tonight." sara gilbert speaks out today. could dar lean now get her own spin-off in the wake of roseanne's cancellation? for the first time, on camera, sara addressed the controversy. >> i would like to say this has been a very difficult week. a lot of people have been hurt by this. i will say i'm proud of the show we made. the show -- [ cheers and applause ] -- the show has always been about diversity. love. and encollusion. however, i do stand behind the decision that abc made. >> sara gilbert who played roseanne's daughter arzed the controversy on "the talk" this morning. the sitcom was canceled after roseanne compared former obama adviser valerie jarrett to an ape. sara didn't address the buzz about a possible spin-off.
