and has the story. witnesses say.. they heard what sounded like an explosion.. then flames erupting above this house.i was in such a panic pretty much because i was like my house is going to burn down. it's coming. it's coming. the embers, as soon as those trees went up and embers started flying and they were burning. both me and my granddaughter. they were like get out get out. and we were like oh my god. what do you grab? what do you grab? what do you do?fire officials say.. the blaze started around noon on saturday... in the backyard of this home and spread quickly because of high winds.the house is destroyed.. and three others are damaged.jessica moran/witnessi got a text message from the lady who lives in the front of the house basically saying fire fire.. i was in san francisco and so you know just running through my head, is my house okay? how much damage was there? are me neighbors okay? officials say.. the cause of the fire is under investigation. reporting live in vallejo hermela aregawi kron 4 news ( marty ) in san francisco's potero hill... firefighters tell us this fire was an aggressive one. they were able to keep it under control without anyone getting injured. and they kept it from spreading to a neighborhing home. the cause of the fire is under investigation. ( marty )in the east bay, the alameda coroners office is working to indentify a decomposing body that was found in the marshlands near the dumbarton bridge. that body was found in an isolated area. police believe it's been there for some time, before it was discovered on friday. kron4's michelle kingston has the details. for moms who have fallen on hard times. the restaurant is offering free meals and more to homeless mothers. kron 4's sara stinson is there live... and tell us about the mother's day celebration. (áásaraáá)marty there are several events in san francisco today honoring moms who are homeless and working to get back on their feet and into their own homes.one being a luncheon here at le colonial. the families who are attending this event are residents of compass family services tranisitonal program at the compass clara house. it's a two year intensive program providing childcare, mental health support and educational and employment services. 13 families are in this program at a time.the luncheon will be from noon to two this afternoon. there is also another event for homeless moms in the tenderloin at the hamilton family center.an organization, dad's that cook, will be making the mothers a nice meal.plus, each mom will be able to get a complete makeover. this event starts at nine this morning.(áásaraáá)so at least two amazing events going on in san francisco giving moms who are going through a hard time a little love on this mother's day.and happy mothers day to every mom out there! live in san francisco, sara stinson, kron 4

morning ... diet plays a key role in how we feel and how our bodies function. but can your diet keep you from getting pregnant? a new study sheds light on the link between food and fertility. kim hutcherson has the details in today's health minute. there could be a link between a woman's consumption of fast food and how long it takes to her to get pregnant. researchers asked more than 55- hundred women how long it took them to conceive. the women also reported how often they ate fresh fruit, leafy green vegetables, and fish -- versus how often they ordered fast food burgers, pizza, fried chicken, or french fries. according to the data -- in women with the lowest intake of fruit, the risk of infertility increased from 8 percent to 12 percent.in women who ate fast food four or more times a week -- the risk increased from 8 percent to 16 percent.eating leafy green vegetables and fish did not affect the time it took to

brown is facing a fight with the state legislature after he delivered a revised budget with a nearly 9-billion dollar surplus. the governor says the budget picture for california looks good now.. but predicts it will eventually turn sour. and he proposed saving the vast majority of the surplus for future emergencies. but democratic leaders are eager to boost funding for welfare, healthcare and high education. lawmakers have until june 15 to pass a budget. ( marty ) in the north bay, police in corte madera are looking for the man they say exposed himself to a 16-year-old girl. the incident happened friday night inside a rite aid store. kron four's philippe djegal reports on the investigation. more to take a ride share to and from s-f-o. the airport is considering charging a premium to be dropped off or picked up at the terminal by services like lyft and uber. kron 4's charles clifford has more from sfo. natsif you've been to sfo lately, you may have noticed that the terminals are a madhouse of traffic as people are dropped off and picked along the terminal curbs. natsto relieve the congestions, the airport is considering implementing a two tiered pricing system for ride share services like lyft and uber. users would pay a premium to be dropped off or picked up curbside at the terminals and a pay lower rate

to be picked up or dropped off further away in the garage. the airport would convert the top level of the main parking garage into a ride share zone. friday afternoon, travellers at the airport seemed to like the idea of reducing congestion but some where skeptical of the new pricing plan.soti think it's ok. if it saves congestion that fine. if the people coming in get easier access to the airport that ok.sotif i'm already paying for uber they should drop me off where i want to be dropped off. i shouldn't have to pay twice or extra just to be dropped off closer.soti don't think it's a terrible idea if congestion is really that bad. if uber customers are being singled out when i'm not sure if there is an actual increase on the account of uber seems like a covert way to punich uber users.the airport says that exactly how much people would pay for the premium drop off or pick up is still under discussion. a final plan would still need to be approved by the airport commission, which is scheduled to discuss the issue next week. if the plan is approved, the new could go into effect as soon as july 1st. at sfo, charles clifford kron 4 news.

( marty ) oakland is giving the community a new way to file complaints against police. it is part of the city's new oak- apps. it's a way to offer people a way to take part in programs and services. the app will let people file and track complaints of police misconduct. it will also allow the community police review agency to track patterns of complaints. lost her legs helping a woman move her stalled car off the road in sacramento. lindsay found herself pinned after another car ran into her she suffered cracked her ribs, a broken pelvis, arm, and internal injuries. the mother of two was forced to move back home with her parents. lindsay is begining the process of getting prostetics. she says the biggest change has been her loss of independence. ( marty ) lindsay is proving she has a lot of fight doctors told her it would take eight months to one-year to start walking again. lindsay did it under four months. trail is now open 24/7 ... as part of a new pilot program.. kron 4's ella sogomonian finds out what people are saying about the idea. the bay bridge bicycle and pedestrian path is open 24 hours for a ten day project by the california department of transportation.it's an experiment to see how well things go in case caltrans chooses to keep the 2.2 mile trail open all day everyday moving forward.sot: cyclist// "public spaces should be open to people around the clock and the more public areas we can make accessible to people i think it's all for the better." some cyclists say its worth gauging how safe it may be late in the night considering several homeless people set up camp on the side of the path. sot: , cyclist// "i guess its okay i dont know homeless people are kind of crazy sometimes so i just hope it's

honor is the highest honor congress can bestow. only 175 people have ever received it - including george washington and rosa parks. kron 4's vicki liviakis speaks to a bay area hero... who is now included on that list. you wouldn't know it to look at him, but this mannered gentleman was a top secret commando who blew up bridges and gathered intelligence on the enemy during world war two.

meet... my name is andrew sam mousalimas. i'm from oakland california. andy as he's known, worked for the forerunner to the cia... back then called the o.s.s. i didn't know the difference between o.s.s and s.o.s. the o.s.s. - stands for office of strategic services. a group - so shadowy - even uncle sam didn't admit to it. q: the government wouldn't even acknowledge that you were ever in the war? no, the va wouldn't acknowledge it. people thought i was lyin'. andy is 93 but was only 18 when he and his buddies perry and alex - the phillips brothers from oakland - enlisted. when you're young you think you're infallible. you go in and kick butt and you know - (shrug). but what the boys signed up for had a high casualty rate - 90%. they played the odds - and joined the little known o.s.s. so they wouldn't be split up. at least we were together. these three young guys from west oakland were sons of immigrants who could blend in.

congressional medal of honor is pretty special. and when harrison ford personally - congratulated him... that was something... probably the only guy in hollywood who knows what the o.s.s is. it may be because ford's alter ego - indiana jones - was reportedly also a member of the top-secret o.s.s. (nats: military band ceremony) up until recently, all of andy's escapades have been confidential. the files only finally unsealed in 1987. andy's neighborhood pal - perry - never lived to see that day. q: did it pain your dad? very much so. with the emphasis on the salute! a rare mother- daughter combo ... work together at the milwaukee police department. officer sherri porter works night shifts at the jail. and her daughter sgt. sheronda grant just got a promotion to police information officer. they say the job can sometimes be nerve-wracking ... and they worry about each other's safety. but they also count on each other for help and support. ( marty ) a family of bears paid a visit to a t-v station in colorado springs. here's video of a momma bear and her two cubs on thursday night. the bears were apparently going through a trash can at the parking lot . and what a surprise for a station photographer when he came face-to-face with the bears. he quickly ran back into the building. the station says it's now working with state park and wildlife officials, to make sure the bears are not tempted to return. ( marty ) a pair of cool shades is helping police dogs in west virginia do their jobs. the bluefield police department started using these blue goggles for their canine units. they usually cost about a-hundred dollars a piece, but the department received this pair as a donation. police say the
