(robin) a tough fight happening in the air and on the ground to contain the pawnee fire in lake county. the fire has burned more than 10-thousand acres.right now it is only 5-percent contained. kron 4's charles clifford is in lake county with more. well, right now i'm at the evacuation center just outside of clear lake oaks. moose lodge. there are dozens of people here who had to flee the fire which is still burning about 5 miles to the east.through out the day monday, fire crews on the ground and in air worked to contain the pawnee fire, which is buring through steep rugged terrain northeast of clearlake. cal fire said monday evening that just over 10,000 acres have been burned and the fire is only about 5 percent contained. 12 homes have been lost, but fire crews have been able to save most of houses in spring valley near where the fire started. although the weather remains hot and dry with light winds the fire is now moving northeast away from the most populated areas, althoug the community of double eagle ranch was evacauted on monday afternoon.natsat the evacuation center, supplies have been pouring in and neighbors have been getting updates on the fire fight. sot

looking for his estranged wife. nine people were there, but not the wife. police say the gunman, 65 year old walter ross opened fire killing 43 year old tim gillaspie-- a neighbor who was there with his wife and their two sons . police say he is an innocent victim. (robin) police say the gunman then shot and injured his 41 year old son and 4 year old grandson as they ran out of the house... both were treated and released from the hospital. (robin) we are leanring more details on the victim-- tim gillaspie... he coached little league in rincon valley. the team has an all-star game last night. and as kron 4's ali reid tells us... many other volunteer coaches are remembering the 43-year-old victim.

it's a somber time for everyone that knew the victim. they're also concerned about the well-being of his wife and 2 young sons, who are also part of the baseball community. pkghe loved the mets, so do shane and conner. i'm wearing this shirt for themtoday's all- star game carried on at rincon valley little league ... aside from cheering on the boys playing their hearts out ... there was sadness in the air. he was well known. anyone that's been around rincon valley the last couple years knew tim. they knew he'd do anything for his familylittle league coach tim gillaspie (gal-les-py) has been a fixture in this field for years. he was a solid family guy. he loved the parkhearing gillaspie was killed by a crazed gunman opening fire inside a dinner party at his neighbors house ... with his wife and children essing it all .... is heart wrenching. but how the year old died didn't surprise anyone.when we found out what happened, we all just assumed tim stood up front to confront the guy. he's the guy that's going to stand up and protect

his family and friends so that part doesn't surprise me. he's not going to take anything from anybody and he's going to protect his family and friends gillaspie coached both baseball and basketball in order to spend more time with his sons. the league started a fundraiser to help the family. it's sad you know bcuz knowing katrina and conner and shane, his boys, and what they're going through, the community is going to support them as much as we can but that's not something i can imagine someone going through standup police say the gunman may have intended to hurt even more people.his car was found near the home .... packed with explosives.authorities were able to detonate them before anyone was hurt.reporting live from santa rosa ... ali reid ... kron 4 news (robin) the supreme court is letting the family of a bay area teen who was fatally shot by police ---go forward with their lawsuit. andy lopez was shot and killed by a sonoma county sheriff's deputy in october of 2013... the

13 year old had been holding what looked like an ak-47....but it was actually a plastic pellet gun.. the u.s. supreme court declined to get involved with the case. the case now goes back to a district court in oakland for trial. (robin) police arrested and identified five men in connection with an armed robbery in santa cruz. these are the five men who are in custody. bryce bertao... juan escobar... roberto ramirez... de'marie strong... and john zarate. it happenend saturday night in a parking lot police say after beating a 50-year-old victim... one man shot him in the head. the man survived and is still in the hospital recovering from injuries. ( james ) happening now... police in sunnyvale are investigating the death of a man after his body was found outside of a business. the man's body was found yesterday afternoon lying near a fence on the 800 block of east fremont avenue. police are still working to determine the man's name and how he died. california voters will be able to repeal the state's gas tax that's meant to fund road repairs. supporters of the repeal collected nearly one million signatures to place it on the ballot. some drivers are struggling with the high gas prcies due to the 12-cents a gallson gas tax. the revenue is meant to maintain roads and bridges.. but the backlash has been huge as gas prices have soarded in recent months.

paying the most expensive in the state... gas costs 3.82 a gallon. ( james ) happening today... the mother and son accused of running a massive prostitution ring in the bay area will be in court... to enter their pleas. police say david romesburg and his mother, fay, ran the ring in rohnert park for more than 10- years. during that time -- police say they employed about 150 women. at least woman says she was underage when they recruited her. another says she was sexually assaulted during her interview. ( darya ) in the east bay... hercules police are warning residents to be on the look out for burglars. an attempted home burglary happened yesterday on the 200 block of obsidian. the two would-be theives were scared away by the home owner and fled in this car. then a short time later, a homeowner in the 11-hundred block of south shelter bay reported two burglars in his home. he woke up to the sound of his front door being kicked in. after discovering someone was home, the burglars ran away.

( darya ) the supreme court is letting the family of a bay area teen who was fatally shot by police ---go andy lopez was shot and killed by a sonoma county sheriff's den santa rosa in october of 2013. the 13 year old had been holding what looked like an a-k-47....but it was actually a plastic pellet gun made to look like one. the supreme court declined to get involved with the case --- leaving in place lower court decisions in favor of the teenager's family. the case now goes back to a district court in oakland for trial. ( james ) san francisco's minumum wage is going up in just a few days. starting july first... employees working in the city must be paid 15 dollars an hour. that includes part-time and temporary workers. workers are getting a one-dollar raise. san francisco and emeryville will have the highest minimum wages in the bay area. emeryville's is also going up to 15-dollars. almena and his co-defendant max harris could face up to 39 years in prison is they are convicted of the charges. the trial is scheduled to begin on july 16. ( darya ) san francisco police have arrested a 19- year-old man for stabbing 2 men during pride celebrations. the attack happened sunday night on the 200 block of golden gate avenue. one the of victims was stabbed in the stomach and legs... his injuries are life-threatening. the another man was stabbed in the back... he's expected to be okay. ( james ) happening now... police in sunnyvale are investigating the death of a man after his body was found outside of a business. the man's body was found yesterday afternoon lying near a fence on the 800 block of east fremont avenue. police are still working to determine the man's name and how he died. ( james ) a 19-year-old man is arrested in berkeley after he drove his car into the marina with his girlfriend inside. by the time polce got to the scene sunday night, the man and his girlfriend had already been rescued by good

samaritans. police say the man intentionally drove the car into the water after an argument with his girlfriend. the driver is being charged with attempted murder. ( james ) santa cruz police have arrested 5 people accused of armed robbery. these are the five men who are in custody. bryce bertao... juan escobar... roberto ramirez... de'marie strong... and john zarate. the robbery happened saturday night in a parking lot officers say after beating a 50-year-old ctim... one of the suspects shot him in the head. the man will survive. police found some of the victim's belongings inside the suspects' car. ( james ) old fisherman's wharf in monterey is replacing single-use straws with alternatives that are better for the environment. plastic straws at the wharf will be replaced with paper or reusable straws. 17 wharf restaurants and fish markets will take part in the effort to limit plastic straw use. monterey has joined a growing list of cities opting to replace plastic straws... including santa cruz... san francisco... and oakland.
