woman who died from a hit and run over the weekend. we first brought you this story yesterday on the kron 4 morning news. 46-year-old ellen alexandra scott ...was hit by a car on sunday morning. it happened in san rafael along the westbound 580 ramp connecting to southbound 101. first responders found scott on the freeway with injuries and she died on the scene. police are still looking for the driver who hit her. we spoke to scott's

officer joseph mateu tried to shutdown traffic during the evening commute in front of the oalkand police department at broadway and seventhoakland police is one of the agencies investigating the january 3rd incident that took place just outside the west oakland bart station. before the protest moved through the streets of downtown oakland monday evening. it began here at the alameda county district attorney's office at 12th and broadway in oakland . shaleem tindle's family had a meeting with alameda county district attorney nancy o'malley to learn about how the investigation is going and to

immigration authorities for about six months, fernando carrillo is a free man. his deportation was given new priority under the trump administration because he'd been convicted of a dui misdemeanor in 2015. last week a federal judge withdrew the order to remove carrillo after he proved he would be persecuted in mexico. carrillo can now apply for a work permit and hopes to become a citizen one day. daca.. he took to twitter to blame democrats for weak immigration policies. senator dianne feinstein responded to the president's comments.. she was taking part in a 'fireside chat' with about 200 business leaders in silicon valley. feinstein touched on issues including gun control, cyber- security and homelessness. with regard to daca...she blasted the president for changing his mind on the policy. (robin) feinstein says that between 60 and 85 percent of americans support the daca program. ( robin ) san francisco voters are two months away from choosing the next mayor for the city and county. there was a forum last night where candidates had a chance to talk about their goals.

says she lost her job after writing a facebook post about stephon clark. clark is the man shot and killed by sacramento police more than two weeks ago. officials at kaiser permanete's roseville medical center... say former staff member faith linthicum wrote this facebook post... claiming that clark was running from police and breaking into people's houses and that he quote: "he deserved it for being stupid."

( robin ) in the south bay... a horse is recovering... after crews rescued the animal... from being stuck upside down in a drainage ditch. it happened on calaveras road in milpitas. once at the scene firefighters used rescue glides... which are sheets of plastic used to slide a large animal along a rough surface... to remove the horse safely from the drainage ditch. rescuers say the horse only suffered a few scrapes. ( robin ) happening today... p-g-and-e crews will be back at work in santa rosa installing underground electric and gas lines in coffey park. the work began yesterday morning.

we showed it to you live right here on the kron 4 morning news. p-g-and-e is working with the city to replace all of the cables and transformers destroyed during the north bay firestorm. the will be installing 13 miles of electric cable and 15 miles of new gas mains and service lines. city officials say there is still a long way to go in the rebuilding process... but they are happy with the progress so far.

by the largest wildfire in recorded california history. hundreds of homes were destroyed or damaged. 21 people were killed and two are still listed as missing. in total... insurance claims reached 12-billon dollars for wildfires that burned across the state last year. ( robin ) the new tariffs that china imposed on the u-s could have a direct impact on people here in california. china is instituting a 15% tariff on almonds. and almond growers in california say that could cause a biug problem since 150 million pounds of california almonds end up in china each year. that accounts for about 10% of the world's almond market. ( robin ) california almond growers say will likely cause almond prices to rise... although it is not clear by how much.

( robin ) the n-t-s-b says it's "unhappy" with tesla's decision to release information in a deadly crash investigation involving its autopilot system. the crash happened last month in mountain view.. when a driver crashed into a concrete lane divider and was killed. tesla said that data shows the driver did not have his hands on the wheel... as recommended... and received several warnings from the system prior to the crash. the n-t-s-b says its next update will come in a preliminary report... which generally takes weeks to complete. ( robin ) happening now... crews in mendocino county are continuing their search for three missing kids after a car plunged off a cliff last week with the hart family inside. the bodies of 5 people including the parents and three adopted children were found at the crash. police are still looking for 15 year old devonte ...16 year old

hannah and 12 year old sierra. we have also learned that detectives are searching the familie's home in washington state ... as well as bank records and cell phone records. over the weekend investigators revealed that they believe the crash was intentional. they say the cars electronic information shows that the car stopped and then accelerated straight off the cliff. investigators are now trying to figure out why. ( robin ) in the north bay... a series of tests covering marin county has found lead in a drinking source at an elementary school in central marin. kron four's terisa estacio has the details. (estacio)the high levels of lead were discovered here at cove elementary school in marin county. the marin municipal water district started testing schools in the larkspur corte madera school district back in january as part of a newly passed state law. it was discovered that at one water source at cove,

the lead was .34 parts per billion. federal guidelines state lead should not be over .15 parts per billion. brett geithman. we asked for a new test and found that it was at one drinking fountain. we took it out immediately. the superintendent says testing at the other schools in the district did not reveal any problems. geithman. we plan to put in a new environmentally friendly fountain. superintendent geithman says the device will go in next week during spring break. a spokeperson with the marin municipal water district says they are about half way through testing all of the schools in their domain which incorporates central and southern marin county. north marin water district handles

novato schools. a water district spokeperson says tests results for the schools - are handled by the schools. lead in water has been linked to a long list of health complications for children including lowering iq and causing developmental problems. in marin county terisa estacio kron four news ( robin ) the "suspicious items" that forced an evacuation at stanford university...have been deemed not dangerous. police say the objects were actually just part of a student project. the building that students and faculty were evacuated from has been reopened. police closed panama street and campus drive to via ortega for the investigation. ( robin )anderson lopez- padilla is in jail this morning for brandishing a replica gun and evading police. santa rosa police say they received a call monday afternoon saying someone was driving around in a bmw cassing the area. the caller also said the driver pointed a shotgun at a family member.

( robin ) it's allergy season. and all over the world allergies and asthma cases are on the rise. now a new study suggests the medications children take now can increase their chances of getting allergies later in life. researchers say babies who take acid- supressive meds and antibiotics are more likely to develop allergic diseases later in life. they found babies under six months of age, who took antacids and antibiotics had an increased risk of allergies, asthma and hives. dosage also plays a role. the study says babies who took certain medications for more than 60 days had a 52-percent greater risk of being diagnosed with a food allergy. more than 421-million dollars in insurance claims have been filed since the deadly mudslides in santa barbara county.. that's according to the tate's insurance commissioner. so far insurers have received more than two-thousand claims. the storm in january dumped a large amount of rain on land that had been burned by the largest wildfire in recorded california history. hundreds of homes were destroyed or damaged. 21 people were killed and two are still listed as missing. in total... insurance claims reached 12-billon dollars for wildfires that burned across the state last year. three missing kids after a car plunged off a cliff last week with the hart family inside. the bodies of 5 people including the parents and three adopted children were found at the crash. police are still looking for 15 year old devonte ...16 year old hannah and 12 year old sierra. we have also learned that detectives are searching the familie's home in washington state ... as well as bank records and cell phone records. over the weekend investigators revealed that they believe the crash was intentional. they say the cars electronic information shows that the car stopped and then accelerated straight off the cliff. investigators are now trying to figure out why. marin county. the marin municipal water district started testing schools in the larkspur corte madera school district back in january as part of a newly passed state law. it was discovered that at one water source at cove, the lead was .34 parts per billion. federal guidelines state lead should not be over .15 parts per billion. brett geithman. we asked for a new test and found that it was at one drinking fountain. we took it out immediately. the superintendent says testing at the other schools in the district did not reveal any problems. geithman. we plan to put in a new environmentally friendly fountain. superintendent geithman says the device will go in next week during spring break. a spokeperson with the marin municipal water district says they are about half way through testing all of the schools in their domain which incorporates central and southern marin county. north marin water district handles

today... p-g-and-e crews will be back at work in santa rosa installing underground electric and gas lines in coffey park. the work began yesterday morning. we showed it to you live right here on the kron 4 morning news. p-g-and-e is working with the city to replace all of the cables and transformers destroyed during the north bay firestorm. they will be installing 13 miles of electric cable and 15 miles of new gas mains and service lines. city officials say there is still a long way to go in the rebuilding process... but they are happy with the progress so far.
