"e.t." has spoken to multiple sources about lauer's new life after he was fired from the "today" show in november for sexual misconduct. the consensus -- his days are lonely now. lauer's wife, annette, and two of their children have been spending more time in annette's home country of the netherlands. a source adds, he not only ruined his career, but he ruined the family unit that was being held together by a thread. as for his day-to-day, we're told he has people shop for him and often orders food in. he is trying to sell his home and is considering a move out of the hamptons. earlier this month, lauer cut $2.1 million off the price of

his 25-acre estate. it's now listed at $12,750,000. and you might be surprised to learn who we hear lauer is leaning on. a source tells us the one friend that has really stuck by him and seen him through this is bryant gumbel. they have always been close, and matt has needed him during this time. meanwhile, another former "today" show colleague is speaking out. >> it's shocking and disturbing. disorienting, disheartening. >> katie couric told "the wrap" she was unaware of lauer's behavior when they worked together. >> if you were too run into matt lauer today, what would you say to him? >> that i hope he's trying to figure out and understand his behavior and why he did it and why it was so wrong. >> so where does lauer go from here? our source tells us the former anchor is actually hoping for a comeback, but his friends feel that right now that isn't realistic. his strategy? quote, his team has discussed a public apology but agreed disappearing right now seems to

we always knew harry was a nickname for the prince, and now everybody knows meghan's first name is rachel, which just so happens to be her character's name on "suits." >> you can't be serious right now. >> a source tells "e.t." both kate and camilla have been guiding meghan in royal ways. kate has even been advising meghan with her fashion choices. we definitely noticed this week that meghan's hemline was a little more kate-like, falling below her knees. and some news about meghan's future niece and nephew -- prince william has revealed the soon to be 3-year-old princess charlotte loves to dance. as for 4-year-old prince george, his dad says he's obsessed with policemen. but it's not a possible career choice. the nursery schooler is the future king. and tomorrow harry has another solo engagement scheduled. he will return to the army aviation center where he received his advanced helicopter training to present the latest graduates with their wings. prince harry said learning to pilot the apache helicopter was a daunting prospect and one of the biggest challenges of his life. but of course, he passed with flying colors. okay, right now i'm thinking there might be a race to the
