(catherine) in thailand....there's a flurry of activity outside the cave where 12 young boys and their soccer coach are trapped by flooding. you're looking at an evacuation drill...as divers get ready to go back underground... military planners are trying to decide on the least dangerous option for getting everyone out......and 'none' of those options is good. there's new video of the children...some of them are smiling...but mostly after the person behind the camera tells them to... they've been in that cave for nearly 12 days now..

they have blankets and food...and a medical team is with them.. but there's no final decision on whether to try teaching them how to swim out using scuba gear - or possibly wait months for the water levels to go down. the idea of bringing them out through flooded, narrow tunnelsis considered frightening and dangerous... it's a narrow passage so there's lots of flow still going on so although it goes down it still becomes a hazard just being in the water and going with the flow or going against it. its hard work. it's a scary sensation if you're not used to it. even when you are used to it, it can be very scary.we've seen these kids and the videos and what we've heard about them is that they are extremely strong and they have clearly the will to survive. there was a fuss outside the cave early today when a well-known and revered monk was brought in to pray for the boys and their coach. volunteers, meantime, are preparing food for them. this is rice and pork......and they

and vandalism.mark brownell/owner, santa cruz-aptos auto towing:"it's super frustrating to go downtown and have nowhere to park and the lots are all full, but you have to respect people's rights, private property is private property." this towing company has had about four incidents with people breaking in to get their cars.he also says they see an increase in calls for towing during holidays so be sure to leave yourself extra time to find parking so it doesn't end up here. at the marine mammal center, the environment is everything. we want to do our very best for each and every animal, and we want to operate a sustainable facility. and pg&e has been a partner helping us to achieve that. we've helped the marine mammal center go solar, install electric vehicle charging stations, and become more energy efficient. pg&e has allowed us to be the most sustainable organization we can be. any time you help a customer, it's a really good feeling. it's especially so when it's a customer that's doing such good and important work for the environment. together, we're building a better california. get enough of the bay area.
