investigating a shooting at a popular park that sent hundreds of people running for their lives. it happened at marina park in san leandro... around 6 o'clock friday evening. the trouble started after a party was supposed to take place. the park allowed a limit of 200 people. but about 700 people showed up after news of the party posted on social media. not long after the party started... someone fired a gun... and sent everyone into a panic.

( marty ) also in the east bay. increased fire danger is prompting warnings from officials this weekend. this comes after several fires broke out in antioch and pittsburg friday. at los medanos community college ... a fire spread rapidly through dry brush and into some trees. firefighters knocked it down before it could reach homes. just an hour earlier ... there was another small fire on the side of highway 4. firefighters are concerned about the mix of dry conditions and hot temperatures.

( marty )a big story this morning ... it is a busy weekend in san francisco with tens of thousands of people expected for pride. the celebration kicks off today with events from noon to 6 p-m at the civic center plaza. crews are putting the finishing touches on the floats for sunday's pride parade. until then, the floats are being staged at pier 54 in san francisco. they will stay there until tomorrow's kick off of the parade. ( marty ) a warning for parents about the dangers of leaving a child in a car during hot weather. this after a toddler died of heat stroke in mendocino county . it was 80 degrees outside when he was discovered inside a car wednesday afternoon. deputies say the young mother. .. alexandrea scott ... left her 18 month old son inside her car for nearly 10 hours with the windows rolled up while visiting a friend. < if you're if it's ouide it's 800 after sometime 20-30 minutes inside of the car can go to 130 so people don't think about that it's got windows that let the heat in

to the trump administration's plan to build an immigrant detention facility in the east bay. the information comes from a leaked navy document. kron 4's hermela argawi reports the proposed center will be at the former naval weapons station in concord and will house 47-thousand immigrants. an immigrant detention center in the east bay?according to leaked navy documents.. that's exactly what the trump administration is planning to build on this former naval weapons base in concord.but local officials say.. not on their watch. congressman mark desaulnier/d-cathis is world war ii when we put japanese americans in internment camp. there's no need for this. this has been a completely created crisis by the president of the united states. and then to hear that this going to be done in my district, in the city that i represent and live in for many years is just unacceptable. it's madness. we

doing all they can for their baby boy ... who has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. kron 4's ella sogomonian met with benjamin and his mother at kaiser hospital in oakland... where he just had a blood transfusion. sot: shannon rutherford, mom// " i dont think a lot of people realize how much a cancer diagnosis really does impact your family and your finances." in late february two year old benjamin was diagnosed with life threatening stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer that's attacked his nervous system. sot: shannon rutherford, mom// "he just kind of jumped into my husband's arms and my husband noticed right away there was something wrong there was a large mass on his

morning... a week after a federal judge reinstated the right to die law, we are learning more about when it was used in california. ste health officials say almost 375 terminally ill people took drugs to end their lives last year. the first full year after a law making the option legal took effect. the state says that 577 people received aid-in-dying drugs but not everyone used them. a judge briefly halted the law this spring, but it has since been reinstated.
