the investigation... and none of the threats have been deemed credible. (grant) a developing story we are following tonight-- it appears that problems with soil samples at the hunter's point naval shipyard are much worse than previously thought. earlier this year the navy real that nearly 50% of tests done by a contractor on portions of the site m have been falsified. kron4's maureen kelly talked to an environmental advocacy group who says newly obtained public records from the epa.... paint a much more disturbing picture. the level of remaining radio activity on this site is now unknown this is the letter from the epa to the navy which lays out the problem in black in white.it states that instead of half the soil samples conducted by a subcontractor being questionaable.....they found 90% of the soil survey from parcel b....and 97% of samples from parcel g of the hunter's point naval shipyard are suspect. that letter was obtained by the dc based advocacy group public employees for environmental responsibility, or peer.

are following tonight-- sacramento's police department have issued its first written policy on when officers can turn off body cameras. this comes after two officers muted their microphones

following the deadly shooting of stephon clark. the police department says this is the first time officers have received written direction on when the cameras or the audio can be turned off. the memo says officers can turn off cameras in limited circumstances including dealing with a victim of sexual assault, or if a supervisor instructs them to do so. officers now must also verbalize their reason for turning off the microphone. (vicki) the santa clara county registrar of voters say it needs around 5-thousand to 6-thousand election officers to serve in over eight hundred polling places for the june 5th election. the registrar is seeking bilingual support in 19 different languages. officer responsibilities include answering procedural questions and otherwise helping voters exercise their voting rights while being stationed at polling places throughout the county on june 5th. staff says those who are u-s citizens registered to vote as a permanent redent and are 18r older can be an election officer. the registrar will also hire high school students who are at least 16 years old. investigating a shooting that happened around 11 last night. four people were shot outside the marinia vista apartments. when they arrived there weren't and victims or suspects at the scene -- but found a two cars parked next to each other... srayed with bullet holes and with blood smears on the outside. reports say two 27-year-old men and two 23-year-old women brought themselves to the sutter medical center in vallejo. police say all four did not cooperate with the shooting investigation and there have been no arrests in the case. (vicki) on the peninsula.. . a man has pleaded not guilty to threatening to kill staff of congresswoman jackie speier. 52-year-old ronald lafaye appeared in court yesterday. he is accused of leaving voicemails at speier's office-- threatening to kill and harm her staff members. prosecutors say lafaye had no problem with speier-- but he has a history of making criminal threats. lafaye will return to court later this month-- and he remains in

custody on 150-thousand dollars bail. is reunited with his children after a woman stole the car they were sitting in from bee line for mexico, and his ar 9-1-1 from the back seat helped authorities stop her. kelly hessedal has the story . a vehicle stolen near lincoln park with two children inside was located monday after being driven to the u.s.-mexico border, according to authorities. the female suspect, leslie esparanza saenz, 26, was taken into custody. according to san diego police, the children's father parked his hyundai outside a business in the 200 block of euclid avenue leaving a 3-year-old boy and 8-year old girl inside with the air conditioning and engine running. while the man was in a beauty supply store, a witness observed a woman get into the car and drive away with the kids inside. the father reportedly called police and the 8-year-old child in the car was also able to call 911 from a cell phone telling authorities that she and her brother had been kidnapped. officers on scene contacted chula vista police and border patrol to give them information on the stolen car and children. approximately 30

minutes later, border patrol detained the suspect as she was trying to take the vehicle, with the children inside, across the border to mexico. police arrived on scene and took the woman into custody. no injuries were reported.

subcontracto from two big chunks of land at the decommissioned naval shipyard turned superfund clean up site were possibly flawed. but as this letter obtained by peer, an environmental advocacy group shows....the epa took another look at the samples and found the problem was much bigger.and they said no no it's not 48% or bad it's between 90 and 97% are bad and it's a whole array of problems that suggest at the very least malfeasanceduring an interview by skype's peer's executive director told me post world war two navy ships used in hydrogen bomb tests were brought to this shipyard for decontaimination.....and left behind radioactivite pollution. the samples were from land that's slated to be turned over to a developer and transformed into thousands of housing units....but that had handover has been delayed the navy says they will need to retest the soil ffor containmention.....a navy representative told the public at an open house eariler this year that could happen this summer but no definative timeline has been laid out.

(pam) new tonight at 6. california lawmakers decided against adopting a zero tolerance policy on people under the age of 21 .... who drive under the influence of marijuana. a bill proposed by state senator jerry hill of san mateo, called for a one-year suspension of driver's licenses for minors who are caught driving with marijuana in their system. however, the proposal was met with opposition from drug legalization advocates, and lawmakers .... who felt that the law could lead to disproportionate targeting of minorities. instead, a first offense will result in a warning.. a second offense will result in a point on the driver's record and only the third offense will result in a suspended license. (gran san jose mayor sam liccardo is cracking down on the city council travel policy -- after five council- members and multiple staff members traveled to japan this

(grant) but now, a "cooler" approach to yoga gaining steam -- and it involves practicing on the water. reporter sophie heinemann dives in to find out what the fuss is all about. angie shoup is no stranger to yoga... but that doing it on the water is a whole different story.
