steve aveson in for grant lodes. the man reported missing is 65-year-old thomas mullarkey. he is from richmond-- but was staying at his family cabin in arnold. his family says he is known to be an advanced skiier and in good health. officials say mullarkey didn't return to the cabin after spending the day at the bear valley mountain resort. that is located in alpine county. police say they located his car at the resort just after 11:30 last night. (vicki) here are pictures of rescue crews searching for mullarkey. c-h-p helicopters and the air national guard are assisting in the search. they had to hold off on searching last night because the storm blew in and it was too dangerous to fly. officials say search conditions continue to be very dangerous due to the extreme avalanche conditions. we will continue to update this story as we get more information into the newsroom. (vicki) chief meteorologist lawrence karnow is standing by with a look at your forecast. lets start with the sierra... lawrence how bad is it ? lawrence karnow: there were numerous thunderstorms popping up across the bay area and the state. and there were of course some heavy downpours with some sunshine in between. it was also cool and brisk with highs in the 50s. we continue to see more showers on the doppler radar but they are scattered. if you get caught underneath on of these thunderstorms you can expect brief periods of heavy rain and gusty winds too. you can see the are of low pressure spinning toward california. that will keep things showery tonight and tomorrow too. it will be cool saturday as well with highs in the 50s. by sunday it looks partly cloudy and dry. warmer weather with more sunshine moves in on monday with highs well into the 60s. spring begins on tuesday with the chances of rain increasing late in the day. rain will likely be on and off and heavy through thursday. (steve) breaking news tonight: an immigration and customs enforcement official has confirmed to kron-4 that its agents did make one arrest today in the berkeley area... according to the ice official it was part of an ongoing criminal investigation...earlier this afternoon a protest was planned at berkeley city hall in response... the activist group behind the protest claiming that ice agents took at least three people into custody. and federal immigration agents say

they have arrested 115 people during a three-day operation in the san diego area. this comes just weeks after two other major ice operations.. in northern california 232 arrests were made.... in the los angeles area -- 212 arrests were made. (vicki) another big story we are following tonight.. new video shows the moment a bridge collapses in florida. now-- investigators and emergency crews have begun the process of removing debris, recovering bodies, and preserving evidence. (steve) the bridge collapsed near florida international university yesterday. as of right now-- we know at least six people were killed. emily schmidt reports. deputy mayor maurice kemp / miami-dade county: our primary focus is to remove all of the cars and all of the victims in a dignified manner, and not compromise the investigation in the process.emergency officials working slowly and methodically friday to recover the bodies of the victims still stuck underneath this pedestrian bridge that collapsed thursday.meanwhile local, state, and federal

investigators have begun their mission -- preserving evidence and figuring out what caused the 950-ton bridge to fall. robert sumwalt / ntsb chairman: i do imagine that our investigators will be on scene five to seven days. this will be a very detailed investigation. our entire purpose for being here is to find out what happened so that we can keep it from happening again. the pedestrian bridge had only recently been installed and was not scheduled to open to the public until next year.florida senator marco rubio, who was on-scene thursday tweeted, "the cables that suspend the #miami bridge had loosened & the engineering firm ordered that they be tightened. they were being tightened when it collapsed..."but officials on friday said they are not yet ready to determine what caused the collapse.deputy mayor maurice kemp / miami-dade county: we have not confirmed that there was a stress test we heard that just as you have and that will be confirmed. but the key here is not to jump to conclusions. not to speak on speculation but to work off the facts. that's what we plan to do. in miami, florida, i'm emily schmidt. (vicki) fremont police are on the hunt for the woman they say tried to carjack a vehicle in the bart warm springs parking lot. authorities say a man was sitting in his car just before one o'clock this morning when the woman pulled him out. police say the woman then jumped in the car and tried to drive away. authorities say the man was able to pull the keys out of the ignition. the woman then got out of the car and walked away through the parking lot. authorities say the man suffered a minor injury to his hand. (steve) today marks one week since the horrific shooting at the yountville veterans home. three women lost their lives when gunman albert wong took them hostage and fatally shot them at the pathway home, a facility that treats veterans for ptsd. there is a large public memorial planned for the victims and their families set to take place monday. kron four's terisa estacio spoke with one of the organizers about the service as well as reflecting on the tragic events just 7 days ago.

(take pkg) (estacio reporting)larry kamer, pathway spokesperson. it has been a challenging week, obviously, and obviously for the families of the victims. larry kamer - is the spokesperson for the pathway home... the ptsd treatment facility located on the yountville grounds and tragically the site where gunman and former patient albert wong killed three clinical psychologists last friday during a hostage situation. kamer talked with me about the days after the shooting and the victims - kamer. i can't imagine what it would be like to say goodbye to your loved ones. he shared with me how his wife is doing... she was in the room with gunman wong walked in - heavily armed... kamer. she is doing ok? throwing herself into work. and the big memorial planned for next monday. kamer. "we are trying to support them and blance their needs and give them this memorial for respect and honor." kamer says they expect several thousands to show up... he says yountville is a tight community and support has come from near and far... as the whole community struggles to find strength to carry on. the pathway home was closed for go the other day, but kamer says they continue to provide services

(vicki) two people are injured after an officer involved shooting in san leandro. kron 4's will tran explains what happened. police are investigating an officer-involved shooting thursday night in san leandro. around 9:00 p.m. fremont officers were investigating an auto burglary ring when one of the officers opened fire.one suspect was injured and taken to the hospital. a second suspect fled the scene on foot, but was later taken into custody.no officers were injured in the incident.a shelter-in-place had already been issued in san leandro as police searched for a shooting suspect, police said.residents between hesperian, washington, upton, and floresta were asked to shelter-in-place. the shelter-in-place was lifted friday morning.police say all suspects are in custody. further details about what led to the shooting are unclear at this time.san leandro police department is the lead investigating agency.

cancun.last month the girl's mother discovered esterly had signed amy out of school 10 times - by posing as her stepfather. march 5th - the teenager was reported as a runaway and police discovered thetwo had flown to mexico. esterly is married with four daughters....and withdrew money from his wife's account before disappearing. the mexico amber alert says the teenager is considered a crime victim. steve and vicki? of vallejo and its police department have reached a settlement with denise huskins and aaron quinn...(steve) they're the couple whose 2015 report of a masked intruder and kidnapping was initially dismissed as a hoax... catherine heenan is here with details... (catherine) the couple has reached a 2-point-5 million dollar settlement with vallejo and the police department.. police initially rejected their account that a masked intruder drugged them in their home and kidnapped denise huskins in march of 2015. the assailant

sexually assaulted her and released huskins two days later outside her family's home in southern california. police later realized the couple was telling the truth and the f-b-i arrestedmatthew muller four months later. muller four months later. a disbarred harvard-trained attorney. he's serving a 40- year prison term. aaron quinn's mother has told reporters that the settlement was finalized thursday. vicki and steve? manuel street on communication s hill in san jose. this is video of the scene. a honda accord was traveling eastbound on casselino drive when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree and continued a few yards where it came to rest. the adult male driver along with a female passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene. an adult male passenger was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. an additional female passenger was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. two dogs were in the vehicle. one was pronounced deceased at the scene. alcohol and marijuana are suspected.the identity of the victims will not be released until the santa clara county coroner's office has confirmed her identity and notified next of kin. this is the city's 13th fatal collision and 13th and 14th victim of 2018. this is the city's 13th deadly accident and 13th and 14th victims of 2018. reporting live in san jose, lydia pantazes kron4 news. later than expected-- but a fresno woman finally gets her quinceaqera... at 45 years old. and pride of cultural heritage. for those attending tomorrow's annual st patrick's day parade in san francisco....you will be participating in a very long tradition in this city. it has very long roots. it started only two years after the goldrush 1851 and we're gonna have 167th parade tomorrow that's really very early in san francisco history jo coffey is an amatuer historian who volenteers at the united irish cultural center's research library.a picture of st patrick hangs on the wall. he is credited with bringing christianity to ireland in the 5th century and over the years became a symbol of the country....especially for homesick irish american immigrants. st. patrick's day the parade did not start in dublin, it did not start in ireland although they do have a st. patrick's day parade these days and other parts of ireland it started here in america today st patrick's day continues to be a celebration of everything synomous with irish culture.....including getting your beer goggles on.because drinking is socializing, and fun and some of the irish get together even for celebrating someone's life they party, it's a good thing it's a great thing you have music and story and joy and i think that's out, it may get them and sometimes get out of hand laugh ha ha hait's a day for everyone to rejoice in their irishness....even for those who aren't irish at all. it's celebrating with your friends and family and your community,
