(robin) a big story we're following this morning... police are investigating a homicide on the sonoma state university campus. officials say at least one person is dead. the victim...who is a college-aged male was stabbed in the ásauvignon village residential community. kron 4's hermela aregawi has the latest. (hermela aregawi)the school tells me at 5:53 this evening, campus police received a call about a male victim that was stabbed. emergency personal arrived on scene and declared the victim deceased shortly after. a homicide investigation on the sonoma state university campus.one man is dead and another has been arrested.the university says.. both are college- aged.students on the campus say.. they are frightened. quintin curtice/student90% of the time i feel safe.. and then there are times like this

and there are times like this. it's been weird having people saying stay safe consistently throughout this year. before i came here, this is my freshman year. before i came here, no one had ever said that to me before. and now they are saying it a lot which is weird so i'm not sure if i feel safe. students say the campus is very secure and they generally feel safe there. quintin curtice/studentyeah you need your card to get food. you need a card to get into your dorm. you need a passcode to get into your dorm so that definitely makes me feel a lot safer.the university would not say whether the victim or the suspect attend sonoma state. flags will be flown at half- staff from sunrise to sunset at city hall and san francisco police department . (robin) in the north bay... a man accused of shooting a deputy has been arrested. ryan pritel is now facing attempted murder charges. the shooting happened at the ájolly washer gas stationá off of highway 12 in sonoma. the car wash manager called deputies because one of his employees was acting strangely. when deputies got there... they say pritel pulled out a gun and shot at him. the deputy shot back... but did not hit pritel. deputies say pritel's gun jammed... and that's when they were able to take him into custody. the deputy who was shot is expected to (robin) in the east bay... an oakland family is mourning the death of their mom.two days before christina marie davis was set to fly back home from florida, tragedy struck.she and four others were killed in a car crash. her husband and 7 children flew to jacksonville, florida but ended up stuck there with no way to get back

home to california. it took help and partnering .... and now they're back home, as they try to figure out how to pick up the pieces without their mother.kron 4's ali reid has the story. the griffin family is relieved to finally be home, but struggling to make sense of the fact that they're mother's ashes are now in this urn ... it won't let up, the pain christina marie davis was visiting family in jacksonville forida. on the fatal night of march 23rd, the 35 year old, along with her sister evelyn , niece gloria , nephew antonio, and her sister's boyfriend were heading to the movies ... when 2 separate cars crashed into their vehicle.ladonald griffin / husbandwhen the patriot hit them it set on fire, and the road was so dark i dont understand how the second vehicle didn't see them christina, 13 year old antonio, evelyn's boyfriend, and one of the other drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. evelyn later died at the hospital.they don't know

mayor jane kim was on stage.a man was invited up to the podium to ask kim a question but was interrupted by another man who appears to be a supporter of mayoral candidate london breed."up in here acting out for the white folks, brother. remember where you're from homie. remember where you're from bro."the video shows people shouting ethnic slurs directed toward kim ... and asking why breed was not invited to the fillmore neighborhood event. (robin) an east bay high school student will represent the 13th congressional district... in the 2018 congressional arts competition. that's according to congresswoman barbara lee's office. this is congresswoman lee with the winner... janet nguyen... who is a senior at san leandro high school. nguyen was selected as the winner of the district competition for her painting titled " the gaze" ...during a reception to honor all the entrants in alameda. (robin) happening today... the san francisco board of supervisors will hear from átetra tech executives. the firm is accused of falsifying cleanup results at the hunters point naval shipyard. earlier this month... two tetra tech employees were sentenced to 8 months in prison for faking records. the u-s navy paid tetra tech 1 billon dollars to clean up toxic waste at the shipyard... for a redevelopment project. hunters point residents have

filed a 27-billion dollar lawsuit against the company for fraud. (robin) a story of strength . in december lindsay shabazian lost her legs helping a woman move her stalled car off the road in sacramento. lindsay found herself pinned after another car ran into her she suffered cracked her ribs, a broken pelvis, arm, and internal injuries. the mother of two was forced to move back home with her parents. lindsay is begining the process of getting prostetics. she says the biggest change has been her loss of independence. (robin) five murders in five weeks. that is what richmond police are dealing with... that follows five months of no homicides. kron4's jr stone spoke with several mothers in richmond who are speaking out. saying the violence needs to stop. a group of three women praying after five people were killed in seperate cases in the last five weeks in the city of richmond. the latest coming this past sunday during a

fight.sot it makes me sick to my stomach because a bullet doesn't know what it's going to do when it hits.that from yolanda ficklin-prothro who lost her son javonte, a 29 year old father of two, back in 2016. wednesday yolanda was joined by shonna earls, who lost her son in 2015 and dewanda joseph who lost her nephew in 2010. the message to the murderers in these recent cases is quite simple. sot stop the killing so the mother's can start hearing...that's all i can say stop the killing. richmond's police tell me that out of the five recent cases...shooters or attackers have been identified in two. one arrest has been made. police are seeking another man and they believe the three other killings may involve gang motives. on the heal's of mother's day. these women say no mom should ever have to deal with a lost child. sot i'm always with my three

rainbow flags...and threatened to detonate pipe bombs at a sheriff's station and grocery store. authorities believe his intent...was to injure deputies and members of the lgbtq community. (robin) one person was sent to the hospital after a car fell down a small canyon. it happened saturday morning on vasco road between livermore and brentwood. alameda county firefighters located the car about 20 feet down the canyon. a helicopter had to rescue the driver and transport them to a nearby hospital. the cause of the crash is under investigation. (robin) drug use inside the civic center bart station by the homeless has san francisco mayor mark farrell calling on police to step in and help the transit's officers. kron 4's ella sogomonian met with passengers and a bart board director about the proposal. san francisco mayor mark farrell is asking the police to step in and help bart officers to patrol the civic center station in reponse to a growing number of alleged drug use inside by homeless people. bart director bevan dufty is

worsening traffic and the high cost of housing .... are taking a toll on police in atherton. as kron four's rob fladeboe reports.... to address those challenges atherton police are being provided with a place to stay for a while... at the station. rob fladeboe/atherton "..this is another example of how people cant afford to live in the communities where they work. in this case it's the cops.because traffic and commutes are getting worse all the time, officers are being allowed to get a little shut eye before the hit the road for home..."atheron police commander joe wade showed me the tiny, but cozy "sleeping room" where many an officer has taken a nap after a long shift. it's basically an 8 by ten storage room with a bed and nightstand, along with the department's dry cleanng and drinking water.commander joe wade/atherton police department "....for the most part officers work a 12 hour shift, sometimes if they have court

natsif you've been to sfo lately, you may have noticed that the terminals are a madhouse of traffic as people are dropped off and picked along the terminal curbs. natsto relieve the congestions, the airport is considering implementing a two tiered pricing system for ride share services like lyft and uber. users would pay a premium to be dropped off or picked up curbside at the terminals and a pay lower rate to be picked up or dropped off further away in the garage. the airport would convert the top level of the main parking garage into a ride share zone. friday afternoon, travellers at the airport seemed to like the idea of reducing congestion but some where skeptical of the new pricing plan.soti think it's ok. if it saves congestion that fine. if the people coming in get easier access to the airport that ok.sotif i'm already paying for uber they should drop me off where i want to be dropped off. i shouldn't have to pay twice or extra just to be dropped off closer.soti don't think it's a terrible idea if congestion is really that bad. if uber customers are being singled out when

(robin) a family of bears paid a visit to a t-v station in colorado springs. here's video of a momma bear and her two cubs last thursday night. the bears were apparently going through a trash can at the parking lot . and a station photographer came face-to-face with the bears. then he quickly ran back into the building. the station says it's now working with state park and wildlife officials, to make sure the bears are not tempted to return. protesting the new u-s embassy in jerusalem. that embassy is set to open today. so far 16 palestinian protesters have been killed by israeli gun fire. this is video from the protests this morning. president trump announced the plan to move the embassy to jerusalem earlier this year. critics of the move say it will escalte tensions in the middle east. killer. joseph deangelo is due back in court today... while lawyers battle over unsealing records. deangelo is accused of murdering 12 people and raping nearly 50 women. the associated press and several other news organizations are asking a sacramento judge to unseal the warrants. ( darya ) new this morning... a vacaville man was fatally shot while at a parking lot in santa cruz. it happened last night at a parking lot near the boardwalk. officers found the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso... and was unresponsive. the man later died at the hospital. police found two men they believe to be involved in the shooting, but did not say if any arrests were made. ( james ) san francisco mayor mark farrell is asking police to step in and help bart officers at the civic center station. this is in response to the growing number of reports of homeless people using drugs inside the station bart's director says he's happy to see more attention paid to the issue. but he says providing the homeless with more resources should be paired with the sweeps to control the problem. james ) the theme was "welcome to jungle" ... a caged tiger was rolled into the doubletree hotel miami airport and convention center for the school event.cell phone video shows the tiger pacing in the cage as performers use fire to entertain the graduating class. one mother was concerned not only for the safety of the students but for the tiger itself. ( james ) police in contra costa county are searching for a bank robber. this is a picture of the man released by san ramon police. the robbery happened friday at the u.s bank on san ramon valley boulevard. officers say the man entered the bank wearing an fake dark colored goatee... and demanded an undisclosed amount of cash. ( james ) the daly city police department collected 200 firearms at its gun buyback event. the line was already around the corner before the event began on saturday officers worked with gun owners one by one to buy back their firearms. people were given 100-dollars for guns.. and 200-dollars for assault rifles. each gun collected will either be recycled or destroyed. ( james ) oakland is giving the community a new way to file complaints against

police. it is part of the city's new oak- apps. it's a way to offer people a way to take part in programs and services. the app will let people file and track complaints of police misconduct. it will also allow the community police review agency to track patterns of complaints. ( darya ) a former chipotle manager has been awarded nearly 8-million- dollars after being wrongly framed of a crime at the resturant. jeanette ortiz was accused in 2015 of stealing 626-dollars in cash from a safe at the restaurant in fresno. her bosses claimed the theft was recorded on surveillance video, but when ortiz asked to see the evidence she was told it had been destroyed. ortiz fired a wrongful termination suit. the panel ruled the company actually retaliated against ortiz... for previously filing a worker's comp claim. the company has not yet commented on the case.
