looked like she had been assaulted beaten up and asked her if she needed help sonoma county detectives say the 24 year old victim called a ride sharing company to take her home from bruno's in the mission district around 5 in the morning -- but when she got inside the vehicle -- she wasn't the only one in the back seat.they believe she got into the wrong car -- not the one that she called for!the driver took her and the man next to her to sonoma ... where she says she was beaten, choked and sexually assaulted by both the passenger and the driver.thats what initially got her nervous was that they were not going to her house they were taking her far away from her home so thats when she first became suspicious that something was upmichelle kingston, @mkingstonnews"she says she was able to escape but left a pair of boots, her identification and her cell phone behind."detectives say she was found near this safeway with injuries on her face and neck.they have this advice for anyone who uses ride sharing services...we

still think uber and lyft are very safe ways of transportation. these are very, for the amount of rides that are given, they are few and far between but we just want you to take extra precautionif you have any information on this case -- you're asked to contact the sonoma county sheriff's office. in san francisco, michelle kingston, kron 4 news (robin) all four bodies of the family members who disappeared during a road trip in california -- have been recovered. a mendocino county sheriff's officer.. located the 12- year-old son of the thottapilly family yesterday afternoon. the sheriff's office also says, the bodies of the 41-year-old father and his nine-year-old daughter were pulled from the eel river near the town of leggett on saturday. searchers have also recovered the body of the 38-year-mother. the family was on a west coast trip when they vanished. their s-u-v has been found. (robin) police have released new video of the moments after stephon clark was shot and killed by sacramento police last month. this is new video of an

officer speaking with a neighbor who lives next to stephon clark's grandmother. he was shot in her backyard. the newly released videos satisfies a sacramento city mandate that all video and audio from an officer-involved shooting be released within 30 days of a shooting. neither the clark family nor the city has released a statement in response to the latest video release. police say clark was a burglary suspect who they áthought was holding a gun when they shot him. he only had a cellphone on (robin) new this morning ... a 23 year old man is behind bars on suspicion of auto burglary in emeryville. police say they found alex mills sitting in a truck that did not belong to him on the 12-hundred block of 6th street. he was also arrested for identity theft. after searching him ... police say they found personal information belonging to several different people. ... neighbors are fed up and trying to put a stop to it... the community held a meeting with city and county leaders to talk about ways to combat this growing problem kron 4's ali reid has more on what council members are saying. council members were asked direct questions as to how they plan on addressing this issue.illegal dumping has spiraled out of control. residents now believe it is a health crisis.pkgfrom needles .... to toilets .... broken furniture ... bicycles, and old tires ... illegal dumping in oakland is a problem.

focus and attention. it's toxic at some point. when it rains, what comes out? it goes in the storm drain and then to the bay. so it's more than oakland. it grows. we gotta deal with it.as the city council examines the budget going forward, east oakland families have tough questions about allocation. some council members want to bring back dumping crews as well as litter enforcement officers.i have video and pictures of people dumping, but until i have someone at the city level that can site you and fine you, nothing's ever gonna change.i for one very much support bringing back those enforcement officers, they're the ones that do the research to see whats causing the dumping, where it's coming from. who should we be holding accountable? and that type pf that proactive problem solving will help us get to the root of the problem, not just keep on picking up after people that cant clean up their own messes.standupif the mayor's suggestions are put on the ballot and approved by the city council, that could go into effect by next summer. reporting live in oakland .. ali reid ... kron 4 news

(robin) san jose was rattled by a magnitude 3- point-8 earthquake. the earthquake happened on monday morning. as kron four's rob fladeboe reports ... the shaking was accompanied by thunder and lightning. "....i heard the thunder first and then i felt the car shaking..."the shaking, which coincided with heavy rain, thunder andlightning, about 9:40 this morning, rattled windows in buildings across the valley and it did not go unnoticed here at capitol square in san jose's alum rock district. "....i was in bed and it just started shaking and i thought it has to be am earthquake..." "...it was just kind of rocking back

and forth and my son said is everything okay...."it turns out the epicenter of the magnitude 3-point-8 temblor, was about half way between san jose and fremont on the calaveras fault, which is known for unleashing quakes of this size says the u.s. geological survey's keith knudsen.keith knudsen/usgs "...this is a part of the fault that creeps so it moves more slowly, it's also a place where the calaveras fault and hayward merge so it complicates things with a lot of movement between earthquakes....yes, there were a couple of similar quakes on this section of the calaveras fault late last year. the last significant quake here was a magnitude 5-point-5 temblor back in 2007. and no, the usgs says there is no such thing as earthquake weather so no connection with the rain, thunder and lightning. but it definitely got our attention ...i was just sitting a at my desk and it started rocking back and forth and i thought, oh my god, rain, thunder, lightning, earthquake, it must be california...."rob fladeboe "...the usgs says this was pretty much business as usual for the calaveras quake and that there is only a very slim chance that today's temblor is an indication of a bigger quake still to come in san jose rob fladeboe kron 4 news

(robin) in san francisco, there is a new push underway to regulate e- scooters. so far this year, three e-scooter companies have opened shop in the city. now city officials are pushing back saying, safety concerns are not being met. kron 4's charles clifford has the details . . on monday , the san francisco city attorney sent 3 cease and desist letters to e-scooter companies bird, lime and spin. city officials says they have recieved numerous complaints about the scooters including that people are riding them illegally on sidewalks and that users aren't wearing helmets. the scooters are also being discarded in random

places.the city is now insisting that these three companies immediatly stop any illegal activity. on monday, the san francisco board of supervisors land use and transportation committe discussed the issue. while there is support for alternative forms of transportation that might help relieve vehicle congestion, the supervisors says the rules need to be in place for how these scooters are managed.sot

(robin) the san francisco police department is offering a 50 thousand dollar reward for information on an unsolved murder case. in 2012 ...allen vance was traveling with his daughter chastity dolli-son when their car ran out of gas. while waiting for a friend in their car , a person approached their car and fired shots at them. vance and his daughter died. a family friend in the backseat was also shot but survived. (robin) the starbucks c-e-o is apologizing after two black men were arrested at a philadelphia store last week. the two men, who were asked to leave for not being paid customers, have agreed to meet with c-e-o kevin johnson. natasha chen shows us why protests and fallout continue -- as starbucks works to contain the damage. (mos) what did they get called for? because they're two black guys sitting here, meeting me? this man arrived at a philadelphia starbucks store thursday, to find that the friends he was supposed to meet, two black men, were being arrested.(mos) well, what did they do?(mos) they didn't do anything. i saw the entire thing. philadelphia police said starbucks employees told them the two men did not buy anything and asked to use the bathroom, which they do not allow non- paying customers to access. the men said they were there waiting for their friend. employees told them to leave. when the men did not, employees called police.today, starbucks announced the store manager is no longer working

(robin) illegal dumping has been a problem in the bay area for years and it only seems to be getting worse... but one east bay city seems to have been hit the hardest .. kron 4's stanley roberts has more on this edition of people behaving badly. near the intersection of

louisiana and railroad in oakland, sits a boat,the boat is not sitting on a trailer it's sitting on the ground its been dumped vandalized by taggers nats: ambiance the last time the boat was registered was in 2017 and it even had it's mussel fees paid the inside of the boat is filled with garbage and pallets nats: ambiance outside the boat trash bags from what appear to be from an illegal marijuana grow it all sits in from a lot which is set to be developed on oakland has a problem, and it's illegal dumping but it's not a new problem it's just an out of control problem. for the record this is not the first time i've looked at the issue (2008 package)these are just some of the things i found discarded on the curb in the district sometimes known for its historic homes in fact the first time was in june of 2008.. where looked around the lake merritt section to show you what was going on.. it has gone from mattresses and couches to piles upon piles of trash from west oakland to the far reaches of

east oakland with no end in sight.. for example pearmain street in east oakland has been a hot spot for years.to the point that business are considering moving out of the area nats: ambiance over at the intersection of hale and douglas sits a toilet and inside this fence trash, and rotting food .a block away the first thing i see is this syringe sitting on the ground the part that i must mention is this some of the illegal dumping can't be cleaned up by the city of oakland because it either sits on private property or like here on union pacific right of way nats: ambiance the problem in oakland has reached crisis levels and now it's being addressed however had been seriously tackled back in 2008 when it was a small problem. it wouldn't be a huge problem in 2018 which begs the question, can we put the cat back inside the bag it's not impossible but it will be a uphill battle in oakland stanley roberts kron 4 news
