witnesses and has the story. sot: ella sogomonian, @ellasogomonian// "there are a lot of unanswered questions as san francisco police have yet to reveal what led up to the chase that ended in a shooting."(nats)people pulled out their cell phones and shot video as police officers swarmed a north beach neighborhood in san francisco early saturday morning just after midnight.witnesses said a man running on grant avenue was shot by police at least twice on this sidewalk between tope and tupelo bars.sot: alex darrow, witness//"i came around the bar to get dishes and i stepped here and he was laying right in front of the window. first the cops were hand cuffing him and then the paramedics came and it was a bit of a scene."sfpd confirmed two officers started a pursuit on foot but haven't said what led up to the shooting.people were forced to stay inside the bar for about 2 hours as police roped off the street - then let them out 15 at a time checking id's and taking down reports.sot: alex darrow,

witness//"there was everything from people freaking out, freaking out that they were trapped in the bar. someone actually kicked in the back door to the liquor room looking for a back exit after we told repeatedly everyone there was no back exit. some people could care less. there were a lot of people filming it."one witness claims they saw officers shoot the man in the back.sfpd hasn't confirmed that information.a tupelo employee said detectives reviewed their surveillence video but the vantage points didn't capture the shooting. ...while the tope bar's employees say cameras weren't working because of water damage from last week. witnesses described the suspect as a tall heavy set man, bald, with a lot of tattoos...they say a gun lay on the ground for three hours during the investigation. police confirm a firearm was recovered but didn't specify who's it was.the man officers shot was taken to zuckerberg general hospital with life threatening injuries.sot: ella sogomonian, @ellasogomonian// "the police department issued a statement saying more information will be released when it's available and a town hall meeting will be held within ten days. in san francisco ella sogomonian kron4 news."

( marty )a north bay lawmaker has a lot to say about the new cal fire rert.it says p-g & e is responsible for most of the devastating northern california fires last fall. state senator jerry hill talked to kron four's hermela aregawi. cal fire blaming pg&e tonight for causing 8 more of the deadly fires ..that devastated parts of northern california last october. state senator jerry hill (d-san bruno):unfortunately i was not susprised because i expect this based on what i had seen and learned over the last six months. state senator jerry hill helped lead the effort to convict and fine pg&e in the 2010 san bruno explosion. state senator jerry hill (d-san bruno):pg&e had diverted 500-million dollars from safety, from maintenance, from operations to and diverted to bonuses and incentives for executives, that they had not done the mainteance that was necessary, had not done the proper testing, they neglected the system. and that is what investigators say is the case with the fires.they say.. 11

out of the 16 that have been fully investigated... started because of damaged pg&e power lines and equipment. state senator jerry hill (d-san bruno):pg& e is going out of their way right now in sacramento trying to convince everyone that there is a new normal, that the narrative has changed, that now we have a common problem of climate change that is causing these fires. climate change did not start a fire, it doesn's start fires a fire has to be ignited by something, a spark somewhere. and if pg& e is negligent allowing and causing that spark, they should be responsible for the cost of that fire. bay fires are taking some time to get their minds off rebuilding. the oakland a's gave over 3-thousand free tickets to wildfire victims... for a day at the ballpark. kron 4's sara stinson joins us now live at the coliseum with the details. sara? marty - today is called "north bay day" it's all about treating the people who lived through the brutal north bay fires.the a's are t only providing free tickets to over three thousand north bay residents.but there will also be a pre-game ceremony with the oakland fire department who will serve as the color guard.a fan affcted by the fires will also throw the first pitch.this day also serves as firefigher apperciation day recognizing the hard work of first responders during fires last year.if you are a firefighter you can get a free ticket on the athletics site - those who attend will get an a's firefighter day t shirt.we look forward to talking to some of the north bay first responders and the residents

the golden state warriors are back in the bay area. back to back champions who have won the championship three out of the last four years.they touched down saturday afternoon around 3:30...the first two players off of the plane were stephen curry with the larry o' brien trophy and kevin durant with his finals mvp trophy. they were greeted by dozens of warriors fans. you can see it in this shot but as their plane taxi'd to the terminal there were fire trucks blasting water into the air in celebration of the warriors arriving back home.in case you missed it this is what the trophy presentation looked like in cleveland last night. all smiles from the warriors players. head coach steve kerr said it was fitting that the team played their best game of the entire playoffs last night to end the season. certainly good times on the court... and good times in the locker room. it was a champagne party as the players doused each other and even got the camera pretty we with

who was shot to death, may have been the victim of domestic violence. 34-year-old vanessa palma was shot thursday on mission street. she later died in the hospital. police say palma was killed by her husband...43-year-old robert riley. they believe riley fled after the shooting. he was last seen driving a white chrysler 300. the vehicle has the california license plate 7-u-a-b-8-3-1. riley is considered armed and dangerous. ( marty ) the san mateo county board of supervisors is calling for a ban on gun shows at the cow palace. this in the midst of a two-day gun show at the venue hosted by

utah-based "crossroads of the west." just four days ago... county supervisors voted unanimously to support banning gun shows at the palace. the supervisors saying the state should not profit from the sales of guns.... and that the board has been urging the state to ban gun shows for 15 years. ( marty ) in the east bay... caltrans will close part of the caldecott tunnel for maintenance work starting this week. bore number four on westbound highway 24 will close monday through wednesday nights. the bore will be closed from 9:30 p.m. until four a.m. each day. the closure will allow workers to wash the inside of the tunnel. cal-trans says motorists should expect delays and allow extra time for the commute. ( marty ) after a change in policy and mandatory anti-bias training, starbucks changed how it deals with people who don't buy anything. philadelphia's police department also has new guidelines for its officers on how to work with those situations. david spunt has the story.

capt. sekou kinebrew/philadelphia police: "it's always better to have more tools in your toolbox!" officials released a four page memorandum to officers friday, outlining how they are supposed to handle what's called a defiant trespass. it's when a person refuses to leave a privately owned business that's open to the public after being asked to leave. on april 12, two men were arrested at this rittenhouse square starbucks for not buying anything and refusing to leave. the arrests sparked outrage and starbucks held anti-bias training across the united states. the highlights of the new policy include deescalation of tensions with an offender. also, calling for a crisis officer and supervisor. bottom line: the department will not jump to an arrest unless multiple warnings and discussions don't work. capt. sekou kinebrew/philadel ( marty ) that was david spunt reporting. starbucks changed it's policy last month. the theme there is de-escalation. philadelphia mayor jim kenney praised the police department's new policy. ( marty ) in the east bay... caltrans will close part of the caldecott tunnel for maintenance work starting this week. bore number four on westbound highway 24 will close monday through wednesday nights. the bore will be closed from 9:30 p.m. until four a.m. each day. the closure will allow workers to wash the inside of the tunnel. cal-trans says motorists should expect delays and allow extra time for the commute.
