(robin) a big story we're following this morning ... police say a thief looking to steal pot killed a pleasant hill man inside his home. this is the first homicide for the city in the last six years.

kron4's ella sogomonian has the story. pleasant hill police say 23- year-old oshry elor was killed inside this home at norse drive and viking street saturday night just before 11:15. neighbors who witnessed the police activity say it's unusual for the area.sot: nurallah yassin, neighbor// "compared to where i used to live, i used to live in oakland this is like a piece of cake. it's like a cake walk. but last night was the first time i'd seen an incident of this nature." police believe elor was shot at several times by a thief who was after his marijuana in a robbery that turned fatal. this the first homicide for the city in six years.sot: corporal anderson, pleasant hill police department// "i think anytime a person hears about a loss of life it can be shocking but i do think that residents would be a little bit more alarmed to hear that it occurred in pleasant hill because it's so uncommon." streets were blocked off during the investigation that neighbors say went on until at least 4 in the morning. sot: jredwin yballa, neighbor// "honestly i was just wondering if everyone else was safe. especially the neighborhood concern there were a lot of cops it was closed off from one block to the other. no one

could come in, no one could leave or else they'd be forced to put in a report, be questioned and more paper work for the cops."police say elor died at the scene. (robin) that was kron 4's ella sogomonian reporting. police are using information from witnesses to find the gunman but they haven't released a description. (robin) a massive sideshow caused a lot of chaos sunday afternoon. it started with some of the members robbing an oakland gas station at gun point and ended with some arrests. kron 4's hermela aregawi has that story. three men are behind bars tonight.. after a side show that started in fruitvale.. and ended in north oakland - at claremont nad telegraph. daniel blair/witnesswhen i came through the intersection, they had about 10 police cars shutting down all of claremont street right there and as i drove through they were arresting one guy. he had a pick up truck with two motorcycles in the back, strapped in.richard

ritsch/oaklandyou know it's a blast when you see it at lake meritt. one night i saw it like golf links on the freeway, it was crazy because in the middle of the freeway they started doing donuts. i was like wow police say.. 911 dispatch received several calls from concerned residents from all across the oakland area. daniel blair/witness there was an ambulance in front of the apartment building right here, when i drove through there, i was like what the heck is going on. witnesses say.. the group of 60-70 bikers aggressively circled police and at some point even repeatedly kicked patrol cars. police tell us there were about four police vehicles at that time.. so officers called for back up. and shortly after that, three people were arrested. one of them for wreckless driving.. the other two for stealing some sort of bikes. ( darya ) ( darya ) a man is arrested on suspicion of murder and d-u-i for a crash in concord. the crash happened on highway 4, just

west of willow pass road on march 23-rd. jose amaya- rivera was driving when he crashed his s-u-v into another car. he and two of his female passengers were critically injured. one of the women died a week after the crash. amaya-rivera was arrested on saturday after he was released from the hospital. (robin) police have arrested eduardo antonio cha- var--ria---diaz in connection with the sexual assault of a high school jogger. the incident happened on march 28th...near the intersection of arastradero and deer creek roads. police say the man pulled the victim off the path, put a gun to her head and sexually assaulted her. after investigating, officers found cha-var-ria-diaz was involved in a similar situation that occurred in oakland last month. police arrested diaz in richmond sunday morning. (robin)a man is in jail after police say he attacked two victims at an oakland bart station. robert dolth of

san francisco was arrested after he stabbed two siblings in the head at the coliseum bart station. the victims told police they got on bart in south san francisco and noticied dolth was acting strange. feeling unsafe, they got off at the coliseum station. that's when dolth followed them and started attacking them. the female victim is in stable condition and her brother is in critcal condition. officials say dolth admitted to attacking the victims but did not give a motive. (robin) we're following the aftermath of the pineapple express that swept throught the bay area this past weekend. the storm caused power outages and flooding in some parts of the bay area. one of the hardest hit was stinson beach. kron 4's hermela aregawi has the story. believe it or not this used to be a parking lot..but after more than 24 hours of continuous rain... it looks more like a riversotit was

quite dramatic, the whole parking lot it's a wide rushing river, rushing.heavy rains friday caused the small creek nearby to flood..robert aptekar /stinson beachnever seen this. the entire parking lot, basically the asphalt has floated out onto the beach. i saw it earlier today from the beach side and came in and saw the garbage cans, large garbage cans that were six feet wide that were just floating down the river out onto the beach.sotsara stutz/stinson beachgoodness gracious i saw that the, i just though the parking lot was closed because of a little bit of water on the road here. but then i went on the beach there were huge cliffs of sand, where the dog parking was before the asphalt is gone. there are rocks and wood everywhere. and a huge portion of the parking lot is under water or ripped outthe parkside cafe along the beach.. was the hardest hit. employees say they spent most of friday night cleaning up water with the help of the fire department. and as of saturday, the market and the snack bar was still closed.. but the cage open for business.

(robin) in the north bay... it has been six months since the north bay fires destroyed more than 6-thousand homes... leaving more than 40 people dead. and causing billions of dollars in damage. those sonoma county neighborhoods are no where near being back to normal .... but families tell kron 4's ali reid, they are on a mission to rebuild. as flowers bloom in a disintegrated neighborhood, families in coffey park are caring for their properties as they withstand the rebuilding process.we lost everything. every day, larry keyser (key-zer) walks through his old neighborhood. he's been doing it consistently since his home of more than 3

decades was incinerated back in october 32 years, gone. gone.on the night of the fire, larry, his wife, and teenage son left their home expecting to come back to it all. everything, including family heirlooms went up in flames. wedding dresses from the 1860's i think. a black wedding dress and memorabilia from post civil war. and you cannot put a price on that.i held my 16 year old son, as big as me. we just stood there and criedover the last six months, families have gone from grief .... acceptance ... cleanup .... to insurance claims. some have even started on their new foundation. the keyser family is waiting on sketches from their architect. we're gonna go with the original. change the insides we're ready to move on get the plans and have some positive things in our lives.while cal fire continues to investigate the cause of the deadly northbay fires, government

(robin) it's been nearly three months since the montecito mudslides damaged more than a hundred homes. but one small miracle just emerged from the mud. a mudslide survivor says she lost many of her belongs but held out hope for her wedding rings. alys martinez has the story.

natscontractor ann burgard was clearing and sifting through dirt and mud on mari and hank mitchel's propertywhen she found this frayed little bag. . in a massive pile of mud.ann burgard/ general contractor: "it was right by this pergola right here in the corner."the mitchel's survived the january 9th disaster when their home on santo thomas lane was hit by a wall of mud and badly damaged.they waited hours to be rescued.mari mitchel/ montecito:"i'm grateful to be alive, and my husband too." mitchel had put her wedding rings. . a watch. . and a special pendant. . into the small pouch in preparation for the storm.the bag washed away with most of her belongings. bergard says the bag was on her mind each time she carefully combed through the mud.ann burgard/ general contractor:"i know from the very beginning this was the one thing that mari was hoping for."when she finally saw it. .she started shaking. . and ran to tell mitchel. mari mitchel/ montecito:"we weren't sure. the zipper was jammed, so she went and got a knife.

and as she got the knife, there was a little jiggling sound, and we were kinda holding our breath. but i knew."this is the photo taken after the bag was ripped open. mitchel clearly emotional. . burgard was too."i just happened to be the eyes on it at that moment. but it was found because there's people hanging on to glimpses of hope and all that energy working together."mitchel calls the find a tiny miracle. . with a big lesson."there's a message in it that says don't give up. just don't give up. even if it's a little thing that feels impossible, don't give up." (robin) that was alys that was that was alys martinez reporting. the montecito mudslides are set to cost insurance companies more than 421 million dollars in claims. (robin) former san francisco 49er and oakland raider aldon smith has been arrested again....this time in san francisco. and his bond was set at half a million dollars. he was arrested friday for violating three charges of a

protective order. those stem from domestic violence charges back in march. this is previously shot video. smith was arraigned thursday and told to wear an electronic ankle device that monitors sweat. there was a violation and he was then arrested friday. he will face a judge on wednesday. (robin) two men have been convicted of first-degree murder in the 2012 killing of a man in san francisco. this according to district attorney george gascon. the murder happened on july 13th, 2012...when gary smith was shot and killed near the baldwin hotel on sixth street. at the time of the incident, prosecutors said the two men approached smith, one of them said something to him, and the other pointed a large gun at him and fired three shots. (robin) facebook's ceo is heading to capitol hill this week. lawmakers are demanding answers from mark zuckerberg -- after a data firm with ties to the trump campaign mishandled data from

officer running into the youtube property where the shots had been fired. take a listen.(robin) that officer is getting credit for his bravery online. police say that in the last ten years training across the country has changed. in california most departments now teach officers to go straight in if there is an active shooter situation instead of waiting. statistics have shown that a majority of the time when confronted, a shooter will either surrender or kill themselves right away. (robin) today-- national guard troops will be along the united states mexico border. already -- four-hundred guardsmen from texas and arizona have been deployed to secure the southern boundary. once those troops are in place -- thousands more may be sent. camila bernal has more on the military move. along the vast united states mexico border -- it's not

uncommon to see this.a u-s border patrol agent keeping watch.according to the national border patrol council -- the agency is about two- thousand agents short of it's congressionally mandated minimum.but -- the border patrol will get some help. troops from the national guard have started to arrive brigadier general tracy norris / texas military department: "this deployment has begun with the movement of equipment and troops."the move comes as a caravan of migrants make their way through mexico.with some bound for the united states.edna morales/ lives in arizona: "i'm mexican, i think that they are treating us like we are bringing terror to the united states and crime and that's not true."while the deployment is meant to help secure the southern line -- united states law limits what the national guard can do. troops will not be able to enforce immigration laws. instead -- the guard will serve in support roles like training and construction.both presidents bush and obama sent

troops to the border during their terms, though the moves were criticized as costly and of limited effectiveness. for those who live along the border -- reactions are mixed. -no name provided- "i think somebody coming down here and helping out the border patrol and all that, i think will really help."edna morales/ lives in arizona: "that's not going to help at all. that's not going to stop people coming to the united states." (robin) border patrol officers found an empty horse trailer that they say was used in a human smuggling operation. it happened sunday near san diego. officers say the strong winds may have caused the horse trailer to over turn. the carriage was carrying at least 18 people ... and border patrol says it was a human smuggling operation. when first responders arrived - the trailer was empty. after the crash, the people inside tried to hide in the rocks and bushes.

to organize them, assess them, and then bring them up to the highway here to be treated."> (robin) four men and two women were hospitalized. the border patrol took the rest into custody. (robin) communities are in mourning after a fatal bus crash involving a canadian hockey team friday night. at least 15 people were killed and 14 people were injured. the bus carrying members of the humboldt broncos junior hockey team collided with a tractor-trailer on the way to a playoff game. the saint augustine catholic church in humboldt honored the victims in a sunday morning service. the cause of the crash is being investigated. (robin) hawaii governor david ige has signed a bill that legalizes medically assisted suicide. hawaii is now the 6th state to legalize the practice.... this allows doctors to fulfill requests from terminally ill patients for prescription medication, that will allow them to die. ige says the

measure gives full control to those patients, so they don't suffer. the legislation does include safeguards intended to prevent abuse. (robin) a scary scene when a landslide took out an apartment building. the landslide took out a huge chunk of route 30. cell phone video up close shows the depth of the alarming collapse. pennsylvania department of transportation says the road dropped 30 feet. one apartment building was crushed by the landslide - - but it was already evacuated. (robin) there's evidence that the weakening foundation is spreading to north braddock. evacuations have begun there as well. in the east bay - hundreds of bay area students are heading to the state capitol to talk gun control with lawmakers. kron 4's ella sogomonian met with those student activists and has their story. pkg two east bay teens have been brought together by one cause: gun control. they are among 350 students from 35 different schools that have banded together in just two weeks to form a group called bay area student activists. ...and in another two weeks they're headed to the state's capitol on a mission to influence lawmakers.sot: elina

juvonen, bay area student activist// "this is not something that i'd expect myself to do i'm a pretty shy person and i wouldn't expect myself to be contacting people at different schools or talking to lawmakers or anything but i really hope that this will be something that represents the youth in california."they're driven to action by mass shootings in schools across america... and local gun violence.the teens say they were inspired by students and families impacted by the florida school shooting who instead of mourning in silence, stood up to lawmakers demanding tighter restrictions on firearms.sot: ruby bayden-lasar, bay area student activist// " just seeing the activism of these students and personally felt really connected through social media with them and beign able to see the lives of these victims before they were shot and killed, and seeing how they could have kept living and nobody would have known about any of them but they're parents are taking action and they're not going to be silenced."they're now joining the movement by scheduling meetings with more than a dozen assemblymen and staffers in sacramento to

(robin) it's baptism by fire for john bolton. today is his first day as president trump's national security adviser. and there's already a crisis for him to address. john lorinc reports. national security adviser john bolton starts his new position addressing this weekend's suspected chemical attack in syria.video coming out of eastern ghouta appears to show hundreds of people bombarded with a suspected chemical agent. dozens of deaths are reported. this follows a

(robin) happening today ... opening statements are expected in bill cosby's retrial. he's accused of sexually assaulting andrea constand. the first trial ended in a hung jury and declared a mistrial. just days out from the trial, ohio state university revoked cosby's honorary degree. the degree was awarded to him in 2001. (robin) narcan and the epi-pen are both life saving drugs but one is more expensive than the other and harder to find epi-pen's are used to fight allergic reactions or cardiac arrest. it costs five times as much as narcan, which has been used to revive some from an opioid overdose. a nationwide shortage of epipen's could be driving up the cost. but, grants and funding for the opioid epidemic are keeping the price of naloxone affordable.

(robin) many police departments have k-9 units.but officers in troy, michigan, want to add felines to their ranks. they started looking into what they call "catidates" for the first police feline on friday. the department tweeted last month that it would get a cat if it had 10-thousand followers by april. officers say they want to show their human side. friday's event was the first round of selection for a police job. but even if they don't get recruited into the line of duty, the kittens will be up for adoption into loving families. month. the incident happened on march 28th... near the intersection of arastradero and deer creek roads. police say the suspect pulled the victim off the path, put a gun to her head and sexually assaulted her. after investigating, officers found chavarria-diaz was involved in a similar situation that occurred in oakland last month. police obtained a search warrant and made the arrest yesterday morning in richmond. ... pleasant hill police are investigating the first homicide in the city in the last six years. 23- year-old oshry elor was killed inside this home at norse drive and viking street saturday night. police believe elor was shot by a robber who was trying to steal his marijuana. the shooting had neighbors rattled: ( darya ) police have not released a description of ( james ) a martinez unified school district employee has been placed on administrative leave for an alleged sex crime. school officials say ahmed ismaiel -- an employee in the technology department, was arrested on charges related to an attempt to engage in illegal sexual contact with a minor. he started working for the

district in 20-15. the superintendent of schools says they don't believe the alleged crime involves current or former students. ( james ) also in the east bay ... three men are behind bars after a motorcycle sideshow that caused a lot of chaos. this is video of the sideshow yesterday afternoon. you can see them circling in front of police. witnesses say they even repeatedly kicked patrol cars. it started in fruitvale ... and ended in north oakland - at claremont and telegraph. police say some of bikers robbed an oakland gas station at gun point. about 60 to 70 people were involved in the sideshow. one of the bikers was arrested for wreckless driving ... the other two for stealing bikes. ( darya ) a man is arrested on suspicion of murder and d-u-i for a crash in concord. the crash happened on highway 4, just west of willow pass road on march 23-rd. jose amaya- rivera was driving when he

crashed his s-u-v into another car. he and two of his female passengers were critically injured. one of the women died a week after the crash. amaya-rivera was arrested on saturday after he was released from the hospital. ( darya ) police in moraga have a new warning about credit card fraud. recently more people have had their credit card numbers skimmed through devices on card readers in moraga. then the stolen information is being used in southern california. police say gas pumps are easy targets for credit card skimming. officers have been going to gas stations in moraga and inspecting pumps for the devices. ( james ) a man is arrested after police say he stabbed two victims in the head at an oakland bart station. robert dolth of san francisco was arrested at the coliseum bart station. the victims told police they got on bart in south san francisco on saturday and noticied dolth was acting erratically. feeling unsafe, they got off at the coliseum station. that's

when dolth followed and started attacking them. both the female victim and her brother were hospitalized. the brother is in critcal condition. officials say dolth admitted to attacking the victims but did not give a reason why. ( james ) two people are shot in the parking lot of a home depot in emeryville. police received multiple calls of gunshots coming from a party bus that was in the parking lot sunday morning. police say two parked cars were hit by bullets. there have been no arrests. ( james ) former san francisco 49er and oakland raider aldon smith has been arrested again. bond is set at half a million dollars for the 28 year old. arrest records show he was taken in on friday in san francisco for violating three charges of a protective order. those stem from domestic violence charges back in march. this is video of aldon coming out of jail from previous arrests. smith was arraigned last thursday and ordered to wear an electronic ankle monitor. there was a violation and he was then

arrested. he will be in court again on wednesday. ( darya ) two men have been convicted of first-degree murder in the 2012 killing of a san francisco man. the murder happened in july 2012 ...when gary smith was shot and killed near the baldwin hotel on sixth street. prosecutors say trumillion ballard and anthony pratt got into a fight with the victim over money for the purchase of a dog. smith was shot three times and died. video from nearby businesses caught the shooting on camera. ( darya ) happening today ... facebook will begin alerting the 87 million users whose personal information may have been mishandled by the data firm cambridge analytica. this announcement comes as facebook c-e-o mark zuckerberg is set to testify before congress amid the fallout. he'll appear before the senate judiciary committee tomorrow. a house committee will hear from him on wednesday. this week we

could learn if even more people had their information harvested by the data firm. credit for his bravery of running into the deadly situation and trying to stop it. he has not been identified by police. in california, most police departments teach officers to go straight in if there is an active shooter instead of waiting. ( james ) in mendocino county ... a body has been found in the ocean, near the crash site that killed at least 5 members of a family. the body was discovered saturday afternoon near the town of westport. deputies tell kron 4... the body appears to be an african american woman. three members of the hart family are still missing... two girls and a boy. the bodies of jennifer and sara hart... along with three of their six children... were recovered last month after their suv plunged off a cliff. authorities believe the crash was intentional. ( james ) a car plunged one

hundred feet off a cliff on coleman road. it happened near bodega bay. this is video of the rescue. c-h-p says they found the car on the beach with a 55-year-old woman and her dog alive. the woman is recovering in the hospital. ( darya ) a pilot is dead after he crashed a small plane in petaluma. sonoma county sheriff's office got a call from the u-s air force about an emergency transponder that was activated in petaluma. shortly after a woman called petaluma police saying her husband had not come home. the pilot's family told authorities he left the petaluma airport on his way to san diego county. ( darya ) berkeley police have arrested the person involved in a strong-armed robbery near u-c berkeley. it happened at people's park in berkely saturday morning. police say the robber pulled the victim's cellphone from his hands and kicked and punched him. officers arrested the robber a short time later. the victim suffered minor injuries.

the attackers name has not yet been released. ( darya )today-- national guard troops will be along the u-s and mexico border. four-hundred guardsmen from texas and arizona have been deployed.( james )once those troops are in place -- thousands more may be sent. camila bernal is in texas with the story. camila bernal / hidalgo, tx: "the national guard is arriving to help border patrol agents who are stationed in areas like this one along the u.s. mexico border. texas already has 100 national troops in this area, but they will be sending 250 more. arizona is promising to send 150 troops all to help what the president is calling an immigration crisis."along the vast united states mexico border -- it's not uncommon to see this.a u-s border patrol agent keeping watch.according to the national border patrol council -- the agency is about two-thousand agents short of it's congressionally mandated minimum.but -- the border patrol will get some help. troops from the national guard have started to arrive brigadier general tracy norris / texas military department:

arastradero and deer creek roads. police say the suspect pulled the victim off the path, put a gun to her head and sexually assaulted her. after investigating, officers found chavarria-diaz was involved in a similar situation that occurred in oakland last month. police obtained a search warrant and made the arrest yesterday morning in richmond. ( james ) a martinez unified school district employee has been placed on administrative leave for an

alleged sex crime. school officials say ahmed ismaiel -- an employee in the technology department, was arrested on charges related to an attempt to engage in illegal sexual contact with a minor. he started working for the district in 20-15. the superintendent of schools says they don't believe the alleged crime involves current or former students. ( darya ) a massive sideshow caused a lot of chaos sunday afternoon. it started with some of the members robbing an oakland gas station at gun point and ended with some arrests. kron 4's hermela aregawi has that story. three men are behind bars tonight.. after a side show that started in fruitvale.. and ended in north oakland - at claremont nad telegraph. daniel blair/witnesswhen i came through the intersection, they had about 10 police cars shutting down all of claremont street right there and as i drove through they were arresting one guy. he had a pick up truck with two motorcycles in the back, strapped in.richard ritsch/oaklandyou know it's a

blast when you see it at lake meritt. one night i saw it like golf links on the freeway, it was crazy because in the middle of the freeway they started doing donuts. i was like wow police say.. 911 dispatch received several calls from concerned residents from all across the oakland area. daniel blair/witness there was an ambulance in front of the apartment building right here, when i drove through there, i was like what the heck is going on. witnesses say.. the group of 60-70 bikers aggressively circled police and at some point even repeatedly kicked patrol cars. police tell us there were about four police vehicles at that time.. so officers called for back up. and shortly after that, three people were arrested. one of them for wreckless driving.. the other two for stealing some sort of bikes. ( darya )( darya ) a man is arrested on suspicion of murder and d-u-i for a crash in concord.

the crash happened on highway 4, just west of willow pass road on march 23-rd. jose amaya-rivera was driving when he crashed his s-u-v into another car. he and two of his female passengers were critically injured. one of the women died a week after the crash. amaya-rivera was arrested on saturday after he was released from the hospital. ( darya ) police in moraga have a new warning about credit card fraud. recently more people have had their credit card numbers skimmed through devices on card readers in moraga. then the stolen information is being used in southern california. police say gas pumps are easy targets for credit card skimming. officers have been going to gas stations in moraga and inspecting pumps for the devices. ( james ) authorities in solano county came up on a major drug bust sunday morning. a deputy ran a license plate check on a car with a 20-18 sticker and found the

car's registration was expired. the deputy pulled the driver over and searched the vehicle...and found nearly a pound of meth and 800 dollars cash. the suspect was arrested on numerous charges. ( james ) a man is arrested after police say he stabbed two victims in the head at an oakland bart station. robert dolth of san francisco was arrested at the coliseum bart station. the victims told police they got on bart in south san francisco on saturday and noticied dolth was acting erratically. feeling unsafe, they got off at the coliseum station. that's when dolth followed and started attacking them. both the female victim and her brother were hospitalized. the brother is in critcal condition. officials say dolth admitted to attacking the victims but did not give a reason why. ( james ) two people are shot in the parking lot of a home depot in emeryville. police received multiple calls of gunshots coming from a party bus that was in the parking lot sunday morning. police say two parked cars

were hit by bullets. there have been no arrests. ( darya ) pacifica police is asking for help with their special needs registry. parents and care providers in pacifica are encouraged to enroll people of any age suffering from a disability or mental health condition. the registry will help if a person gets lost or needs assistance. the registry will contain a picture of the person, a physical description and emergency contact information. devastation ( darya ) in world news ... dozens of people in syria have died in a chemical attack. now the u-n security council is set to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the situation and possible actions. we want to warn you the video you are about to see is disturbing. in this video you can see people, including children, suffering from a chemical attack. local rescuers say at least 48 people, including children, died in the attack. that includes families found in their homes and shelters. the syrian government is denying they were behind the attack. the white house has condemed the attack but has not said what it plans to do next. ( darya ) former san francisco 49er and oakland raider aldon smith has been arrested again. bond is set at half a million dollars for the 28 year old. arrest records show he was taken in on friday in san francisco for violating three charges of a protective order. those stem from domestic violence charges back in march. this is video of aldon from previous arrests and court appearances. smith was arraigned last thursday and ordered to wear an electronic ankle monitor. there was a violation and he was then arrested. he will be in court again on wednesday. ( darya ) two men have been convicted of first-degree

murder in the 2012 killing of a san francisco man. the murder happened in july 2012 ...when gary smith was shot and killed near the baldwin hotel on sixth street. prosecutors say trumillion ballard and anthony pratt got into a fight with the victim over money for the purchase of a dog. smith was shot three times and died. video from nearby businesses caught the shooting on camera. ( james ) in mendocino county ... a body has been found in the ocean, near the crash site that killed at least 5 members of a family. the body was discovered saturday afternoon near the town of westport. deputies tell kron 4... the body appears to be an african american woman. three members of the hart family are still missing... two girls and a boy. the bodies of jennifer and sara hart... along with three of their six children... were recovered last month after their suv plunged off a cliff. authorities believe the crash was intentional. ( james ) a car plunged one hundred feet off a cliff on coleman road. it happened near bodega bay. this is video of the rescue. c-h-p

says they found the car on the beach with a 55-year-old woman and her dog alive. the woman is recovering in the hospital. ( darya ) a pilot is dead after he crashed a small plane in petaluma. sonoma county sheriff's office got a call from the u-s air force about an emergency transponder that was activated in petaluma. shortly after a woman called petaluma police saying her husband had not come home. the pilot's family told authorities he left the petaluma airport on his way to san diego county. ( darya ) berkeley police have arrested the person involved in a strong-armed robbery near u-c berkeley. it happened at people's park in berkely saturday morning. police say the robber pulled the victim's cellphone from his hands and kicked and punched him. officers arrested the robber a short time later. the victim suffered minor injuries. the attackers name has not yet been released. hundreds of bay area students are heading to the state capitol to talk gun control with lawmakers.within those students are two teens that were brought together by one cause... gun control. they are among 350 students from 35 different schools that banded together in just two weeks to form a group called bay area student activists.and in just two more weeks they're headed to the states capitol on a mission to influence lawmakers. they're driven to action by mass shootings across america and local gun violence. ( james )they're now joining the movement by scheduling meetings with more than a dozen assembly men and staffers in sacramento to present their concerns and solutions.the bay area student activists have launched a go fund me page to help pay for the buses they'll need to get to the state's capitol. ( james ) it's been nearly three months since the montecito mudslides damaged more than a hundred homes. but one small miracle just emerged from the mud.( darya ) a mudslide survivor says she lost many of her belongs but held out hope for her wedding rings. alys martinez has the story. natscontractor ann burgard was clearing and sifting through dirt and mud on mari and hank mitchel's propertywhen she found this frayed little bag. . in a massive pile of mud.ann burgard/ general contractor: "it was right by this pergola right here in the corner."the mitchel's survived the january 9th disaster when their home on santo thomas lane was hit by a wall of mud and badly damaged.they waited hours to be rescued.mari mitchel/ montecito:"i'm grateful to be alive, and my husband too." mitchel had put her wedding rings. . a watch. . and a

( darya ) border patrol officers found an empty horse trailer that they say was used in a human smuggling operation. it happened sunday near san diego. officers say the strong winds may have caused the horse trailer to over turn. the carriage was carrying at least 18 people ... and border patrol says it was a human smuggling operation. when first responders arrived - the trailer was empty. after the crash, the people inside tried to hide in the rocks and bushes. were hospitalized. the border patrol took the rest into custody and continued searching the area. ( james ) as we await opening statements today in bill cosby's sexual assault retrial... police arrest a topless protester who jumped a barricade and got within a few feet of the entertainer as he walked into a suburban philadelphia courthouse this morning. cosby is accused of sexually assaulting andrea constand. he has denied the allegations. the first trial ended in a hung jury and declared a mistrial. cosby's attorneys have argued that he and constand had a consenting sexual relationship.
