department enlighten with his knowledge the reason i'm stopping you you speak english the license plate in the back this particular style of the license plate the white background is actually reflective material and what has been done to this license plate there appears there is some acid or chemical placed on the reflective material making it non reflective and usually people do that to avoid cameras at the bridges red light cameras or something like that. so if you happen to pay attention to the cars on the road you will see quite a few cars with what the state calls altered plates in fact i pointed out the problem to the california highway patrol back in 2015 with this segment this food truck was spotting rolling along interstate 880 however take a look at the licence plate, do you see anything wrong?if you said the license plate is hard to read. you are correctnats: keep driving until you see a large shoulder or take the next exitso the driver gets to

have a chat with officer swartz of the castro valley office of the california highway patrolit turns out the place was sprayed with 409 and scrubbed with these brillo pads then someone colored in the numbers with a sharpieback to present day this minivan has a similar problem except in this case it appears the plate was sand blasted off . so here is the deal. there are two ways an officer can handle this ..he can issue you a fix it ticket yea show them that your license plates are no longer legible however if the officer has a sneaky suspicion that you intentionally altered the plates they could issue you a bigger fine which is 11 hundred and five dollars all three drivers were issued fix it tickets which basically means you go to the dmv get. new plates and get an officer to sign the ticket oh and pay $25 dismissal fee but honestly waiting in line at the dmv should be considered cruel and unusual punishment .. just saying riding with the south san francisco police department stanley roberts kron 4 news (robin) coming up on the kron four morning news... congress avoids a government shutdown...for now...passing a spending bill which gets the government through september. we tell you what held up the process... and what's starting to annoy some senators.
