(robin) a tough fight happening in the air and on the ground to contain the pawnee fire in lake county. the fire has burned more than 10-thousand acres.right now it is only 5-percent contained. kron 4's charles clifford is in lake county with more. well, right now i'm at the evacuation center just outside of clear lake oaks. moose lodge. there are dozens of people here who had to flee the fire which is still burning about 5 miles to the east.through out the day monday, fire crews on the ground and in air worked to contain the pawnee fire, which is buring through steep rugged terrain northeast of clearlake. cal fire said monday evening that just over 10,000 acres have been burned and the fire is only about 5 percent contained. 12 homes have been lost, but fire crews have been able to save most of houses in spring valley near where the fire started. although the weather remains hot and dry with light winds the fire is now moving northeast away from the most populated areas, althoug the community of double eagle ranch was evacauted on monday afternoon.natsat the evacuation center, supplies have been pouring in and neighbors have been getting updates on the fire fight. sot

looking for his estranged wife. nine people were there, but not the wife. police say the gunman, 65 year old walter ross opened fire killing 43 year old tim gillaspie-- a neighbor who was there with his wife and their two sons . police say he is an innocent victim. (robin) police say the gunman then shot and injured his 41 year old son and 4 year old grandson as they ran out of the house... both were treated and released from the hospital. (robin) we are leanring more details on the victim-- tim gillaspie... he coached little league in rincon valley. the team has an all-star game last night. and as kron 4's ali reid tells us... many other volunteer coaches are remembering the 43-year-old victim.

13 year old had been holding what looked like an ak-47....but it was actually a plastic pellet gun.. the u.s. supreme court declined to get involved with the case. the case now goes back to a district court in oakland for trial. (robin) police arrested and identified five men in connection with an armed robbery in santa cruz. these are the five men who are in custody. bryce bertao... juan escobar... roberto ramirez... de'marie strong... and john zarate. it happenend saturday night in a parking lot police say after beating a 50-year-old victim... one man shot him in the head. the man survived and is still in the hospital recovering from injuries. (robin) san francisco's minumum wage will increase next mon... starting july first...employees working in the city must be paid 15 dollars an hour. that includes part-time and temporary workers. people are getting a one-dollar raise... last year they earned 14 dollars an hour. san francisco and emeryville will have the highest minimum wages in the bay area starting next month. (robin) old fisherman's wharf in monterey...is opting to replace single-use straws...with alternatives that are better for the environment. plastic straws at the wharf will be replaced with paper or reusable straws. 17 wharf restaurants and fish markets will participate in the effort to limit plastic use. monterey has joined a growing list of cities opting to replace plastic straws.

to put a stop to this problem a lot of cars get broken into and it's just easy when there are bags in the back it takes three seconds for them smash a window and grab everything and runby education and enforcement now, if you have been following along a few months back i noticed at vista point there was something missing signs alerting tourists that there is a problem.. so at least most visitors could be alerted and act accordingly so i circled back to see if any changes has been made and i noticed about 5 different signs this one and 4 other that looked like this and before you laugh out loud the signs were created by the marin office of the california highway patrol and are prototypes of temporary signs... until caltrans can install something more official but what are visitors saying people are always going to steal from you if there are a lot of tourist around and when i asked about the signs maybe somebody is just trying to alert people, because people are looking at the golden gate bridge, they're looking at alcatraz they are looking at a lot of different stuff and they are not watching their valuables i think the real problem is prop 47, that's the real problem here it's a slap on the wrist if you get caught breaking into a car now i know signs won't fix the problem because on the san francisco side there are signs yet two

( james ) happening now... the pawnee fire -- burning in lake county -- has spread to more than 10- thousand acres.( darya ) but the flames are moving toward the áleapopulated parts of the county. here is a look at the latest numbers. the 10-thousand acre fire is 5-percent contained. 22 buildings are destroyed... including 12 homes. mandatory evacuations are in effect. so far... 15-hundred people have been told to get out. ( darya ) 600 homes are still threatened by the fire in lake county. firefighters are working around the clock... so that evacuees can return home. for many... the worst part is not knowing if their homes are still standing. the entire spring valley community is under a mandatory evacuation order. one woman took video of the fire raging out of control near her home.

california voters will be able to repeal the state's gas tax that's meant to fund road repairs. supporters of the repeal collected nearly one million signatures to place it on the ballot. some drivers are struggling with the high gas prcies due to the 12-cents a gallson gas tax. the revenue is meant to maintain roads and bridges.. but the backlash has been huge as gas prices have soarded in recent months.

( darya ) the supreme court is letting the family of a bay area teen who was fatally shot by police ---go andy lopez was shot and killed by a sonoma county sheriff's den santa rosa in october of 2013. the 13 year old had been holding what looked like an a-k-47....but it was actually a plastic pellet gun made to look like one. the supreme court declined to get involved with the case --- leaving in place lower court decisions in favor of the teenager's family. the case now goes back to a district court in oakland for trial. ( james ) san francisco's minumum wage is going up in just a few days. starting july first... employees working in the city must be paid 15 dollars an hour. that includes part-time and temporary workers. workers are getting a one-dollar raise. san francisco and emeryville will have the highest minimum wages in the bay area. emeryville's is also going up to 15-dollars. a-k-47....but it was actually a plastic pellet gun made to look like one. the supreme court declined to get involved with the case --- leaving in place lower court decisions in favor of the teenager's family. the case now goes back to a district court in oakland for trial. ( james ) san francisco's minumum wage is going up in just a few days. starting july first... employees working in the city must be paid 15 dollars an hour. that includes part-time and temporary workers. workers are getting a one-dollar raise. san francisco and emeryville will have the highest minimum wages in the bay area. emeryville's is also going up to 15-dollars. ( james ) old fisherman's wharf in monterey is replacing single-use straws with alternatives that are better for the environment. plastic straws at the wharf will be replaced with paper or reusable straws. 17 wharf restaurants and fish markets will take part in the effort to limit plastic straw use. monterey has joined a growing list of cities opting to replace plastic straws... including santa cruz... san francisco... and oakland.
