questions about how this suv carrying a family ended up at the bottom of a 100 foot cliff off highway one in mendacino county near the city of westport. it happened here in a remote rugged part of the coast westport is northwest of ukiah jennifer and sarah hart from woodland washington were found dead in the vehicle in their seat belts three of their six adopted teenagers, markis 19 years old, jeremiah 14 years old, and abigal 14 years old were found dead near the vehicle.. it's believed they were thrown out of the car went it crashed. they were not wearing seatbelts. sound from tom allman, sheriff- cororner, mendocinco county "that is a concern we don't know what happened" investigators are tying to figure out how they went off the cliff it wasn't off the highway itself they were here at the south side of juan creek bridge, in a large flat dirt lookout area that people

( robin ) in pacifica... in pacifica... one person is suffering from major injuries after driving off of a cliff. police say this happened near palmetto avenue and westline drive.. near esplanade beach. right now... the cause of the accident is under investigation. ( robin ) a 75-year-old napa man was killed at the sonoma raceway. officials say the man was taking part in the "wednesday night drags" program when his car hit the wall at over 100 miles an hour... killing him. the

victim's name has not been released. officials say this is the first on-track fatality in the 30-year history of the wednesday night drags program. ( robin )two people are in the hospital after being run-over by a driver in san francisco's dogpatch neighborhood. this all happened just before 10-30 wednesday morning near 24th street in san francisco. kron 4's j.r. stone has the story. sot the guy in the van was just crazy and took it to a new level....witnesses describing the moments a driver ran over five people in san francisco's dogpatch neighborhood. this is video of the paramedics racing to help those individuals. sot it started the guy in the van....they started yelling back there were turf discussions like this is my turf and whatevera little before 10:30 in the morning there was an argument between five men and another man who was in a van and armed.sot got out of the van with an ax....went after the guys...took off their belts...took the ax away from him chased him back to the van he got in....he flipped the

van around and drove over four out of five of them.officers say five of the men were actually hit. one of those individuals died at the hospital. since that time at least one arrest has been made but even so....at least three witnesses we talked with wouldn't show their face on camera. fearful of possible retaliation.sot just angry....it sounds like my assumption is either some kind of mental disorder or drug withdrawl. ( robin )that was j-r stone reporting. the suspected driver is in police custody. his name, age, and a mug shot has yet not been released. ( robin ) berkeley police are investigating after they say a fetus washed up on shore. a person walking near the water discovered the fetus just west of the tom bates sports fields yesterday afternoon. investigators say it was a baby boy and that the fetus was fairly well developed with the umbilical cord still attached. they are now trying to figure out how the baby boy ended up in the water.... and who he belongs to. ( robin ) happening today.... the driver police say jumped a curb at oakland's airport... is set to be arraigned. authorities say oakland resident... juan pablo... was dropping someone off at the airport tuesday night... and somehow jumped the curb... hitting 3 people. the crash sent luggage flying into the air... injuring a fourth person. two people were sent to the hospital... one with moderate injuries. pablo was arrested on suspicion of felony reckless driving, and driving without a license. he is being held at the santa rita jail in dublin. ( robin )also happening today... san francisco police will hold a town hall meeting on a deadly police shooting. the shootout happened last week on amazon avenue. police were

responding to reports of an armed man... and when they confronted several people inside a business... shots were fired. 21-year-old jehad eid was killed... five others were hurt including an officer and a minor. we don't know the condition of the child. but the other victims will be ok. the town hall starts at 6 at balboa high school. ( robin )the family of a man shot dead by a vallejo police officer... is filing a civil rights law suit against the officer and the city of vallejo. kron 4's haaziq madyun was there when that announcement was made. sot civil rights attorney john burris is showing images of the body of 32-year-old ronell foster who died in an officer involved shooting back on februray 13th in vallejosot

angela giles/ronell foster's aunt: "i need the mayor and the chief of police to stand up and give us what we need, we need cooperation from your department, if there is nothing to hide we need transparency">i contacted vallejo mayor bob sampayan's office. i was told...no comment at this time. reached out to vallejo police chief andrew bidou's office for an on camera interview...and was told there will be no on- camera comments. however vallejo police did release a statement which reads in part... "although the investigation into this incident is not complete, the evidence, including the officer body camera video, reveal a different story than what was relayed in mr. burris' press release"the lawsuit seeks unspecified damages on behalf on ronell foster's son and daughter...in vallejo haaziq madyun kron4news ( robin ) an el granada man is in custody after allegedly stabbing another man. police say around four am wednesday morning... officers responded to a report of a stabbing in montara. authorities say when officers arrived they found a man in critical condition. the man was transported to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.

officers arrested phillip tunrner. he is facing charges of assault with a deadly ( robin )after thousands of dollars worth of computer equiptment was taken from a contra costa boys and girls club... we now know that the stolen goods... were going to be used for the organizations summer camp and other program. kron 4's chuck clifford has the latest. natson the morning of march 20th, the staff here at the boys and girls clubs of contra costa county arrived to find that the storage locker behind their offices had been broken into and raided. natsthe theives stole about $20,000 worth computers, monitors, keyboards, and other valuable equipment. many of the stolen itmes were going to be used at camps and youth computer labs scheduled to start in june. sotoh, it was heartbreaking. . .dana fraticelli is the ceo of the boys and girls clubs . she says the loss is blow to their small operation.sotto think that someone would come here and actually steal tools and equipment for kids who can't afford other programs in the community. it was shocking and dissapointing.the contra costa county sheriff's office is investigating but so far no suspects have been identified. dana hopes that whoever did

( robin )a community terrified after a girl is swept off of a jogging path and assaulted. this morning police in palo alto are still looking for suspect. the incident happended just off of deer creek road. kron 4's hermela are-gawi has the story. had been grabbed while running along this trail and sexually assaulted. a rare crime in this palo alto neighborhood.. traci matthews/concerned residenti am shocked that's not what you see around here. my daughter plays soccer full time. her dad and i let her run the school track, let her go on trails, i'm very shocked. wednesday afternoon.. a teenage girl is jogging along arastradero road off deer creek road when she's snatched into the bushes. captain zach perron/palo alto police department she was pulled off that path and into the bushes by a man who had a gun, that she did not know and he sexually assaulted her in the bushes off the path and then ran away.police say they called all hands on deck.. using canines and a chp helicopter to search through the area for hours.. but didn't find the suspect. captain zach perron/palo alto police department the good news is if there is any. this girl is not seriously physically injured. that is very good news. obviously there is the emotional trauma that goes along with this too but she's a tough young lady

about this dad... david henry sheriff's deputies say timothy james kottler tried to lure henry's daughter into a pontiac grand prix as she was walking home from her middle school in this santa rosa neighborhood.david henry. "he said do i know you? do i recognize you from the market? and she said no. henry says his daughter stayed strong keeping her distance from the man. henry. he had his door open, he said his window was broken, fortunately, an att technician was in the area and walked over, and the man drove away and waived.they got a license plate, turned it over to sonoma county sheriff's deputies who arrested kottler on an annoying or molesting a victim under 18 offense. but several hours after his arrest, kottler was let out of

( robin ) teachers with the oakland unified school district were at sequoia elementary school in oakland... picketing and handing out flyers in hopes of bringing attention to contract negotiations. this is just one of many demonstrations taking place this week at different oakland schools. oakland educators have been working without a contract for almost nine months. their contract expired july 1st 20-17. teachers say their main concerns are pay raises... and also smaller class sizes. police union is putting out the call for new cop cars. claiming its current fleet is old, unsafe and unreliable. an odometer shows a san francisco police car with over 129-thousand miles on it. union leaders say one car has part of the steering wheel missing... other vehicles don't have functioning lights and sirens. the president of the citys police union says the department's fleet ... is falling apart. and with the city's budget up for debate next month...the police union wants the board of supervisors to prioritize repairing and replacing the vehicles.(sot) sot that problem has not been fixed last year or the year before and unless they make some serious changes the problem will continue( robin ) after an incident last june during the deadly shooting at the ups building... a responding officer's police car didnt' start... and they were forced to drive a citizen's car to

(lourdes barraza)i caught up with lourdes barraza helping her daughter with homework as another day passes while her husband, fernando carillo, is in jail in richmond, whle judge joseph park decides whether to deport him.lourdes barraza/husband facing deportation"....we're just focused on judge park to make the right decision, we have a lot of support in the community, fernando is not a threat to society and he needs to be home with his family..." if the judge rules against them, lourdes and her three daughters, all of whomare american citizens, are setting their sites on a new life in canada.lourdes barraza"....if he is removed to mexico, we could not live there safely, so the only option is canada,

linda mar beach. officers responded after receiving calls about a man exposing himself... and taking pictures of children with his phone. the man gone when they arrived. witnesses say they saw him driving off in what looked like a gray honda coupe. ( darya ) a big story this morning... a funeral will be held today for stephon clark -- the unarmed black man shot and killed by sacramento police.( darya ) tensions are high in the city... and authorities are preparing for more protests today. clark was shot almost two weeks ago. two police officers were responding to a report of someone breaking car windows... when they fatally shot clark in his grandparents' backyard. police say they thought clark was holding a gun. he was found with a cellphone. the state's attorney general is investigating the fatal shooting... while clark's loved ones want an independent autopsy.

highway one... they are also searching the water... with help from the alameda county sheriff's department. the missing children are presumed dead. the car was found monday. the victims have been identified. jennifer and sarah hart died with their adoptive children. the bodies of 19-year-old markis, 14-year-old jeremiah and 14-year-old abigal has been found. but 15-year- old devonte, 16-year-old hannah and 12-year-old sierra are missing. the family recently moved to washington state. investigators say the family appeared to be on a short road trip. we're also learning one of the missing children -- once went viral for hugging an officer during protests over police shootings. this is the photo -- showing devonte hart -- tears streamed down his cheek the photo was taken in 2014 in portland. ( darya ) one person is dead and four others are hurt after a hit-and-run in san francisco. it happened yesterday morning on illinois and 24th streets. there was an argument between five

men and another man who was driving a van. a witness told us the driver got out of the van and came at the group with an ax. that is when the argument escalated... < "they took the ax away from him and chased him back to the van he got back in the van...screaming the whole way just yelling at each other..the guys started to walk away and he flipped the van around and drove it up on the sidewalk full petal to the metal">( darya ) all five men were hit by the van... killing one of them. the driver has been arrested... but is not being named at this time. ( darya ) happening now... police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a teen on a jogging path in palo alto. it happened in near arastradero road and deer creek road yesterday afternoon. police say the man pulled the girl off the jogging path... put a gun to her head... and sexually assaulted her. he then ran off. the victim flagged down help.

police say they used canines and a c-h-p helicopter to search the area. but after an hours long search... they did not find the attacker. ( james ) new this morning... a man is in custody... accused of raping a woman in a parking lot in san mateo. it happened tuesday afternoon on 42nd avenue. when police arrived, they found a woman intoxicated and partially unresponsve. she told officers that a man was holding her against her will... and that he had ran off. officers found a man nearby who fit the description...registered sex offender, eli walker. walker was arrested and booked into the san mateo county jail. ( james ) a 75-year-old napa man was killed at the sonoma raceway. officials say the man was taking part in the "wednesday night drags" program when his car hit the wall at over 100 miles an hour... killing him. the victim's name has not been released. officials say this is the first on-track fatality in the 30-year history of the wednesday night drags program. ( james ) one person has major injuries after driving

( darya ) a teen has been arrested for attempted murder in a santa rosa shooting. thomas martinez turned himself in at the santa rosa police department on tuesday. police say martinez shot a man after an argument. the victim was able to drive himself to the 7-11 on corby avenue for help. emergency responders treated him at the store...then took him to the hospital. miguel aleman and crystal lemus were also arrested on suspicion of being accessories to an assault with a deadly weapon. killed on february 13th. vallejo police say foster was riding a bicycle when an officer stopped him as part of an investigation. police say foster ran and then got into a fight with the officer. they say foster then grabbed the officer's flashlight... and that's when the officer shot him. foster's family is calling on vallejo city leadership to release footage of the incident from the patrol car and the officer's body camera. ( darya ) we're learning more about the discovery of a fetus in berkeley. authorities are hoping the mother comes forward... so they can check on her physical and mental health. we first brought you this story yesterday morning as breaking news. a person walking near the water found the fetus near the tom bates sports fields. investigators say it was a baby boy and that the fetus was fairly well developed... with the umbilical cord still attached. it's believed the mother suffered a miscarriage. investigators are trying to figure out how the baby boy

( darya ) in the south bay... a family is nervously waiting to find out whether a loving father and husband will be deported. fernando carillo is in the richmond jail... awaiting a judge's decision on his deportation. he was arrested by ice agents after dropping his daughter off at day care back in october. carillo has already been deported three times since 2003. his wife and 3 daughters are all american citizens... but say they are preparing to start a new life in canada. ( darya ) supporters of carillo want the judge to grant what's called a "withholding of removal," that would allow carillo to appeal...apply for a work permit...and stay with his family in the u-s. ( darya ) the san francisco police union is putting out a call for new cop cars... claiming its current

-- a mother orchestrating a theft in stockton with her children. this surveillance video of a woman with an infant on her hip and a young boy close behind starts out innocent. seconds later - the boy - runs his fingers through his hair he then approaches a glass counter - then when he sees no one is looking -- scoops up a speaker and makes a run for it. the manager says he was dumbfounded when he reviewed the surveillance footage and saw the mother getting the car ready. ( james ) the manager says he did not realize what had happened until days later when he took a look at the surveillance footage. then he noticed a second set of speakers were also stolen by another family. that family has promised to pay for the speakers. arastradero road and deer creek road yesterday afternoon. police say the man pulled the girl off the jogging path... put a gun to her head... and sexually assaulted her. he then ran off. the victim flagged down help. police say they used canines and a c-h-p helicopter to search the area. but after an hours long search... they did not find the attacker. ( darya ) a search is underway for three missing children in mendocino county -- after the car plunged off a cliff. their parents and three other siblings were killed in that crash. the search is focused on and around the shoreline below highway one... they are also searching the water... with help from the alameda county sheriff's department. the missing children are presumed dead. the car was found monday. the victims have been identified. jennifer and sarah hart died

with their adoptive children. the bodies of 19-year-old markis, 14-year-old jeremiah and 14-year-old abigal has been found. but 15-year- old devonte, 16-year-old hannah and 12-year-old sierra are missing. the family recently moved to washington state. investigators say the family appeared to be on a short road trip. we're also learning one of the missing children -- once went viral for hugging an officer during protests over police shootings. this is the photo -- showing devonte hart -- tears streamed down his cheek the photo was taken in 2014 in portland. on monday child protective services went to the family's home in washington after two people called them and expressed concern about the children and their well being. sonoma raceway. officials say the man was taking part in the "wednesday night drags" program when his car hit the wall at over 100 miles an hour... killing him. the victim's name has not been released. officials say this is the first on-track fatality in the 30-year history of the wednesday night drags program. ( james ) one person has major injuries after driving off the a cliff in pacifica. police say this happened near palmetto avenue and westline drive.. near esplanade beach. right now... the cause of accident is under investigation. ( james ) one person is dead and four others are hurt after a hit-and-run in san francisco. it happened yesterday morning on illinois and 24th streets. there was an argument between five men and another man who was driving a van. a witness told us the driver got out of the van and came at the group with an ax. that is when the argument escalated... < "they took the ax away from him and chased him back to the van he got back in the van...screaming the whole way just yelling at each other..the guys started to

spreading the word about the man. sheriff's deputies say timothy james kottler tried to lure david henry's daughter into a car as she was walking home from her middle school in a santa rosa neighborhood. henry says his daughter kept her distance from the man. morning... a funeral will be held today for stephon clark -- the unarmed black man shot and killed by sacramento police. tensions are high in the city... and authorities are preparing for more protests today. clark was shot almost two weeks ago. two police officers were responding to a report of someone breaking car windows... when they fatally clark in his grandparents' backyard. police say they thought clark was holding a gun. he was found with a cellphone. the state's attorney general is investigating the fatal shooting... while clark's loved ones want an independent autopsy.

( james ) new information on the deadly crash involving an electric tesla model-x. tesla says the deadly crash was made more severe by a damaged freeway barrier. they say the barrier on 101 in mountain view was missing a piece designed to protect drivers. tesla posted this picture on their website. on the left you can see what the barrier looked like before it was damaged.

husband will be deported. fernando carillo is in the richmond jail... waiting on a judge's decision on his deportation. he was arrested by ice agents after leaving his daughter's day care back in october. carillo has already been deported three times deported three times since 2003. his wife and 3 daughters are all american citizens... but say they are preparing to start a new life in canada. ( james ) supporters of carillo want the judge to grant what's called a "withholding of removal," that would allow carillo to appeal...apply for a work permit...and stay with his family in the u-s. ( darya ) the san francisco police union is putting out the call for new cop cars ... claiming its current fleet is old, unsafe and unreliable. union

( james ) a teen has been arrested for attempted murder in a santa rosa shooting. thomas martinez turned himself in at the santa rosa police department on tuesday. police say martinez shot a man after an argument. the victim was able to drive himself to the 7-11 on corby avenue for help. emergency responders treated him at the store...then took him to the hospital. miguel aleman and crystal lemus were also arrested on suspicion of being accessories to an assault with a deadly weapon. children. this surveillance video of a woman with an infant on her hip and a young boy close behind starts out innocent. seconds later - the boy - runs his fingers through his hair he then approaches a glass counter - then when he sees no one is looking -- scoops up a speaker and makes a run for it. the manager says he was dumbfounded when he reviewed the surveillance footage and saw the mother getting the car ready. ( james ) the manager says he did not realize what had happened until days later when he took a look at the surveillance footage. then he noticed a second set of speakers were also stolen by another family. that family has promised to pay for the speakers.
