drama has been bubbling to the surface in - aquatic park cove- in san francisco regarding a boat where rumors are floating around that the owner has been dumping raw sewage in the water.stanley roberts reports in today's... people behaving badly. there is a trimaran anchored about 100 feet off the shoreline of aquatic park in san francisco owned by this man brian pennington and well let's just say it is creating a bit of a rukusyou can see where the boat is right on the buoy line recently a lot more
4:41 am
swimmers are swimming along the buoy line because there have been some seal bites the swimmers, many of them are members of the dolphin club, and members swim daily and have for well over a hundred years. so it seems like a simple issue, you have boat anchored in swimming lane so you just move the boat . but this is the bay area and nothing is ever simple so i'm going to throw a number in the air . 5 thousand dollars. and this will explain why this boat with the words move the boat has been sitting in aquatic park for more than 100 days. if he could just anchor it further out it would be a nice thing to do and he just won't even after we asked him several times before san francisco the boat owner was causing problems here,in richardson bay where according to marin county sheriff's office he was part of the anchor outs in richardson bay if you follow me closely you know i just looked at the the anchor outs in richardson bay and all of the problems associated with some of them remember jimi macintosh who lives on a boat in richardson bay it's a bad situation, because a lot of them don't have black water tanks they gave no way of pumping them
4:42 am
put so they will use them and in the middle of the night or early morning dump them over board and what's in these honey buckets? poo, urine your basic black water sewage the marin county sheriff office knows brian on a personal basis having some encounters with him until he left richardson bay because of fear for his personal safety due to death threats from other anchor outs so i staked out his boat hoping to get brians side of the story, and while i was looking for him. well he was watching me the whole time from the maritime museum this is my only chance i get a chance to talk to you, i'm sorry that your job is limited like that it's a shame a good story is worth waiting for so remember the 5000 dollar number i tossed in the air well that is reason why the boat which has been illegally anchored for so long whichever jurisdiction who impounds the boat is on the hook for the 5000 dollar impound fee plus all the storage fees which could reach in the 10's of thousands of dollars so what it boils down to is this as long as no one wants to spend the money the boat will sit even if it goes to court and the government wins unless the boat is considered derelict then all bets are off more to come in san francisco
