(lydia) a big story this morning... the "county fire" -- which started in yolo county -- is now 60-thousand acres and containment is at just 5- percent. the fire has reached napa county... where evacuation áadvisories have been issued. mandatory evacuations are in effect for part of yolo county. and right now... 700 buildings are threatened. kron 4's charles clifford has the latest from yolo county on how the fire fight is going. on monday, cal fire scrambled to contain the rapidly expanding yolo county fire. more than 1200 fire fighters and 119 fire engines are now asssigned to this blaze. 29 aircraft also made water and

(lydia) now to the pawnee fire burning in lake county... that fire is now 75- percent contained. it has burned more than 14-thousand acres. the double eagle subdivision remains under mandatory evacuation orders... an evacuation advisory is in effect in the area... between highway 20 and morgan valley road... and from sky high ridge road to the county line. (lydia) a fire that forced evacuations in the east bay is now under control. that brush fire burned dangerously close to homes in moraga, and forced about 20 homes to evacuate... the fire broke out just after 1:30- yesterday afternoon ... in the area of moraga road and buckingham drive. it burned around 15 - acres... fire officials say, it started in an open space ... behind homes. two air tankers

and a helicopter were brought in to assist ground crews .. as they fought to get containment of the fire. no injuries reported. (lydia) state lawmakers are considering changing the standards for determining if utility companies are liable for wildfires. this comes after one of the worst wildfire seasons in state history. lawmakers announced that they are forming a special committee specifically to discuss wildfires. last month... fire officials determined that p-g-and-e power lines and utility poles were responsible for a dozen wildfires last fall. 44 people died in wildfires last october. more than 8-thousand buildings were destroyed resulting in 10- billion dollars worth of insurance claims. (lydia) another big story we are following this morning... as americans kick off the 4th of july holiday week -- security is a big priority across the country. in ohio - a man has been arrested and accused of planning an independence day attack on downtown cleveland. he also reportedly talked about coming to san francisco. karin caifa has the

latest.. authorities have arrested a cleveland man they say had a terrifying goal this fourth of july.justin herdman/u.s. attorney: this defendant was walking around downtown cleveland conduction reconnaissance on what he thought was a large scale attack.on monday, the f-b-i cleveland division announced the arrest of demetrius nathaniel pitts. they say days ago he told an undercover agent he was planning to carry out a large-scale attack on the holiday.justin herdman/u.s. attorney: he looked for locations to park a van that would be packed with explosives.before his arrest sunday, authorities say pitts reiterated his plans to inflict mass harm and specifically target military members and their families. the details are chilling. justin herdman/u.s. attorney: just yesterday he discussed giving remote control cars packed with explosives and shrapnel to the children of our military and uniformed members. pitts, also know as abdur raheem rafeeq, was charged in federal court with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. he had been under f-b-i surveillance since

"could you just make an announcement for people to not drink coffee on bart." (lydia) according to the viewer who sent us this video... this man was asking an attendant to do something about a passenger drinking coffee on the train.... but the attendant didn't make an attempt to intervene. some might see this as another overreaction to a relatively minor offense. but bart's policies clearly state drinking anything on trains is against the rules. (lydia) the high cost of housing has led to a growing number of people living in motorhomes and other vehicles on the streets. mountain view has its share but as kron four's rob fladeboe reports.... a new effort is underway to provide some of those people with safe parking and other services. it's not just mountain view of course but there are at least 40 motorhomes pickup trucks and other vehicles parked here on crissanta avenue right next to the caltrain tracks. there are at least 300 city wide. this month, a 2-year pilot program begins that will allow some of these vehicles to

the average american. washington correspondent morgan wright reports, congress sent the president a bill to develop a firefighters' cancer registry from house fires to wildfires -on the job firefighters expose themselves to harmful health risks daily... every fire that they go on there are more exposures happening to those firefighters...patrick morrison with the international association of firefighters says despite all the risks associated with being a firefighter - the number one risk is cancer... we lose more firefighters per year for cancer than we do with any other cause in firefighting new york congressman chris collins says his legislation - the firefighter cancer registry act would develop a link between cancer and firefighters and track the incidences of cancer among all firefighters and the types of fires they respond to... if 6 firefighters fought a particular chemical fire and 18 years later all came down with cancer - there's the direct linkage and the idea here is to get better

(lydia) a local newspaper in solano county is becoming the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons. people in the l-g-b-t-q community are saying a column written by the vice mayor titled -- "straight pride month" is hurtful. lonnie wong has the story. julie monson isn't alone in her outrage over the subject of vice mayor ted hickman's regular column in the independent voice, a paper he helped start decades ago.in hickman's column often seeks to use humor...declared july first "straight pride american month" in which a rainbow logo is nixed.hickman says it's a celebration being healthy heterosexuals adding... teenagers are making it their business to spread love and inspiration one pair of socks at a time. 12 year old raechel chang and 15 year old matthew chang designed a line of socks with uplifting messages and colorful designs. the company is called greeting card socks and was launched in february. the socks cost between six and ten dollars. the siblings sell them online or in person at events. they say they hope their words can uplift people in their time of need. < raechel chang/co founder, greeting card socks: "our goal is to get it out of just our community and get it everywhere." matthew chang/co founder, greeting card socks: "the main thing i've learned is that words have power and do influence what you do and how you think.">(lydia) and for every purchase the teens will donate a pair of socks and a greeting card to someone in need. so far around 200 pairs of socks have been sold. bay....the search is on for the owner of this adorable pitbull. an officer says the dog is so friendly she just jumped into his parked patrol car... it happened sunday evening near newell and broadway plaza in walnut creek... police say the dog did this to let him know she was lost. she is currently at the contra costa animal service center in martinez. the dog has no microchip... but is at a healthy weight... and officers just want to reunite her with her owners. hurt two relatives in santa rosa... has died from his injuries. 65-year-old walter ross shot himself in the head. authorities say ross barged into his son's home with guns and explosives... looking for his estranged wife. she wasn't there... but ross shot and killed 43-year-old tim gillaspie. he also shot and injured his 41-year old son and 4-year old grandson. both were treated and released from the hospital. ross then shot himself in the head. he died saturday. ross's divorce from his wife was to become final this month. ( james ) in the east bay... a man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison... for a 2014 jewelry store robbery... that left his accomplice dead. trai jones was sentenced after pleading guilty to robbery and assault charges. prosecutors had charged jones with murder. but they dropped the charge in exchange for the guilty plea. jones' accomplice... 20-year-old david carter...

( james ) a federal judge says the government is violating its own rules regarding the treatment of people seeking asylum. the judge issued a preliminary injunction... ordering ice to stop what opponents called the arbitrary detention of legitimate asylum seekers. all immigrants seeking asylum must pass an initial screening to determine if they face a real threat of persecution in their home countries. previously... those who passed were usually given humanitarian parole while awaiting an immigration hearing. ( darya ) happening today... the two men charged in the deadly ghost ship warehouse fire will plead guilty. back in december of 20-16 ... 36- people died in that fire in oakland. derek almena and max harris were arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter. almena's lawyer says his client has agreed to an 8-year prison term. the deals are ánot the same for harris and almena. details of the plea deals will be announced this afternoon... when the defendants return to court. ( james ) state lawmakers are considering changing the standards for determining if utility companies are liable for wildfires. this comes after one of the worst wildfire seasons in state history. lawmakers announced that they are forming a special committee specifically to discuss wildfires. last month... fire officials determined that p-g-and-e power lines and utility poles were responsible for a dozen wildfires last fall. 44 people died in wildfires last october. more than 8-thousand buildings

( james ) the colorado gunman who killed one man and hurt two relatives in santa rosa... has died from his injuries. 65-year-old walter ross shot himself in the head. authorities say ross barged into his son's home with guns and explosives... looking for his estranged wife. she wasn't there... but ross shot and killed 43-year-old tim gillaspie. he also shot and injured his 41-year old son and 4-year old grandson. both were treated and released from the hospital. ross then shot himself in the head. he died saturday. ross's divorce from his wife was to become final this month. ( james ) in san francisco... police are investigating a deadly shooting in the bayview district. it happened just before 5:30 yesterday morning... near in the area of fitzgerald avenue and arelious walker drive. no arrest has been made and police have not released a description of the shooter.
