(vicki) tonight-- the family of two parents arrested for torturing their children-- comes to the couple's defense. and now-- the father is facing sexual abuse charges. good evening i'm vicki liviakis. (grant) and i'm grant lodes. the 10 children were removed from the horrific living conditions last month. and today-- their parents appeared in court to ender their pleas. kron 4's tersia estacio has details on the disturbing new charges the father is now facing. four counts of lewdness with a minor at the hands of an adult those are the new charges facing jonathan allen, the father of the ten children. allen very confident in court today, speaking up loudly as he entered a not guilty plea. (take vo) no cameras were allowed in court, but this is a picture of allen from last weeks first court appearnance. the sex crimes alledged to have taken place over the course of a year from 2017 to 2018 - four separate times with one of the 10 children. ina rogers, the children's mother also in court today.

this picture from last week as well. she twoo entered a not guilty plea. in contrast, she was soft spoken and quite subdued in court. outside court, allens relatives defended he and ina. doris./allen's grandmother it is unfortunate this has happened to our family and i feel more help should have been there for the family to help with the children. maggie. allen's aunt he is a nice person. she is a nice person. i hope for the best. last week, both allen and rogers were charged on multiple counts of child abuse. in addition, allen faces 7 counts of torture. in court documents, the children reportedly told child abuse specialists that they had been bitten and struck with bb guns. and quote : due to continuous abuse the children have varying forms of scars, including broken arms." back on march 31st, rogers contacted police after rep0rtedly missing a child.

when authorities arrived at the home, , they say, they found feces smeared on floors, urine soaked carpet - the house in shambles. rogers intially blamed the mess on looking for her missing child. the children were removed and a further investigation revealed the alledged abuse. krishna adams, district attorney solano co. "as a prosecutor and mom you can't imagine at the hands of parents. there are 10 children under the age of 13 abused for a substantial period of time inside this home under the care of their parents.both allen and rogers remain in custody. in addition to the new sex crimes charged, both allen and rogers now face a protective order banning the from having any contact with their children. they are back in court for a hearing in july. in solano county te (vicki) the san francisco district attorney says there will be no charges filed against officers involved in two high profile fatal police shootings.....mario woods and luis gongora.(grant) kron4's maureen kelly was there as the decision came down and has reaction. under current law these two uses of force are lawful therefore they'll be no prosecution two fatal police shootings less than a year apart. in december of 2015 the shooting of mario woods was caught on video....showing

five police officers open fire on the stabbing suspect after police say pepper spray and beanbag rounds failed to get the 26 year old to drop the weapon. an autopsy found he had been hit more than 20 times.then in april 2016 two officers fired on luis gongora - a homeless man armed with a knife who they say moved towards them rather than drop the weapon after being hit with a bean bag gun. that shooting happening under 30 seconds of their arrival on scene. at the news conference today the da said the law is clear, but he still struggled with the outcome. well clearly under the law today no crime is occurred that answer was very unsatisfactory for me morally and as a human being d-a george gascon says under the law officers are held to a different standard than everyday citizens.police officers unlike the rest of us have more protection around

(vicki) new information tonight about a man arrested after a violent attack on an elderly woman in concord. police say he was wanted for another crime in fremont. police say otto halafihi turned himself in last night. halafihi is accused of attacking and robbing a 93- year old woman and her 64-year old caretaker. and today-- police say he is also the suspect in an armed robbery in fremont. it happened earlier this month at the lowe's on pacific commons boluevard. police say the suspect threatened to shoot employees-- and then fled the store with two items he had been carrying. police say halafihi faces robbery and elder abuse charges.

(grant) harvey weinstein - the disgraced movie mogul- is expected to surrender to investigators in new york tomorrow..vicki) he's facing criminal charges after allegations that he sexually assaulted women... catherine heenan is here with the latest on the case.. (catherine) the criminal charges will be the first - since scores of women began coming forward to accuse weinstein of harrassment or assault.. he'll reportedly turn himself in tomorrow - after a grand jury has been hearing evidence in the case for weeks.. law enforcement officials have told the associated press that the charges relate to at least one person...a former actress named loo-sha evans - who claims she was assaulted in 2004. at a news conference - new york police weren't releasing many details.. dermot shea/nypd chief of detectives: i'm not going to give you an exact number, but it's more than one. we have several complaints and it's actively being investigated. and i'm not going to get into any details on the allegations

share companies in san francisco have less than two weeks to apply for a new permit program or risk losing an opportunity to do business in the city. the announcement came earlier today from the san francisco city attorney's office...kron4's haaziq madyun was there... sotthis is the new powered scooter share program permit application rolled out today by san francisco city attorney dennis herrera. back in april herrera issued cease and desist letters to the three e-scooter companies operating in san francisco because...sot that is 1,800 complaints within the first month of scooter companies setting up

(vicki) starting in the east bay-- where police are investigating another school threat. threatening graffiti was found at dougherty valley high school in san ramon. the graffiti was reported to police this morning. officers say they don't believe the threat is credible-- but they are increasing police presence on campus. ... (vicki) and in alameda-- police are looking for a package thief. they released these surveillance images today showing the theft. it happened yesterday at a home near calhoun and washington streets. the suspect appears to be driving a burgundy 19-90's honda accord that's missing it's front hubcap. week. san jose police found rene morales' body on south second street near 280 last friday morning. police still do not know the cause of death but are treating it as suspicious. a go-fund-me page has been set up by morales' friends to raise money for his funeral. so far they have rasied more than three thousand dollars. first brought you yesterday on kron4 news at 5... the cat seen clinging for life on the roof of a van traveling down the freeway-- is alive and save. (vicki) take a look at this video again. it happened in nebraska last week. the people who took the video flagged down the driver of the van-- who then stopped to save the cat. now the owner has come forward saying her cat is fine and not injured-- and just living up to his name... which is "rebel". a live look from the kilauea volcano in hawaii tonight. there are

intermittent explosions... and ash continues to spew out from the summit. it has been more than three weeks since the volcano erupted-- and it shows no signs of letting up. residents forced to dodge creeping lava flows... as they rush in-and-out to check on their property. during those checks... some have found their beloved houses... destoryed.. including a home owned by a san francisco couple. the pair who lost their home after owning it for more than a decade, sat down for an exclusive interview with kron 4's ali reid. .. a beautiful home on a sprawling 5 acre piece of land quickly disintegrated when lava made its way to arvin munoz and jeffrey hannan's second home.we basically own 5 acres of lavathe home in

(catherine) the two defendents - are max harris andderick almena... today harris's attorney asked thathis client be allowed to bail out of jail... arguing that harris - on the left - be sent to what he called a "sober living arrangement." it's not clear whether that might happen later. harris and almena are each charged with 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter in the december 2016 fire.. the judge today turned down a motion to dismiss the charges. also today - it became clear there's a major disagreement between the two defendants. the attorney for harris wants the trial postponed until at least september. but derick almena reportedly wants to keep a july 16th trial date - arguing that he's tired of being behind bars - and wants the case resolved as soon as possible. pam?

been reunited with his owners after a month -- thanks to the magic of social media. but not all was as it seemed -- as now, another family is searching for átheirá missing pig. bailey miller has the story from california's central valley. fresno, calif. -- the beloved potbelly pig, poncho, is finally home."he is not just a pet he is family," said joel rodriguez, poncho's owner. after a long month without him, the rodriguez family is giving poncho all the belly rubs and treats he missed out on."he is here, the babies are happy, the dog is happy in the back, and my mom is happy. that is all that matters," said rodriguez. it all started with a video posted on the fresno lost/found pets and rescue facebook page on monday. a potbelly pig is seen running for his life. poncho's family thought it was him and it was their first sense of hope in a long time.
