( robin )this morning we''re hearing from 49er star... reuben foster's ex girlfriend... elissa ennis.in a statement from from her attorney... ennis claims her injuries were the result of a fight with another woman and that foster never hit her. she says she initially lied to police because she was "extremely upset" -- and told foster if he broke up with her she'd trash his career..." foster was arraigned on domestic violence charges earlier this month after allegations that he battered his former girlfriend.

d-a's office on these new developments. however... the prosecutor says his office is prepared to move ahead with the case... even if the victim refuses to testify. ( robin )an apartment that was under construction and caught on fire tuesday... is partly demolished. crews started tearing the building down thursday morning... but by the end of the day... authorities announced they could not finish because they need more time. they plan on returning today. the apartment next door is now working with a remediation firm to air out the building... so the air quality can improve.

( robin )for your health this morning... a confirmed hantavirus infection has prompted a public health warning in the bay area. it happened in santa cruz county... where one person caught an infection caused by hantavirus. hantavirus pulmonary syndrome... often known as h-p-s... is caused by a virus found in rodent urine... droppings... and saliva. people typically contract the infection when entering or cleaning buildings where rodents are present. any surfaces that may be contaminated should be wiped with a 10-percent bleach solution or commercial disinfectant before further cleaning. ( robin )p-g-and e will pay nearly 100-million dollars in penalties tied to the deadly san bruno pipeline explosion. the california public utilities commission unanimously approved the fine thursday. p-g-and e will pay six million dollars each... to

highway 237 in north san jose. when firefighters arrived on scene they found the mobile home fully engulfed in flames and very heavy smoke. firefighters were able to enter through the rear of the structure and they found the body of a 20-year old man who died in the fire. they were also looking for a 4-year-old girl but she was found safe at a relative's house. firefighters were able to bring this fire under control fairly quickly and keep it from spreading. reporting live in san jose, lydia pantazes kron4 news. ( james ) the man convicted of killing his girlfriend and putting her body in a suitcase will spend the next 25 years in prison. lee bell was sentenced yesterday for the murder of pearla louis. louis's body washed up along san francisco's embarcadero almost 8 years ago. bell's d-n-a was found on the suitcase. louis was last seen arguing with bell at a hotel where the two were staying. during the sentencing hearing... bell got the chance to speak to the louis family. he said he was "exceedingly sorry" that pearla died because of him. arrested for exposing himself in the parking lot of a high school. it happened at hillsdale high in san mateo. police were called to the school tuesday... after a parent saw a man in a car inappropriately touching himself. officers found and arrested 60-year-old benito diaz. ( darya ) a judge is allowing a free speech lawsuit against u-c berkeley to move forward. but she says there is áno evidence the school discriminated against conservative speakers. this is video from past protests at the campus over the booking of conservative speakers. the lawsuit was filed last year after a scheduled campus talk by ann coulter didn't happen. ( james ) the man who escaped a psychiatric hospital in hawaii and flew to san jose... is fit to stand trial. randall saito walked out of the hawaii state hospital in back in november... took a taxi to the airport... and boarded a plane to san jose. 3 days later... police arrested him in stockton.

( darya ) a los angeles police officer is accused of trying to smuggle 2 undocumented immigrants into the united states. officer mambasse patara is facing federal charges after he tried to illegally smuggle 2 men into the country from mexico. officals say the officer was visibly shaking at the checkpoint... and that's why border agents asked him to pull over. one of the men was the officer's nephew. patara has been placed on paid administrative leave while the investigation continues. ( darya ) a judge is allowing a free speech lawsuit against u-c berkeley to move forward. but she says there is áno evidence the school discriminated against

set to begin next week on the golden gate bridge towers. officials will inspect the condition of the steel to determine if any repairs are needed. scaffolding is being installed on the sidewalks around the towers to protect pedestrians. the inspection work is expected to last a week with scaffolding being removed by may 11th.
