(robin) breaking news we are following this morning out of texas... a package bomb has exploded at a fed-ex facility. one person was injured. the fed-ex facility is in schertz, texas... which is about an hours drive from austin. the f-b-i says that this bomb is likely linked to a serial bomber who has targeted the city of austin several times in recent weeks. 4 bombs have gone off in that city so far this month. two people have been killed and three others injured. the person injured in this morning's explosion was a fed-ex employee. that employee is expected to be okay. the f-b-i and a-t-f are on the scene this morning investigating. (robin) happening now... police in fremont are looking for a missing 14-year-old boy.

marco gamboa was last seen on carol avenue around 5:00 last night. he did not go to school yesterday. he is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and around 130 pounds. (robin) a room filled with heavy hearts .... remembered three brave woman whose lives were taken by someone they had set out to help. dr. jennifer golick, christine loeber, and dr. jennifer gonzales shushereba... all lost their lives in the tragic events almost two weeks ago. last night they were honored. kron 4's j-r stone was at the "celebration of life" and has more. three seperate families honored with american flags in memory of their loved ones. here you can see t.j. shushereba (shoosh-uh-reebah). his wife jennifer who was pregnant, was due to have her baby in just two months, jennifer was one of three victims. her father spoke at monday's memorial.sot had morning sickness.....she was looking for vetsthe three

victims who remembered monday included christine loeber, dr. jennifer golick, and dr. jennifer gonzales shushereba (shoosh-uh-reebah). as attendees arrived in yountville....veterans stood outside holding american flags. these three women helped more than 500 veterans over the years. those who knew christine loeber say she was from boston, she had a smile that will not be forgotten, and a strong determination to help those around her.sot when she looked you in the eyes and said i got this you knew you didn't have to worryas for dr. golick....she was an avid giants fan with a love for hunter pence. in fact her team like attitude was compared to a hunter pence motivation speech that the ballplayer made years ago.sot oc: jiffy did that every day of her professional career

(map) this latest incident happened last night on eastbound interstate 580 near edwards avenue in oakland. c-h-p says a bullet came through the driver's windshield and hit him on the finger. police say the shooter sped off after. all eastbound lanes were blocked last night as officers searched for shell casings. (robin) police are investigating another possible shooting on i- 580 ...in san rafael. police say it happened yesterday afternoon ... a person called saying a person pulled out a gun... and shot at their car. this was near the main street -san quentin exit.... police say there was damage to the person's car. the c-h-p shut down westbound 580 for about a half hour last night to search the road for evidence. (robin) a san jose street had to be shutdown... after grenades were found. the woman who found the five grenades says she had no idea that they were even in her home. she says the house has been empty for the last two years. the house is in

the process of being sold and the homeowner was trying to get everything out for an estate sale. she found the grenades in her basement and called the sheriff's office. the bomb squad came out and detonated the grenades. (robin) six people are behind bars in connection with a high-end snatch and grab robbery in san francisco. investigators say the thieves ran into a high-end fashion store at san francisco's union square last month. police say about 50-thousand-dollars worth of handbags were stolen. within seconds -- nine robbers snatched more than 20 handbags and wallets from the display area. one of the robbers police are looking for has been identified as 21- year-old keyonna kyer. here are pictures of the robbers who police arrested. three of them are juveniles-- and have not been identified. they are now facing felony charges. (robin) uber is pulling self-driving cars from the road after a pedestrian was hit and killed by an autonomous car in arizona.

uber has suspended all tests of self-driving cars in phoenix, pittsburgh, toronto and here in san francisco... kron4's gabe slate spoke to an expert on self-driving cars.... he explains what this means to the industry... uber has halted their self driving vehicle tests in the bay area after one of their autonomous vehicles struck and killed a 49 year old woman crossing a street in tempe arizona. uber had been testing their self driving volvo suv's, in arizona, as well here in the bay area, with a safety driver in the vehicle that can take over the car manually at anytime. it's unclear at this point if the safety driver in the uber car involved in the pedestrian fatality in arizona tried to take control to avoid the accident. in a statement uber said it is fully cooperating with local officials and that their hearts go out to the victim's family. sound from emme hall, / auto expert, cnet, @mmmotorsports"this is a huge deal for industry, no one should have to die for these companies to learn about safety" emme hall is an auto expert

(robin) neighbors say they're getting a lot of questions from the fbi and atf-- as investigators still have a heavy presence in the travis country neighborhood of austin monday night. jacqulyn powell spoke with several neighbors when police let them out of their homes for the first time. as hundreds of officers and federal agents have spent more than 24 hours investigating sunday's trip wire explosion....people who live near the cul-de-sac where it happened...say they can't rest either."it's pretty spooky. yeah, no question about it." neighbors say they have a hard time understanding how someone could have set up the trap-- without being seen.liz benigno / former neighbor: "that corner of dawn song and eagle feather, it's like grand central station in here."liz benigno and her son joseph lived on dawn song drive for many years.today-- they came back to check on family in the area.they say on a typical sunday evening -- the street is packed with kids...bikes...and people walking dogs.joseph benigno /

access points-- where someone might have been able to easily come off the greenbelt and sneak through (robin) an eighth person is in custody in a string of home invasion robberies last week in petaluma. this is video from the day police searched the neighborhood for the suspects. the eighth suspect was actually arrested in north carolina. all of the suspects are from the east coast. police say they were looking for marijuana when they broke into the homes...but invaded houses that did not actually have marijuana in them. (robin) a preliminary investigation into the north beach fire from last weekend determined the cause of the fire was accidental. the fire happened on saturday night in san francisco's north beach neighborhood. a red tag can be seen on several doors warning the building on columbus, union and powell is unsafe.. the building was made up of 28 vacant apartments and six businesses who's futures are now in limbo. a man who worked at one of the damaged restaurants... came back to take pictures of where his job

discovered when someone noticed the 14 year old was walking funny oh and no one better not touch me lucky charms yes this box has a surprise in the bottom and it almost made it on the boat almostnats: ambiance until it was determined the box has booze tucked under the tasty marshmallow charms they're hiding alcohol in all types of ingenious ways and consuming when they are on board in the past minors have been found with vodka in a roll with salami and tomatoes and this canister wrapped in tortilla shells made to look like a burrito .even adults were blocked from bring any type of liquor including a 55 dollar bottle selby pinot noir . that was put back in the car i gotta put it back in the car which brings us back to the jello shots they actually made it past the checkpoint. until a glimmer of light bounced off a metal flask and then it was secondary screening time even after everyone was checked .you have everything the flask and everything even more jello shots were produced... in total more 35 jello shots made

yesterday morning to repair a sinkhole on the oakland side of the tunnel. that sinkhole was caused by the failure of an underground storm drain. ( terisa ) a man and three teens are arrested at a milpitas hotel with a stolen gun. martin leake junior was on probation. he was contacted by police at the americas best value inn on south main street. when officers went to his hotel room he was with three 16- year-olds. they also had marijuana... alcohol and a handgun that had been stolen from a home in san jose last month. the three teenagers were all taken to juvenile hall. leake was arrested for violating his probation. ( james ) new this morning... a recent housing report showed san jose only met 20-percent of its affordable housing goals in 20-17. the city countil will decide later this afternoon what steps need to be taken to improve that number. san jose issued permits for just under 500 affordable apartments in 20-17. however it exceeded its annual goal for regular housing.... with over 25- hundred issued permits. people who make up to 95- thousand dollars a year are considered to have a "moderate income"... and are eligible for affordable housing in san jose. ( james ) in san francisco... a preliminary investigation into the north beach fire has determined that the cause of the flames was accidental. the fire started saturday night. now... a red tag can be seen on several doors... meaning the businesses are unsafe. the building that burned was made up of 28 vacant apartments and six businesses. one restaurant worker showed up yesterday... to take pictures of where his job used to be.

( james ) a fire department spokesman said putting water on a fire displaces oxygen... which can intensive the flames. crews say they fought on the fire on many fronts... and worked to keep it from spreading. eight people in a nearby building were displaced because of the fire. their homes were yellow tagged because of water damage. ( james ) san francisco has activated an emergency fund for the businesses damaged by the fire. the businesses suffered water damage... fire damage... or both. each business will now get up to 10- thousand dollars to replace inventory and pay employee salaries. ( terisa ) happening today... pleasant hill police will be on the college park high school campus... teaching students about the dangers of drunk driving. officers will be taking part in the "every 15 minutes" program. this will involve a mock d-u-i crash at the school. officers will

we're tracking... uber is pulling self-driving cars from the road after a pedestrian was hit and killed by an autonomous car in arizona. it happened in tempe. a self-driving uber s-u-v hit a woman who was walking her bike outside of the crosswalk. the woman died at the hospital. tempe police say an operator was behind the wheel. ( james ) now uber has suspended all tests of self-driving cars in phoenix, pittsburgh, toronto and here in san francisco.( terisa ) kron 4's gabe slate spoke to an expert on self-driving cars. he explains what this means to the industry. uber has halted their self driving vehicle tests in the bay area after one of their autonomous vehicles struck and killed a 49 year old woman crossing a street in tempe arizona. uber had been testing their self driving volvo suv's, in arizona, as well here in the bay area, with a safety driver in the vehicle that can take over the car manually at anytime. it's unclear at this point if the

east bay are demanding more pay... and the school district is supporting the idea. alameda teachers marched to island high school yesterday... where the school board held a budget meeting. a pay increase for teachers is supported by both the district's superintendent and board president. the district is now looking at a number of ideas to come up with the money. the president of the education association says over staffing is the issue. ( james ) the school board is expected to make a decision about increasing teacher salaries by the end of next month.. ( james ) two schools in the north bay were put on lockdown... after threatening graffiti is found in the restroom. it happened at harmony elementary school and salmon creek school in occidental yesterday. both schools are on the same campus for pre-k through

eighth grade. police were called to the campus when the graffiti was found. deputies say no was in danger and the lockdown was lifted. but students were sent home early. ( terisa ) a man on probation is behind bars... accused of using social media to sell drugs. the 24-year- old -- whose name has not yet been released -- is on probation for drug trafficking charges. officers say a recent facebook post bragged about continued drug activity. the man showed up for a regular probation check at the marin county civic center... and when he got there he was detained. officers searched his car and found 15-thousand dollars worth of drugs... three cellphones... and two thousand dollars in cash. ( terisa ) happening today... san francisco could become the largest u-s city to ban the sale of fur. if the board of supervisors approves the ban today... san francisco would join two other california cities, west hollywood and berkeley, in saying no to a symbol of glamour that animal advocates say is built on cruelty.

( terisa ) and breaking overnight in san francisco... a woman had to be rescued from an apartment fire. it happened on the 15-hundred block of jackson street in the city's nob hill neighborhood. the fire broke out just after 4:00 this morning. the woman was rescued from the 4th story balcony. she was treated by paramedics. it took firefighters about 20 minutes to get the fire under control. we spoke to people who were inside the building when the fire broke out. firefighters are now going through the apartment looking for the cause of the fire. jennifer golick and jennifer gonzales were killed almost two weeks ago in yountville at the pathway home. they were shot to death by albert wong. veterans stood outside their memorial... holding american flags. the three women helped more than 500 veterans over the years. ( james ) a san jose street had to be shutdown... after grenades were found. the woman who found the five grenades says she had no idea that they were even in her home. she says the house has been empty for the last two years. the house is in the process of being sold and the homeowner was trying to get everything out for an estate sale. she found the grenades in her basement and called the sheriff's office. the bomb squad came out and detonated the grenades. ( james ) the repairs are done. and this morning... both lanes of the posey tube -- that connects alameda to oakland -- are open. alameda public works finished the job ahead of schedule. the tube was closed to traffic yesterday morning to repair a sinkhole on the oakland side of the tunnel. that sinkhole was caused by the failure of an underground storm drain. teens are arrested at a milpitas hotel with a stolen gun. martin leake junior was on probation. he was contacted by police at the americas best value inn on south main street. when officers went to his hotel room he was with three 16- year-olds. they also had marijuana... alcohol and a handgun that had been stolen from a home in san jose last month. the three teenagers were all taken to juvenile hall. leake was arrested for violating his probation. ( terisa ) an eighth person is now in custody after a string of home invasion robberies last week in petaluma. this is video from the day police searched the neighborhood for the thieves. the eighth person was arrested in north carolina. everyone in the group is from the east coast. police say the group was looking for marijuana when they broke into the homes. ( james ) new this morning... a recent housing report showed san jose only met 20-percent of its affordable housing goals in 20-17. the city countil will decide later this

( james ) in san francisco... a preliminary investigation into the north beach fire has determined that the cause of the flames was accidental. the fire started saturday night. now... a red tag can be seen on several doors... meaning the businesses are unsafe. the building that burned was made up of 28 vacant apartments and six businesses. one restaurant worker showed up yesterday... to take pictures of where his job used to be. ( james ) breaking news we are following this morning out of texas... a package bomb has exploded at a fed-ex facility. one person was injured. the package was addressed to austin, the f-b-i says that this bomb is likely linked to a serial bomber who has targeted taustin several times in recent weeks. 4 bombs have gone off in that city so far this month. two people have been killed and three others injured. the person injured in this morning's explosion was a fed-ex employee. that employee is expected to be okay. the fed-ex facility is in schertz, texas... which is about an hours drive from

( james ) in the east bay... family and friends of a man fatally shot by a bart police officer want to meet face to face with the district attorney. they say they want justice. sahleem tindle's family gathered outside district attorney nancy o'malley's office... at the alameda county superior court house. they are calling for a speedy investigation. and tindle's mother wants to meet with the d-a. she says she also wants action to be taken against the officer.

the children found living in a so-called "house of horrors"... are now living in two separate foster homes. their parents -- david and louise turpin -- were arrested back in january. the couple is accused of holding their 13 children captive. the children are between the ages of two and 29-years-old. police say the turpins oldest daughter weighed just 82 pounds when she was found. the two youngest kids are now in one house... with the other four minors at another location in riverside county. the turpin parents are due back in court on march 23rd.
