the man accused of killing a woman and two children in a fremont two children in a fremont car crash... is expected to appear in court. thursday, 21-year-old dang tran... was scheduled to be arraigned at the east county hall of justice in dublin. his family showed up to court -- but tran did not. that's because the alameda county district attorney's office says, they have not yet filed charges against tran. the d-a's office says, it is still waiting on a full report from the california highway patrol. it is possible the charges may come down today. investigators believe tran was under the influence of marijuana tuesday night... when he allegedly caused a five- car crash on northbound interstate- 880. ( robin )in the east bay... a husband and wife were found shot to death in their walnut creek home. police discovered the bodies tuesday afternoon after conducting a

welfare check... and says it appears to be a murder suicide. police say the husband... 66-year-old richard huber jr... killed his wife... 68-year-old sarah huber ... before turning the gun on himself. right now the case is still under investigation... no word yet on what triggered this shooting. ( robin )new information about those 10- children removed from their home in fairfield. as kron four's terisa estacio reports one family member says they had no idea what was going on. a close family friend says they are doing all they can to help the children during this quote "hard terrible time." kron four provided with this go fund me account set up to help the 10 children removed overnight from their fairfield home - this as family members are trying to suddenly care for the needs of kids, ranging in age from 4 months to 11 years of age. one family member says they knew nothing - and quote: "the whole thing is terrifying." police say

they found the children living in a filthy fairfield home. carpets soaking with urine, feces, human and animal smeared all over the floors. hallways unpassable with garbage. their parents - jonathan allen and ina rogers now facing multiple charges of abuse. in addition, allen is facing 7 counts of torture. authorities allege he shot at bit and in some cases waterboarded his children and poured scalding water on them. allen's sister and brother said quote "when we heard the news about the children we were appalled, disturbed and saddened about what had occurred. we have not kept in contact with them the children's father allen in a jail house interview as well as rogers have maintained their innocence,both remain in custody and are back in court next week to enter a plea. in fairfield terisa estacio kron four news.

( robin )san jose police are asking for the public's help... in solving a double homicide. it happened on the 38-hundred block of sierra road. police say a man and woman were declared dead by first responders at the scene... a little after 10 o'clock wednesday night. a small crowd of mourners came together in san jose ... to express their grief. one neighbor we spoke with says, he heard the sounds of what could have been the suspect's car ... speeding away. ( robin ) police say, the two victims were shot at least once. two cars were towed away from the area early thursday morning. a san jose police spokesperson

( robin )the constant drug use at bart stations and on trains ... is starting to become a huge problem. kron 4's justine waldman shows us what san francisco mayor mark farrell, the s-f-p-d.... and outreach programs are doing to clean-up the transit system stations. bart riders at civic center see lots of drug use during their commutes.sot i see people shooting upnats this now viral video really shed light on the problem. people slumped against the walls and doing drugs out in the open at the station.nats on thursday, the long corridor known for bad behavior was empty of people sleeping or shooting up. mainly because bart police, san francisco police and the salvation army made their presence known. and got people help, who would take it. sot and we have already put several people with out staff on to transportation back to our programs right nownats on the plaza, salvation army

ramon.... after a man is nearly hit while walking in a crosswalk. this happened right off the iron horse trail... on alcosta avenue near broadmoor drive. you can see the car ánearly slam into the pedestrian. it then crashes into the median. police tweeted this video out thursday as a reminder to always be aware of your surroundings. officers say nobody was seriously injured... and no word if the driver was arrested. ( robin )east bay police are investigating a series of robberies... targeting women in fremont. in each incident... the robbers have been going after women wearing gold chain necklaces. some of the incidents were violent... and the victims were injured. and of the six robberies... police believe two are related. both of those occurred near elementary schools. investigators are releasing these photographs from the may 8-th robbery. that is when a suspect attacked a woman and pulled her to the ground. she suffered scratches and bruises from that attack. the june primary... santa clara county is facing a major problem. the county is in dire need of poll workers. kron4's ali reid explains... just how many election officers the county needs... to reach their goal. there is an urgent need for an additional 1400 people to sign up within the next 2 and a half weeks.and for the primaries, that's tough.in santa clara county, about 4-thousand workers are needed to handle over 800 polling places.we do like to have 5 people there and with all the languages in silicon valley, we like to have people in each polling place in areas where people speak a different language other than english, for people to help in that languageelection officers normally check voters in, prove and collect ballots, and assist in any way necessary. there is a stipend of up to 200-dollars.workers must be at least 18 years old and registered to vote, or high school students older than 16. primary elections tend to be more difficult to recruit than general electionsit's the

( robin ) and crews in the south bay had a tough time battling a brush fire. san

jose fire tells us the fire was reported just after 4-30 yesterday at capitol expressway and tuers road. the blaze started out at just two acres... but spread to 71 acres. we're told the flames destroyed a homeless encampment. the fire has been contained. authorities believe fireworks were the cause of the fire. ( robin )in the north bay... the american canyon police chief is acknowledging.. how disturbed he is after seeing surveillance video of a middle school staff member... allegedly inappropriately touching a student. kron 4's gabe slate reports on what happened next and how law enforcement is asking for the public's help. 46 year old louis gonzalez of napa works as an aide to students with special needs at american canyon middle school. police say recently at this school the fire alarms went off and the building was evacuated.police say school staff did not know what caused the alarms to go off so they combed through surveillance videowhile looking at that

what the rooms will look like. yesenia ramirez/mother- "this is where i wanna, wanna, um, have my kids grow up. um, where i wanna raise my kids." ramirez and her husband were both born and raised in san jose. they still live there in one of yesenia's family members garage converted to a studio.yesenia ramirez/mother- "my kids want their own space and its hard for them to find a place to play." well, that won't be an issue come the fall -- when yesenia and her family are supposed to move in. habitat for humanity east bay silicon valley broke ground on the 30-unit condo-style housing development on central avenue last july. yesenia applied for the non-profit home ownership program about five years ago. spokesperson patti wang cross says that decision will soon pay off for her.patti wang cross/habitat for humanity- "before habitat came along, she was starting to look at really far flung options in high crime neighborhoods and uh, really felt like she was, she was out of options for staying in the bay area." instead, yesenia will own her home and pay a mortgage at

( darya ) a big story out of the east bay this morning... police are investigating a series of robberies targeting women in fremont.( james ) in each case... the woman targeted was wearing a gold chain. kron 4's lydia pantazes joins us live with the latest. lydia.... many of these robberies are violent... women dragged to the ground as a person rips a gold chain off their neck.(take map) let's take a look at a map of where these robberies happened. so far half a dozen people in eighteen days robbed throughout fremont. (pics) let's take a look at pictures of one of the robberies. this one happened on may 8th at 1:40pm. in this case a man violently robbed the woman of her gold chain as she was in the 4100 block of alder avenue, near oliveira elementary school. the robbery is one of two chain-snatch robberies that police believe are related

because the suspect targeted women walking near elementary schools around pick-up time. police said the robbery victim was pulled to the ground and was injured by a suspect described as a thin man in his 20s standing 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. he was wearing a black baseball hat, a gray hooded zip-up sweatshirt over a black shirt, light gray sweatpants and black and white jordan shoes. if you have information on these robberies please call the fremont police department. reporting live in fremont, lydia pantazes kron4 news. ( darya ) in the north bay... a staff member at american canyon middle school is arrested... after police say he was caught on camera inappropriately touching a student. louis gonzalez is now facing several charges. police say school staff went through surveillance video... after fire alarms went off at the school for unknown reasons. while looking at that footage... staff say they saw suspicious behavior between gonzalez and a student. the school says gonzalez worked as an aide to students with special needs ... and is on administrative leave. police are now looking any more victims. this morning... the owner of the company that manages the orchard mobile home community in santa rosa is responding to the lawsuit against them. residents were told they would have to start paying rent in september even though they are not living on the site. steve braun the president of hometown america management corporation said residents have an obligation to pay their lease. braun also said that the company has reduced the rent. he said they they are also offering discounts for rebuidling on the land as soon as a construction timeline is complete. the residents say there are violations of mobile home laws and contracts. new charges after police say they connected him to six burglaries in san francisco. javon neal was already in custody when investigators linked him to the crimes. he is accused of stealing 14- thousand dollars worth of electronics within two months. neal faces multiple charges and is being held on a 105-thousand dollar bail. ( james ) a husband and wife are found shot to death in their walnut creek home. police say it appears to be a murder-suicide. they say the husband, 66-year-old richard huber junor, killed his wife, sarah huber, before turning the gun on himself. police found the bodies on tuesday... after doing a welfare check. say he was caught on camera inappropriately touching a student. louis gonzalez is now facing several charges. police say school staff went through surveillance video... after fire alarms went off at the school for unknown reasons. while looking at that footage... staff say they saw suspicious behavior between gonzalez and a student. the school says gonzalez worked as an aide to students with special needs ... and is on administrative leave. police are now looking any more ( darya ) we are learning new information about the 10 children removed from their flithy home in fairfield. one family member is now saying they had no idea what was going on in the home, but they are now doing everything they can to help the children. there is now a go fund me set up to help provide for the children. the children's parents jonathan allen and ina rogers now face multiple counts of abuse. allen's sister and brother said when they heard the news they were disturbed and saddened. they are hoping to keep the children together and far away from the horrible conditions. both allen and rogers have

( will ) dang tran was supposed to arraigned yesterday. but the alameda county d-a's office says it hadn't yet filed charges against tran. they were still waiting on a full crash report from the c-h-p. investigators believe tran was under the influence of marijuana tuesday night... when he caused a five-car crash on northbound 880. that crash killed a woman and 2 children.

( james ) continuing our election coverage... in the last half hour, we told you about 'measure a' in alameda county.( darya ) if passed by voters next month, it would raise the sales tax to help parents pay for preschool and improve early education. kron4's sara stinson is live in alameda county. sara you spoke with people for and against the measrure? those i spoke to who are against measure a tell me it's already expsensive to live in the county and raising the sales tax is not something they are willing to vote for. but some parents childcare and preschool is so expensive they are barely by.
