pond. this is new video showing the car after it was pulled from the water this morning in alameda county. and tonight the victim has been identified as 34-year-old keith leung. hello i'm grant lodes. (vicki) and i'm vicki liviakis. the crash was first reported last night. it happened in alameda county... on crow canyon road between castro valley and san ramon. the victim lived in danville-- and tonight kron 4's terisa estacio spoke to the man's father as his family mourns their loss. (estacio reporting) this is all that is left of the tesla s class sedan as it was pulled out of a pond in castro valley along crow canyon road. the driver identified as 34 year old keith leung of danville. tak leung, father. he was smart, hard working basically not worry about academics from elementary to college. le-ung - keiths' father spoke with kron four news. he says authorities contacted him late sunday night - telling him about his son's deadly accident. the chp says the owner of a nearby property noticed a broken sign - when he investigated he saw the

tesla. right now, all aspects of the crash are under investigation. it is unknown the cause, or whether the tesla was in auto- pilot mode. tak. "he loved all wind and brass instruments." keith's father showed me his room. playing music was keith's passion. there was a a trumpet by his bed. this is keith in a recent concert. leung - went to san ramon valley high school. he was a high achiever he graduated with a double major from uc berkeley immediately after graduation was hired at shell oil as a chemical engineer. then got an mba at uc davis. leung. he also loved tutoring. his father says - besides his full time job, he tutored kids in both academics and music. leung. every day he leaves to go to working and then in afternoon, he teaches private tutor. man fell to his death inside one of the terminals. kron4's haaziq madyun at sfo - and reports on the fall that's under investigation. here at san francisco international airport a man reportedly fell from the mezzanine level in terminal 3 to the baggage claim areait happened around 8:45 monday morning here inside baggage claim number 4. that is where officials at sfo say an unidentified man in his late 50's to early 60's fell to his death between the escaltor and the baggage claim servcing united airlineswitnesses tell kron4 that this may not have been an accident. that is because witnesses say they saw several people who appeared to be trying to prevent the man from jumping from the upper level. this section of the airport was understandibly off limits. these blue dividers were used to keep the investigation out of the view of travelers making their way through the airporthowever a few hours later the grim spectacle of the coroner removing the covered body from the terminal was unavoidable the investigation into the cause of the incident is being handled by the san mateo county coroner's office, who say it is too early to comment on the cause as it remains under investigation. the coroner is also withholding

video tonight showing a brush fire in american canyon. you can see the plume of smoke in the distance on the hill. these images were sent to us from a kron-4 viewer-- who used our mobile app to share the pics. the fire broke out this afternoon off of american canyon road. firefighters quickly contained the blaze and the cause is under investigation. (vicki) happening now... bart is considering sealing off a hallway inside their civic center station that's become notorious for drug activity.(grant) kron4's maureen kelly gives us a first hand look at the problem. this video posted on youtube showed the civic center station hallway turned into a drug den....with some openly shooting up or smoking up....others slumped over....nodding off. last week at meeting the san francisco mayor and the heads of both muni and bart an idea was floated to close this section off. it's long enough that someone can stand in the middle and watch out for law enforcement coming from either end.watch the man in the plaid pajama bottoms walk into the hallway....look around, turn his back as three bart officers approach from the other end. he lights up a substance, inhaling the smoke thru a small tube....exhales and walks away....he was able to leave the hallway just as the officers were entering

from the other side. bart says closing the area won't impact commuters since there are entrances to both bart and muni at either end of the hallway. it was just essentially create two islands instead of having one big long hallway (standup)the next step in moving this idea closer to reality, the bart gm needs to reach out to the state fire marshall to make sure the isn't a public safety concern with shutting this walkway down.some riders say the closure will just spread the problem to other areas. they're gonna continue to keep doing it and do it on the bart train because we see recently see needles on the bart and that's scary bart says they are tacking this problem from many including working with sfpd to boost patrols in the station.bart board member bevan dufty says he wants to see the city bring more outreach worker here to get addicts the help they need it's a cat mouse game there's so much narcotics moving around upstairs every san francisco knows that. i'm not trying to criminalize people that are using i'm trying to break this up and get people help and change the ecosystem his goal is a lofty one...to get a handle on this situation and make civic station one of the best in the system.maureen kelly kron4

tonight is out of the east bay-- where a man is killed after crashing into a pond in alameda county. this is new video showing the car being towed from the water. it happened late last night on crow canyon road... between castro valley and san ramon. police say the tesla went off the roadway and ended up in the water. the driver has been identified as 34- year-old keith leung from danville. this is a picture of keith with his tesla just after he bought it. it's not clear if the car was in the auto-pilot mode at the time of the crash. the cause is still under investigation. (grant) also in the east bay... police are looking for a man who they say attacked a 93-year-old woman. it happened at the bank of america near the sun valley mall in concord on friday afternoon. police say the woman was with her care-taker in the parking lot-- walking towards the bank when a man pushed the elderly woman to the ground. he took both women's purses and took off in a getaway car. the elderly woman is still in the

hospital with a broken hip. the suspect is described only as about six foot three, heavy set build, bald with a beard. (grant) union city police are looking for someone who has vandalized multiple buildings. these are pictures of the spray paint. police say the tagger goes by the name "lil t snoopy" and has spray painted several buildings on the east side of town since last week. anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call police. (vicki) in the south bay-- officers arrest a man accused of trespassing and prowling. people living in willow glen told police their video surveillance cameras caught the suspect -- hector leanos junior -- looking into a bedroom window and walking down a driveway. police say leanos is also dealing with domestic violence charges... unrelated to this case. (vicki) in san jose -- people in the almaden valley area say they've been hit with a string of mail thefts. this is video from may 13th.

a neighbor we spoke to says they believe the thieves are using a master key to gain access to their mailboxes. it's possible they're on the hunt for tax return money. and this is video from may 19th. we spoke to another neighbor who believes the he was hit by the same thief. he says he reported the crime to both san jose police and the postal service. (grant) happening tonight... a town hall meeting on the latest police shooting in san francisco. police were police were police were investigating a car burglary on steiner street and geary boulevard on may 11th. one person was arrested at the scene... but a second person got in a car and took off. that person then crashed into two san francisco police cars on o'ferrell street... and officers opened fire, but nobody was hit. tonight's meeting starts at 6... at the hamilton recreation center near geary and steiner. connecting parts of the civic center concourse level being used as a shooting gallery. some openly injecting drugs....others slumped over. last week at meeting with the san francisco mayor and the heads of both muni and bart an idea was floated to close this section off. it's long enough that someone can stand in the middle and watch out for law enforcement coming from either end.watch the man in the plaid pajama bottoms walk into the hallway....looks around, turns his back as three bart officers approach from the other end. he lights up a substance, inhaling thru a small tube....exhales and walks away....he was able to leave the hallway just as the officers were entering from the other side. bart says closing the area won't impact commuters since there are entrances to both bart and muni at either end of the hallway.(standup)the next step in moving this idea closer to reality, the bart gm needs to reach out to the state fire marshall to make sure the isn't a public safety concern with shutting this walkway down.some riders say it could be an inconvience....bart board member bevan dufty says the closure could be for a short time...or longer...but they need to get a handle on this situation. i think it's a state of emergency to put everything on the table and clothes in this hallway would be one of them bart says they are tackling this problem from

for the man and woman who were shot to death last week. the santa clara county coroner's office identified them monday as 24 year old jennifer martinez and 21 year old emilio salazar. both victims are from san jose. a passing motorist made the grim discovery, reporting it to police just ater 10 o'clock last wednesday night. a neighbor heard a car speed away from the scene about that time. police offered no new information about the case on monday. a couple of people who stopped by the growing memorial to pay their respects said they don't believe the shooting is gang related. jennifer martinez and emelio salazar are the victims of san jose's 9th and tenth homicide so far this year. in san jose rob fladeboe kron 4 news. problem for the people living on the island -- several fissures continue with two lava flows entering the ocean. howard dashefsky is in hawaii with the latest. aloha i'm howard dashefsky reporting from the big island, and madame pele continues to create and destroy. we are here in the leilani estates subdivision, a place where residents have been forced to evacuate from .. some two weeks ago. this is hookupu. it's an offering made by some of the residents here who wonder if they will ever be able to come back and call this place home. let me show you one dramatic example of what's going on. this here started out as one of these tiny cracks in the road.. it is now a crevice that is probably 30-40 ft deep and as you can see 15 feet wide. then on the other side, the road about 200 meters has just collapsed and from all those cracks that's the steam containing those potentially deadly so2 fumes that are coming out. look at all the trees and everything around it, a sure sign of just how bad these fumes are. everything out here so green and so plush, but now all the vegetation is simply dying off .. as for the volcano and what is happening today on the big island i can tell you there are presently two flows that are making their way down to the ocean. this is that new pahoehoe or fast moving liquified lava, and it's hitting the ocean, and creating yet another health hazard. the plume that is rising out of the water is called leis, and that is a lava haze which contains two

things. 1) hydrocloric acid, and then 2) glass like material even actual physical shards of glass which can be carried 15 miles away with the winds. so everybody down wind of this plume is being urged to exercise extreme caution by geologist, civil defense, hi county police keeping everyone out of that area. dramatic and fluid situation that seems to change day by day and we'll continue to monitor it every step of the way. for now i'm howard dashefsky reporting from the big island of hawaii. man touches me one more fáááing time ill fáááing kill him."she says a drunk man grabbed the woman sitting next to him.emily/passenger: "he was out of his mind. like he couldn't speak. he was mumbling. this man was extremely intoxicated."the flight crew reportedly moved him to the back. emily/passenger: "they told me to move over a little bit just in case he tries to reach over and grab me."that's when she says her flight turned into a nightmare.she snapped this photo of him slouching in his seat and then snapped this." emily/passenger: "i have my phone out trying to take a discreet photo, he starts to pee and urinate on the seat in front of him."we've blurred the picture but it shows a stream of urine hitting the back of a seat. emily/passenger: "and i scream, he's peeing. he's peeing. oh my god. and the flight attendant doesn't even acknowledge him at first. acknowledges me and says you need to calm down and stop cursing,"she was moved to the front of the plane, her bag fees were waived and she was a given a $200 voucher but she
