(grant) kron4's haaziq madyun now...on the array of accidents... as people dealth with this storm...and got ready for the next couple. by mid morning tuesday the heavy down pour had passed. however cloudy skys remained in the east bay and showers continued as you can see folks here in berkeley had the umbrellas over head. over in lafayette this guy had the maxi length rain coat on because although there was a break in the rain there are more showers throughout the week in the forecast according to the national weather service bay area freeways saw multiple collisions on the rain soaked roadway overnight and into the morning according to the california highway patrol communications center, like this two car injury collision here on westbound 580 near

eight towering prototypes for the border wall with mexico he wants... he asked which of the models are hardest to climb....saying certain parts of californiaare desperate for a wall to break the flow of illegal immigration. the president said "if you didn't have walls over here you wouldn't even have a country." he also used the occasion to criticize governor jerry brown........and made reference tooakland mayor libby schaaf. president trump - i think governor brown has done a very poor job of running california. they have the highest taxes in the united states. the place is totally out of control. you have sanctuary cities where you have criminals in the sanctuary cities, and then the mayor of oakland goes out and notifies when ice is going in to pick them up and many of them were criminals with criminal records and very dangerous people. and you would say dangerous people. and i think the governor is doing a terrible job running the state of california. among among the protestors today - a group across the border in tijuana mexico.some carried

(grant) an internal investigation is underway at the san francisco county jail... after it was discovered.... two ice agents were able to get around the city's santcuary city policy...and interview an undocumented inmate. kron4's maureen kelly talked to the sheriff and the public defender who first reported the breach. that's a direct violation of local and state law public defender jeff adachi says some of his lawyers spotted ice agents at the city's jail last week...it turns out the same two ice agents were allowed inside to talk to inmates....both at the jail #2 which is in the hall of justice and at the main jail around the corner. one inmate declined to talk to the ice agents, but a second inmate did not. agents were allowed to come into the jail then

tara get it one of our clients asked him a bunch of questions about where i was from and his citizenship and afterwords had him sign a piece of paper. now there's a federal immigration detainer on our client which means once he's released from custody they are demanding he be sent to ice so this is a huge problem(vicki hennessy) i was horrified to learn that this it happened i was very disappointedsherriff vicki hennessy is describing her reaction when she learned the news. it's a violation of san francsico's sannctuary city policy for law enforcement to cooperate with ice when they are enforcing federal immigration laws. sheriff hennessy says this bulletin was re-issued that outlines the policy and for the next week watch commanders will be reviewing the bulletin during all three daily shifts. i'm committed to making sure doesn't happen again i think we have some of the strongest sanctuary city policies in the country and a sheriff all i can do is apologize because the buck stops with me on the accountable person in this incidentthe sheriff says she believes the breach was simply a mistake, and not an instance where deputies were willfully violating the policy, but she plans to double check that by way of an internal

gonzales shushereba at her wedding. her best friend and new husband tj smiling broadly. also in the picture one of her nine bridesmaids in a vibrant red dress. in less then 2 weeks it would have been the couple's one year anniversary. but this picture now on a go fund me page to raise money to help pay for memorial costs. the highly regarded and successful clinical psychologist was only 32 years old she was killed friday, after taken hostage by gunman, albert wong. he had recently been dismissed from the pathway home - a place that treats vets for ptsd. jennifer was also pregnant with the couples first child - this picture also posted on the go fund me site. and this. out in front of the pathway home where jennifer and two other women, also killed there is a growing memorial, including a heart scultpure. a napa artist reportedly made the three hearts for the women who lost their lives, plus a small heart for jennifer's unborn

child. a veteran who stopped to reflect on the memorial talked with me about the tragedy. pratt. on twitter, long time friend, susan hennessey wrote, "jenn was brilliant. she cared about people she was a "helper" in the mister rogers sense. she dedicated her life to helping veterans who were hurting." also described as kind and giving, friends still trying to grasp why the woman who dedicated her life to helping servicemen and women was cut so short. in yountville te (grant) coming up-- people living at an east bay apartment complex are fed up-- saying they are being pushed out of their homes. what they are now doing to try to stop it. (rob live) saying that it cannot condone a student walkout calling for stricter gun control, the milpitas unified school district is not backing down from it's position that those who do leave school tomorrow will be given an unexcused absence.. milpitas high school students, mostly juniors and seniors i'm told, are set to walk out of class early wednesday to join a nationwide student walkout intended to call on lawmakers to enact stricter gun control. they hope to make a difference says associate student body treasurer diangelo jacquez.diangelo jaquez/milpitas high school senior "....i'm hoping it will make a difference, i know it doesn't happen all that much in california but we know it can happen anywhere and we're hoping this will create some awareness and help out..." the milpitas school district says it supports the students in giving voice to their concernsbut says it can't

(grant) new at five. three more suspects are behind bars tonight...said to be involved in those home invasions in petaluma... that led to a pursuit into novato. seven people have now been arrested. most recently, three men were arrested around seven last night at s.f.o airport...while trying to board a flight back to the east coast. two suspects...a man and a woman...remain at large tonight. deputies say nine people went to three different homes along eugenia drive around three yesterday morning...looking for marijuana they mistakenly thought was being grown there. authorities say the group

kicked in doors... tied up some of the people inside... and pistol whipped one man. in the search for the pot. (grant) residents in an apartment complex in concord claim they are being pushed out by poor living conditions and high rent increases. (catherine) today, kron four's philippe djegal talked with the affected families... who took their concerns to city hall. (philippe) families who say they're living in poor conditions, facing no-cause evicitions and unfair rent increases... stopped by city hall in concord. they dropped off papers to have city inspectors tour their apartments and force their landlord to make repairs to problems that the tenants say have long been ignored. eliabeth lira/tenant- "it just makes us feel like we're less than them. we're paying for the property and just horrible conditions." bed bugs and cochroaches were found in some of the units we visited at the park haven apartment complex. a representative for the landlord says they do their best to respond to maintantenance requests.

but tenants disagree.elizabeth lira/tenant- "they just say they'll get to it but they never do -- they just ignore us." that's why tenants like elizabeth lira are working with the non-profit -- "acce." alliance of californians for community empowerment. "acce" is helping to stop what they claim are several no-cause evictions... and, unfair rent increases -- exceeding 10- percent.edith pastrano/acce- "tenants are mobilizing in concord, in other cities across the state to get better tenant protections like just cause for eviction. currently, in concord, there is no such policy that protects tenants in this way. (philippe) and, there's no rent control, right? (edith) and, there's no rent control. yeah, so landlords are allowed to increase the rent however much they want." shortly after we tried to contact the property manager... the leasing office called the police. eventually, a representative for the landlord told us, they are willing to work with the tenants to resolve their issues. in concord, philippe djegal, kron four news. (grant) san francisco police release new body cam video... showing the moments officers open fire-- killing a man. this is scene video from the shooting last week in the mission. officers say a man in the trunk pulled out a gun. in the video you're going to see the moments before the gun shots were fired ... and we pause the video before the man is killed. nats of gunshots(grant) where the video is paused... you can see what appears to be the man holding a gun. the video was released at a town hall meeting last night. at that meeting... police said 19- year-old adolfo delgado and two other people were involved in an armed robbery.

police say they were able to arrest the other two ... but delgado was hiding in the trunk ... refusing to get out... and then pulled out a gun. san francisco police are not releasing the names of the officers involved. if you want to watch the entire video.. it's posted on our website at kron-4 dot com. contra costa fire department says this is a great reminder to always put a first aid kit in your backpack while hiking. (grant) in the north bay... a man is behind bars for inappropriately touching teenagers... and selling them weed. police say 43-year-old christopher holden of santa rosa appointed himself as a physical therapist for a youth soccer team. several teen girls say he massaged them in unwanted areas... while supposedly treating them for their injuries. police say they also found holden smoking pot with underage girls. they say many teenage girls have previously associated with holden, and their could be more victims. director mike pompeo. one area where the two men were at odds -- north korea. tillerson had pushed for a more measured diplomatic approach. and was apparently blindsided by the president's decision to meet with kim jong un. tillerson talked to reporters this afternoon. rex tillerson - i received a call today from the president of the united states a little after noontime from air force one. i have also spoken to white house chief of staff kelly to ensure that we have clarity as to the days ahead. what is most important is to ensure an orderly and smooth transition. president trump - i actually got along well with rex but really it was a different mind set. a different thinking. also today - president trump's longtime personal aide, john mcentee, is out of his job.he was reportedly fired because he's being investigated by the department of homeland security. a source tells cnn that the investigation involves serious financial crimes that are not related to the president.

(catherine) a bride in arizona had a hard time getting to the altar... that's because she was arrested for drunk driving - on the way to the wedding. there's video of the arrest in marana on monday-- that's 30 miles north of tucson. police say the woman was involved in a crash -- and officers detained herfor impaired driving. she was taken to a police station to have her blood drawn. police say she will be charged

(grant) take a look at this... a driver tries to leave the scene of a car accident... until a sledgehammer started being used to stop him. this was the scene in miami... you can see two men yelling at the driver to stop, pounding on his car and trying to open the car doors. the driver manages to pull away onto another street --- where the crowd follows. one person pulls out a sledgehammer and begins breaking the windows of breaking the windows of the car. the driver eventually pulls away again. 25-year-old maxwell lagutenko was later arrested...suspected of being high on some kind of drug. he faces charges of fleeing and eluding police, leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage and reckless driving.

president trump flew into san diego today...visiting california for the firsttime since taking office. (pam) today, he began inspection of border wall prototypes ... but he also took shots at california leaders like governor jerry brown and oakland mayor libby schaaf ... over sanctuary city policies. schwab says, top officials repeatedly said.. roughly 800 dangerous criminals escaped arrest, because of oakland mayor libby schaff's warning about the four- day ice operation. schwab is disputing those claims -- saying, the statements were misleading because the agency never captures everyone on its target list ... and that calling all ... and that its target list ... and that calling all immigrants dangerous people ... is simply false. week...it turns out the same two ice agents were allowed inside to talk to inmates....both at the jail #2 which is in the hall of justice and at the main jail around the corner. one inmate declined to talk to the ice agents, but a second inmate did not. agents were allowed to come into the jail then tara get it one of our clients asked him a bunch of questions about where i was from and his citizenship and afterwords had him sign a piece of paper. now there's a federal immigration detainer on our client which means once he's released from custody they are demanding he be sent to ice so this is a huge problem(vicki hennessy) i was horrified to learn that this it happened i was very disappointedsherriff vicki hennessy is describing her reaction when she learned the news. it's a violation of san francsico's sannctuary city policy for law enforcement to cooperate with ice when they are enforcing federal immigration laws. sheriff hennessy says this bulletin was re-issued that outlines the policy and for the next week watch commanders will be reviewing the bulletin during all three daily shifts. i'm committed to making sure doesn't happen again i think we have some of the strongest sanctuary city policies in the country and a sheriff all i can do is apologize because

(pam) in national news... prosecutors say, they will seek the death penalty against florida school shooting suspect - nikolas cruz. he is accused of killing 17-people at marjory stoneman douglas high school in parkland last month. that incident was the ninth deadliest mass shooting in modern u-s history. cruz is facing 17-counts of pre- meditated murder in the first degree ... and 17-more counts of attempted first- degree murder. in their decision today, the prosecutors called the shooting "especially heinous, atrocious, and cruel." court documents say, cruz confessed to the shooting shortly after his arrest.

in concord... tenants living at park haven apartments say they're unfairly facing high rent increases and no-cause evicitions... while being forced to stay in dirty conditions. bed bugs and cochroaches seen on floors and walls. the tenants walked to city hall, demanding inspectors tour their apartments to see how bad the situation is. they also want the landlord to back-off of the rent increases exceeding 10-percent. a representative for the landlord says they're willing to listen. in concord, philippe djegal, kron four news.

there is one critical injury... and five are serious. all other injuries are minor. (steve) newly released video shows a terrifying collision between two police helicopters in pasadena back in 2012. the video, released by the ntsb, shows a crew moving a helicopter to the launchpad another chopper approaches shortly thereafter, and the two crafts collide. amazingly, the six people involved received only minor injuries. the ntsb says pilot error from both aircraft and poor weather conditions caused the accident. the n-f-l free agency doesn't officially start until tomorrow afternoon, but teams are not wasting any time beefing up their rosters. the 49ers reportedly agree to terms with former offensive lineman, weston richburg to a five-year deal. details of the contract have not been revealed richburg started 50 of the 51 games at center.
