try and jump from one place to another">sotcharles adams is a member of a group of investors interested in leasing the hs lordships site when it closes down in july. however the presence of the community of living in recreational vehicles on the property is a concernsotthere are about 25 rv's at hs lordships that were once parked along marina blvd. but back on the 28th may the city of berkeley brought in these white k-rails to prevent vehicles from parking. the rv's relocated to hs lordships lot. however amber whitson says if the city of berkeley had a safe place for folks in this community to go...they would gladly relocate soti spoke to a berkeley city councilmember who told me that with the restaurant closing in a matter of weeks, there is no emergency to move these vehicles and if a new lease is established with another business...the city would likely take a look at resolving the issue then...in

robbery for allegedly stealing the cellphone of a man who recorded him the next day. oakland police officer michael ransom ii wrote in a terse probable cause statement that henry sintay, 29, was recorded committing a strong-arm robbery of a cellphone last saturday and sintay confessed to the crime when he was interviewed by police. prosecutors allege that sintay, who lives in the 1300 block of east 27th street in oakland near highland hospital, has a prior felony conviction for selling or transporting marijuana in riverside county in 2009. (grant) police say sintay confessed to the crime when they interviewed him. he was charged today with second degree robbery. that a voter-backed reduction in criminal penalties...may be back-firing.(vicki) they say prop 47 - passed in 2014 -- could be linkedto the fact that there's 'more' drug and property crimes.. catherine heenan is here with more on the study... (catherine) there's a 'lot' more crime....including the epidemic of car break-ins san francisco has been dealing with.. more than 30-thousand of them last year. in the two years since voters approved prop 47 to reduce penalties and ease prison overcrowding... some property crimes went up significantly. crimes like car break-ins, identity theft, drug possession and shoplifting increased by 9 percent in 20- 16.... those crimes - once felonies - are now misdemeanors. violent crime has also gone up - although researchers don't blame prop 47. one positive finding -- the arrest rate for homocides has increased.. grant and vicki? will decide this fall if the golden state should be split into three separate states. the proposal known as "cal 3" has gained enough signatures to get on the november ballot. the bay area would be part of the new state of "northern california." most of the central coast and los angeles would keep the original california name. the rest of the state, which includes the central valley and san diego would be called "southern california." people have mixed feelings on the idea. "i think we have very divergent interests in the state and we're trying to put everything together now. and no one's really happy. no. no one state california i like it just the way it is."(vicki) the proposal was spearheaded by a venture capitalist who says regional communities would function better. if the measure is approved by voters, it would have to be ratified by congress, which analysts say is unlikely. one person has died and two people have been injured after a fire at a home in walnut creek. crews responded to the fire shortly before one this morning on mandarin lane near sugarberry lane. right now firefighters are looking into how the fire started. .. (grant) in the east bay. a homeless man is behind bars tonight....after police say he broke into a home...and then... made himself at home. this was friday night at a house near glendale-la loma park just north of the cal berkeley campus. the owner of the house says once he got home he found an empty bag of doritos in the kitchen...along with a used drinking glass. he then spotted the suspect... 41- year-old nao hamada myers... lounging in his master bedroom. officers arrested myers...who they say...was actually dressed in the victim's clothes. (vicki) in santa clara county... a woman fights off a man who tried to kidnap her -- twice. deputies say hipolito martinez was arrested for attacking his neighbor in her gilroy home. the victim told deputies that martinez tried to take off her clothing. but she fought back... and ran out of the house. that's when she says martinez chased her and tried to drag her back inside. she fought him again... and called police. martinez is now behind bars. (grant) in the north bay. chp officers are searching for a man...accused of fleeing a hit-and-run crash that injured a woman who was in his car. it happenned around 11 last night on river road in santa rosa. police say say 21-year-old skylar sachse...was driving a 1995 dodge neon...when he struck two sections of a guardrail. he fled the scene...leaving a 17-year-old girl in the car. police believe sachse was drinking alcohol before the crash.

they say he is a known gang member. (grant) a woman wanted for two home invasion robberies in the north bay is now behind bars. 20-year-old amber hembree... also known as "skittles"... was arrested in virgina on monday. police say they found her hiding in an attic of a home near richmond-- and they arrested her. hebree is one of five suspects in two separate home invasion robberies in santa rosa that killed one man and injured another. hembree is expected to be extradited back to sonoma county soon. lawrence karnow joins us now with the four zone forecast. lawrence karnow: it was another hot day inland with highs soaring into the mid 90s. but fog moved in along the coast to cool temperatures there in the 50s and 60s. tonight will be rtly cloudy with patchy coastal fog and clear and mild inland. on the satellite image you can see a week area of low pressure to the north swinging into the west coast. that low will deepen over the next few days allowing for an increasing see breeze and more low clouds and fog. this will help temperatures in the hottest spots inland to cool by as much as degrees tomorrow. it will still be warm thought with highs in the 80s inland, 70s and 80s around the bay and 50s and 60s at the coast with patchy low clouds and fog. it will likely continue to cool into the first part of the weekend before warming a little on father's day. the warming trend will continue well into next week.
