(robin) a big story we're following this morning ... investigators are trying to determine how a fire started in the basement of a san francisco church. the fire began an hour before palm sunday services. the pastor thinks it may have been started by a person seeking shelter in the church. kron 4's ali reid has more on the investigation. wander in for palm sunday and there's a hook and ladder fire truck out front it's like what's going onpalm sunday at christ church lutheran was offset by a suspicious fire in the basement.the smoke was a pretty bad smell in the sanctuary, and downstairs was just terrible. broken glass and you know burnt out woodwe had litergy in the parish hall rather than the sanctuary. we got the parish hall aired out fasterinvestigators believe someone may have set the fire intentionally.it seems more

like a smoldering fire whereas at first they were thinking perhaps intentional arson. now they're thinking it was accidental or inattention that caused the fire to get awayit isn't clear how the individual got inside ... or if it was the same squatter parishoners spotted camping in the same space on saturday. all while cleaning up for holy week.we did ask a person to leave pastor steve sabin tells me a preschool that had been downstairs for 35 years moved out last september. since then, it is normally only used for sunday school. so it has been a little less used which i think is why perhaps we had a problem with someone sort of camping outas parishoners look forward to a very busy holy week, they're hoping that at least the smell will get better.we're hoping that come holy thursday and good friday

(robin) the shooting of an unarmed african-american man by sacramento police ... has sparked national outrage and prompted a large response from black lives matter protesters. and a national civil rights attorney has now joined the call for justice for stephon clark. marc thomas has the story. national civil rights attorney ben crump sent out this tweet and video saying he is now

victim, he doesn't want to use his name but after checking his ring camera he noticed two things i found there were like two suspicious recordings on around 10 in the morning and one around noon the first was the actual amazon delivery to this sleepy neighborhood the second was this someone else running up to the doorbell and picking up the package that someone wasn't alone, there was a getaway driver behind the wheel of a pickup truck with the engine still running waiting to bail in the bed of the pickup was construction material and apparently a ladder this was his first time being a victim of porch pirates.. so he never felt unsafe about leaving packages but now everything has changed living down here and working in the city, i always hear from my coworkers that they have to ship packages to their office because it's not safe to ship it wherever their apartments are in the city so the thing that stood out to me is that this area has very limited access for cars so i'm thinking the next option is to put cameras coming in and out of this area i'm kind of a fan of having cameras at the entry and exit at the entry part of the neighborhood we've talked about that in our city
