( robin )a san francisco mother and her autistic son are fighting a building owner.. who wants them out. they say the owner wants the apartment empty so he can raise rent. kron 4's j.r. stone has the story. sotserena chietti and her 14 year old autistic son marco are facing eviction after living in this san francisco apartment for 13 years. sot

lawyers that represent the owner say several tenants have complained about chietti since she moved in. the most recent noise complaint coming in january of this year. the lawyer representing the owner sent us a list of complaints about serena. they include stomping on the floor in the middle of the night, yelling at construction workers while intoxicated, and her son throwing bottles out the window and into the street at night. she denies some of those allegations but does say her son threw bottles out of the window, something that autistic children have been known to do, he has since gotten treatment for it. serena is upset because she says she didn't ever hear of the complaints until she got

bar-cenas in the back in san francisco. the officer approaches a group of men on june 9th and barcenas then runs off. investigators later found a loaded handgun that was allegedly... tossed by barcenas. s-f-p-d chief bill scott says, whether the officer followed policies and procedures in this case... will be judged on its own. while officer cabillo was with the police department, he shot and killed a 15-year old, after the teen allegedly pulled a gun during a struggle. it was later revealved that the gun the teen had... did not work. the san mateo district attorney found cabillo was justified in the case. cabillio was also involved in another altercation back in 20-15... where a 23-year-old man was beat up. ( robin )after days of mounting pressure, president trump reversed his administrations' policy... and will now stop separating undocumented children from their parents... when they cross illegally into the united states.

aregawi spoke to protesters there... and has the story. this rally was a collaboration between immigrant advocacy groups as well as mom led social justice groups. they started planning it on sunday. and they tell me within 48 hours... they had more than 500 people rsvp.. and even more showed up tonight united under one message.. that families belong together. hundreds gathered in san rafael outraged by the trump administration's policy of separating some immigrant families.. seeking asylum. samantha ramirez/protesterwell i think that as adults we are supposed to keep children safe. and right now we are seeing children suffer and we can't do anything about it. and it's just not fair. they don't deserve to be traumatized like that. they don't deserve to be put in cages and taken away from their parebts. more than 2,300 children have already been separated from their parents under the president's zero tolerance police.a practice.. many here who work with children say.. is damaging long term. laura olivo/protesterwell i work with children and i am a nurse. when i saw the conditions that they had the

also giving their input on the matter. yesterday... united airlines' c-e-o posted this tweet saying.... the airline has asked the u-s government not to fly separated immigrant children on united aircraft because quote... "it's in deep conflict with our company's values." ( robin )frontier airlines also joined the conversation and took a stand. the airline tweeted.... frontier prides itself on being a family airline and we will not knowingly allow our flights to be used to transport migrant children away from their families. at this time, we are not aware if frontier has been used for this purpose. to vandalize several cars in two cities. now police in san lorenzo and san leandro... are looking for the suspects involved in the crimes, before they strike again. kron 4 ali reid has the latest in the investigation. nearly a dozen vehicles have been vandalized in both cities. it appears most of the vehicles were shot with either a paintball or a pellet gunwe were actually really lucky to get ours outheide cohetero examines her husbands vehicle for any further damage. on tuesday, the family woke up to paintball damage on the side of the truck. although they got the paint removed, there's still some dents left behind. heide cohetero / victimabout 8-9 diff people are talking about how they've been hit with paintballs or pellet or bb gunssan leandro police had at least half dozen reports of vandalism in the manor neighborhood.over san lorenzo ....one family had one of their car windows blown out. the paint caused so much damage to the rest of the vehicle, they tell me it's in the shop getting an entire

paintjob, some body work, and the window replaced.they're now concerned about the safety of their neighborhood.... hoping this was a random act. she reached out to me to see if the paintball matched hers. (did it?) it didthe owners of this toyota prius on "via del prado" will have to replace 3 windows. they tell me they're looking to shell out a thousand dollars for the fix. the alameda county sheriff's office tells me a total of 4 cars were targeted in that area. each with around a thousand dollars worth of damage.they believe those cars were hit by pellet guns. witnesses describe the suspect vehicles as ....a black or dark colored bmw suvand a dark colred sedan, possibly honda or bmw.there were also multiple occupants in each car, but it was hard to see any faces. i don't even understand why they're doing it. what do they get from it except for causing damage to people, taking people time where they have to fix the problemit hasn't been

confirmed by authorities ... but as the investigation continues, it appears these incidents may be related reporting from san leandro ... ali reid .. kron 4 news ( robin )look at this daring rescue! a man was swimming in the king's river... which is in the sequoia national park in the southern sierra... when he was swept down stream. dan mc-ginn was trapped between a granite wall and the river -- there was no way to get to him from the ground. so, the california highway patrol used a helicopter to pull the hiker to safety. a flight paramedic was lowered to the scene and pulled mcginn out of the water. he was not hurt.. and was reunited with his hiking group nearby. ( robin ) the city of san francisco and bart police... are joining forces to try to clean up the civic center station. you can see the problem here in this viral video posted on youtube. it shows people openly injecting and smoking drugs in a bart station hallway. now more officers will be patroling... in and around civic center station. starting july 2nd, s-f-p-d will be adding nearly 300- patrol hours.... bart police will be adding another 80- hours. police will be joined by members of the city's homeless outreach... and street medicine team. chief bill scott says, officers will try to give addicts an alternative to jail.

( james ) the attacks come just days before of the big pride parade this weekend. kron 4's will tran is live in the castro with more. san francisco's pride week is the largest lgbtq celebration in the country and one of san francisco's most popular and well-attended events. with huge crowds expected, including guests from around the world, providing safety with respect for all is our number one priority.there will be a significant police presence during pride activities, with both uniformed and plainclothes officers on duty to monitor public events. as with any large event, there are always safety concerns. safety is everyone's responsibility, including participants, organizers, security staff and law enforcement.there is no organized event taking place saturday in the castro district. there will be no

( darya ) in the east bay... chevron says a malfunctioning compressor caused flaring at the richmond refiry. the flaring started just after 4:30 yesterday afternoon. the company says the flaring didn't affect anyone in the area... and they apologized for worrying neigors. ( james ) president trump now says he's going to keep families together and won't separate children from their parents. but this morning it's not clear how his new policy will work. the president signed an executive order yesterday... to end the policy of separating families at the u-s-mexico border. up until now... the administration's zero tolerance policy meant kids -- in some cases infants-- were taken from their parents and put into federal facilities. the new order states children will remain with their parents when possible. as for the 23-hundred children separated from their parents in recent weeks... officials have said they are working to reunite families... but have provided no clear

( james ) immigrant rights advocates are finding little to cheer about in president trump's executive order. they say reuniting children with their parents is hardly a solution when these families seeking asylum are still being locked up. ( james ) immigration rights advocates say this also doesn't end family separation. they say fathers are routinely separated from mothers and children at ice detention ( james ) we're getting a look at a detention facility for the youngest immigrant children being held without their parents. this is in the tiny texas town of combes... about 20- miles from the u-s-mexico border.

( james ) a new investigation reveals schools are ánot seeing more money... despite booming california lottery sales. eight years ago.... state lawmakers eliminated a requirement that 34 cents of every lottery dollar go to education. the idea was to free up the lottery to fatten jackpots. although it would lower the percentage going to schools... extra ticket sales could push the dollar amounts higher. but the changes mean it takes longer to reach the same level of support. these days the contribution is just 23-cents. morning... a 40 year-old serial murder cold case could soon be solved. the san francisco police department says they now have a suspect. this is the sketch of the killer that was released back in 19-75. he was known for stalking the gay community in san francisco in the mid-70's. police say he would draw sketches of people in bars... strike up a conversation with them and then come back and stab them to death. he bacame known as "the doodler." his last victim was killed back in 19-75. police have connected him to five murders but say he could be responsible for as many as 14. investigators have not released a name for their new suspect but say they plan to release an updarted sketch in the near future. ( darya ) in the south bay... two men already in jail for another crime are now facing murder charges. ruben rodriguez and julian casillas are accused of killing jose mejia diaz.

in december of last year, san jose police got a call about a person shot on van winkle lane. officers found diaz who was dead. rodriguez and casillas are currently in custody at the santa clara county jail. ( james ) a judge deciding whether a southern california couple should face trial on charges of child abuse has heard a chilling 9-1-1 call from their teenage daughter. horrific testimony was heard during david and louise turpin's hearing yesterday. the couple has pleaded not guilty to charges that could carry a life sentence. the turpins' 17-year-old daughter called 9-1-1 in january after escaping from the family's riverside county home. a transcript of the call was released. the girl said her sisters were in shackles... and that she hadn't showered in a year. investigators said some of the couple's 13 children had stunted growth. they say they were beaten, starved and even put in cages. ( darya ) a daring rescue at kings canyon nation park. a visitor from canada was swimming in the kings river when he was swept down stream. he was trapped between a granite wall and the river -- there was no way to get to him from the ground. so... the c-h-p used a helicopter to pull the man to safety. he was not hurt and was reunited with his group nearby. ( james ) police say the quick thinking of a massachusetts woman helped her escape a near kidnapping. surveillance video shows the moments a car pulls up next to the jogger. and within seconds...you can see the suspect trying to grab her. the victim fought off the man before running to safety. the woman ... snapped a photo of the license plate ... leading officers to the suspect's whereabouts. authorities arrested and charged 57-year-old gordon lyons with kidnapping.

( james ) a big story this morning... a 40 year-old serial murder cold case could soon be solved. the san francisco police department says they now have a suspect. this is the sketch of the killer that was released back in 19-75. he was known for stalking the gay community in san francisco in the mid-70's. police say he would draw sketches of people in bars... strike up a conversation with them and then come back and stab them to death. he bacame known as "the doodler." his last victim was killed back in 19-75. police have connected him to five murders but say he could be responsible for as many as 14. investigators have not released a name for their new
