(vicki) tonight we are following two developing stories. on the left is video from santa rosa... where a gunamn walked into a dinner party and opened fire over the weekend. now we are learning more about the victim and the motive. but first - on the right -- video from lake county - where an out of control wildfire is forcing evacuations.(grant) hello - i'm grant lodes.(vicki) and i'm vicki liviakis. tonight-- firefighters are struggling to get any containment on the pawnee fire. it's burning along p northeast of clear-lake oak. and tonight hundreds of people who live in the area have been told to get out now. here's what we know at this hour... 82-hundred acres have burned and the fire is zero percent contained. 22 buildings have been destroyed and 600 are still threatened tonight. right now there is a mandatory evacuation order for spring valley.. and double eagle ranch. (vicki) back to the other big story we are following... a santa rosa father is dead tonight. he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. he was having dinner at a neighbor's house when a colorado man burst in looking for his estranged wife and opened fire. kron 4's dan kerman has the story. police say shortly after 8 sunday night, a colorado man armed with 2 handguns and explosives burst into the santa rosa home of his son, looking for his estranged wife. sot jennifer wilson/neighbor 10-18we hear gunshot gunshot,

so many gunshots 16, 18 20 gunshots going off9 people were in the home at the time, but not the estranged wife. however police say the gunman, 65 year old walter ross opened fire anyway, killing 43 year old tim gillaspie, a neighbor who was at the home for dinner with his wife and their two sons . police say he was truly an innocent victim sot lt. john cregan/santa rosa police department 38-48 he had no idea who mr. ross was and simply heard a confrontation at the door . mr gillapsie was a hero he stepped up to the scene tried to help up the altercation at the front door and was shot there at the door. police say the gunman then wounded his 41 year old son and 4 year old grandson as they ran out of the house, both were treated and released from the hospital. the gunman then shot himself in the head. police are now piecing together a motivesot theyve been estranged for 2 years and their divorce was going to be final this month. there has been animosity over

alimony payments to his ex wife and he's been agitated and that has been building over the years.tim gillaspie leaves behind a wife and two sons , ages 14 and 11. he was a coach at rincon valley little league and that organization is not collecting donation for his family. standup dan kerman/santa rosa 132-142 (grant) all lanes of interstate 80 are back open tonight-- after a shooting investigation in san pablo. police say a man shot at them during a chase near the el portal drive exit this morning. the chase started in richmond-- after police there received reports of a man walking around with a rifle. the man then got in a car and took off. when the chase reached san pablo-- police say the gunman started shooting. nobody was injured, but officers shut down the freeway

as they searched for evidence. c-h-p officers then took over the chase and eventually arrested the suspect in fairfield. (vicki) in national news tonight... protests erupted over the weekend -- and are expected to continue this week near migrant detention centers. demonstrators oppose the detention of children who were separated from their parents at the border. natasha chen explains what's happening now with family reunifications and immigration policy in washington. protests are expected to continue this week against the separation of more than two thousand immigrant children from their parents.despite an executive order last wednesday calling for families to be detained together - attorney general jeff sessions continued to defend the trump administration's strict immigration enforcement.jeff sessions / attorney general: we are going to continue to prosecute those adults who enter here illegally. we are going to do everything in our power; however, to avoid separating families. last wednesday president trump signed an executive order stopping the separations. critics say the order does not address the children who have already been separated from their parents.sen. bill nelson / -d- florida: the executive order is a sham. it was an attempt to divert attention.so far, the department of health

pushed 911 dial, i pulled my phone out of my pocket">and started recording... nats/cellphone videothen video was posted saturday on instagram and now has video has more than a million views. online alison ettel has been dubbed #permitpatty. however prior to this ettel was known as a female entreprenuer in the cannabis industry, as the founder of treat well cannibis products. in the wake of the viral video some cannibis retailers are cutting ties with treat well. oakland based magnolia wellness issued this statement on social media "as of today, magnolia will no longer be carrying treatwell tinctures. after seeing this video of their ceo calling the police on an 8-year-old entreprenuer selling water on a hot day, we decided without hesistation that we will no longer patronize her company"> in the wake of incident ettel has said she did not actually call the police. in fact sfpd confirms they did not receive any calls about the incident. ettel did say that she used a stern voice when she approached the child about selling the water without a permit. she says that the jordan and her mom were

(catherine) andy lopez is the 13-year-old boy shot and killed by a sonoma county sheriff's deputy in october of 2013... he'd been holding what looked like an ak-47....but it was actually a plastic pellet gun made to look like one.. today the u.s. supreme court declined to get involved with the case --- leaving in place lower court decisions in favor of the teenager's family. they accuse the deputy of using excessive force. the case now goes back to a district court in oakland for trial the deputy says he shot lopez after seeing him carrying what looked like an assault rifle. he claims he fired as lopez was raising the gun toward him. the boy's parents say they don't believe he was raising the toy gun. the family's attorney says he expects a trial to get underway within the year. grant and vicki? (vicki) the 80--thousand muni metro riders who pass thru the twin peaks tunnel daily got their first experience with a major distruption that's going to go on for two months.(vicki) that 100 year old tunnel which extends from west portal to the castro is getting a much needed a seismic safety upgrade and track replacement. construction crews clogged up west portal avenue today with equiptment. riders who rely on the m,k & l lines to get around will have to take bus bridges until the work is done in late august. muni says when complete, the trains will be able to travel faster in the tunnel. the system is designed to go 55 miles per hour 55 miles and hour now the fillings would rattle in your teeth, it would be a very uncomfortable ride, so clearly when we get this work all done it will be safer, smoother, quieter. tonight at 5:30... a wildfire in lake county continues to burn out of control (vikci) governor brown has declared a state of emergency so more resources can be sent to help fight the fire. here's what we know right now... the fire has burned nearly 13 square miles since it broke out on saturday. 22 buildings have been destroyed... and around 600 are still threatened. three-thousand people have been evacuated from their homes. right now-- there is no containment. (vicki) in the south bay. a teen is arrested..after nearly hitting a police officer with a car. the incident happened last month... at the 76 gas station on south park victoria drive in milpitas. there an officer recognized two acura integras and a red dodge challenger...all believed to be stolen vehicles. the officer tried to stop the cars...but they all sped off...the challenger nearly hitting the officer. authorities found that red challeger in san jose...and arrested the driver... a 15- year-old boy...who is being held at the santa clara county juvenile detention center. (grant) in the east bay... a man is offering a cash reward to find the person... who stole a package right off his porch. this happened saturday morning in oakland's glenview

neighborhood on brighton avenue. the security video shows a woman get out of a red car parked on the street... run up to the porch... grab the box... and then run back to the car. the kron 4 viewer who sent us this video says the package was delivered 6-minutes before it was stolen. he is offering 500- dollars to anyone who can identify the woman and return the stolen package. he says it contained a high-end duffel bag worth more than 15- hundred dollars. (vicki) in the north bay... police in petaluma arrest a man who they say had sex with a 13-year-old girl. police say 24-year-old brent spivey... from southern california... met the girl on social media and visited her in december of 2017 when he had sex with her. earlier this year... police pretended to be the girl on social media in order to track spivey down. when he arrived back in the bay area yesterday morning... thinking he was going to meet with the girl... he was taken into custody. he is being held on 500- thousand dollars bail. (vicki) another big story tonight... a fire captain in long beach has died -- after being shot early today at the scene of a fire.. (grant) a second firefighter was also shot - and is in stable condition. catherine heenan is here with the latest..,includi ng shockingnews from investigators tonight.. member of the long beach fire department for the last 17 years, was killed inin the of duty this morning while responding to that structure fire. fire. the news tonight -- 77-year-old thomas kim has been arrested on suspicionof murder, attempted murder and arson. there's no word of a possible motive yet. he's accused of killing camptain rosa - and hitting another firefighterwho was badly injured. also - of injuring a fellow resident. police also say two explosive devices were found in kim's apartment.and they found a revolver. grant and vicki? a vendor at a canadian festival used absurdity to make a point about marketing... by selling "hot dog water" for $38 a bottle. the hot dog water was for sale at a stand at the healthy-living festival. it was labeled as gluten free, "keto diet" compatible, and a good source of electrolytes. it also promised to help you lose weight and increase brain function. each bottle had a real hot dog inside. the man behind the water eventually revealed it was a stunt to inspire people to think more critically about health claims in product marketing. more than 60 people bought-- and drank-- the hot dog water.
