many people will be headed to the beach today. the national weather service has issued a warning for bay area beaches today. dangerous sneaker waves and rip currents are very possible... mainly because of a hurricane off the coast of mexico. kron 4's sara stinson is live at ocean beach in san francisco... take reporter:marty - many people will be heading to the beach today to enjoy the hot weather - but all beach goers need to be more cautious than normal as they could see some dangerous conditions out there. the national weather services has put out a warning

( marty ) new this morning ...firefighters are mopping up a structure fire in santa clara. it broke out last night at "the by-the-bucket" restaurant location on stevens creek boulevard. that restaurant has been closed for about a year. there are no reports of injuries, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. ( marty )in the north bay... the yolo county wildfire is now 42 -percent contained.

the fire has burned more than 88-thousand acres-thats three times the size of san francisco. and at last check, has destroyed 10- structures. kron-4's charles clifford .. reports from yolo county... where firefighters are worried about possible flare ups this hot weekend. well, here in yolo county on friday calm winds, lower temps and higher humidty has allowed crews to make progress on this fire, but with warmer weather in forecast they are working hard to keep it contained.through out the day friday, fire crews on the groundnatsand in the air continued to knock down flare up through out the burnzone.natsmost of the fire fighting is now happenin on the northern end of the burnzone.sotthey are making bucket drops with helicopters trying to cool down some of those hot spots that have established themselves in the canyons.while this fire is not nearly as active as it was earlier in the week there is still concern it could flare up again. sotthey haven't

company wants patients to follow warnings about twelve recalled medications. novartis recalled certain pills in blister card packages -- including zofran. the company says there is nothing wrong with the medicine. the problem is with the packaging. it does not meet the u-s child resistance standards. one child swallowed medication from one of the packs. the same prescriptions in bottles are not affected by the recall. if you have medication from novartis in a blister card package, put it out of reach of children and call company's customer service number. to the kaiser family foundation, more than a dozen insurers who thought about leaving the affordable care act exchanges, are coming back for 20-19. experts say insurers made enough money in the private sector last year to return to the public marketplace. analysts say that the inability in congress to repeal obamacare, makes the future of the plan seem a lile more stable. and with more companies competing in the market, it could mean better prices for consumers. some missing cats have pet owners on alert in one mountain view neighborhood. kron four's rob fladeboe reports the cats are thought to havefallen prey to coyotes. missing cat flyers like this one can be seen in and around mountain view's cooper park.

at least four cats have gone missing in recent weeks, including this one. 14-year- old mario was attacked by a coyote here on fairbrook drive. wesley brandemuehl is mario's owner.wesley brandemuehl/cat killed by coyote "....it was about three in the morning and our next door neighbor came outside to find a coyote eating mario, they scared off the coyote but it was too late for poor mario..."it's not unusal for coyotes, like this one i encountered recently in san jose's east foothills, to venture into urban areas in search of food and prey. vector control confirms there has been a cluster of coyote sightings on and around fairbrook drive. small dogs may also be at risk. mario's neighborhood is now trying to keep their pets indoors at night.wesley brandemuehl

"....people are trying to keep their cats inside but its a problem, i have one neighbor who has a cat that literally goes stir crazy if it's kept indoors for too long..." brandemuehl and his neighbors are convinced the coyotes are living along the nearby stevens creek wildlife corridor, whch is dry, suggesting the coyotes may also be looking for water. sadly, other than keeping pets and pet food inside at night, mario's owner knows there isn't much else that can be done.wesley brandemuehl "....it you read up on coyotes you find out they do stuff like this all the time but it's here, it's our pets and it's hard to stay detached from it all..."vector control says coyotes are not afraid of humans but attacks on humans are extremely rare in mountain view rob fladeboe kron 4 news ( marty ) on the peninsula ... palo alto police are searching for a suspect in an apartment burglary. police have released a new sketch of the suspect. the victim returned to her apartment on the 300 block of curtner avenue ... and found the suspect rummaging through her belongings last weekend. police say he pushed her into a wall and ran away with jewelry and money. the suspect is described as a white man, in his late teens to early twenties, he's

approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds ( marty )and we have an update on a double shooting in antioch. hosppital officials say the second victim has died. police responded to the shooting on delta fair boulevard thursday morning. they found two women had been shot. 28 year old milan ardoin ... died at the scene. 55-year old valinda scott later died at the hospital. police have not released any information on a suspect. ( marty ) a home invasion suspect was met with gunfire afer breaking into an east bay home. police are calling the homeowner's actions ... an act of self defense. kron4's dan kerman reports the intruder was shot and is in the hospital this morning. in the front window of this richmond home a bullet hole... another one in the door of the car parked out front. it's an indication of what went on here shortly after midnightsot sgt. lynette parker/richmond police 10-17a 47 year old man attempted to break into two homes, before successfully entering a home on alta mira

( marty ) today is critical in the rescue operation to get the 12 boys and their soccer coach out of the flooded cave in thailand. heavy rain is forecast for tomorrow. officials say the rescue operation may happen soon. a professional thai navy seal has already died during the dangerous diving operations. kron 4's hermela aregawi spoke with a local expert about what it's

going to take to save the boys. 12 boys.. 11 to 16 years.. and their 25 year old soccer coach... trapped in this cave located in the northern thailand for the last two weeks.as oxygen levels drop.. the first order of business for rescue teams was to deliver extra oxygen by diving through water chambers in the cave..a mission that killed a navy seal friday morning.dr. walter mooney/usgsthe cave is very complicated and very uneven. so when the water came in, it created these flooded pools. but they're not the kind of pools you would go to in your nieghborhood. these are very intricate bent chambers. and the divers unfortunately got caught in one of the chambers. probably he couldn't find a way to the surface,.dr. walter mooney.. a seismologist and geophysicist with the usgs.. says.. the stituation is delicate but hopeful. part of what makes it hopeful is that the cave is located in a seismically stable area.dr. walter mooney/usgsthe location of this crisis is in northern thailand in a very stable area. there are no

earthquakes. there is virtually no chance that the cave will collapse due to an earthquake like might happen in japan or some seismically active regiona few options have been discussed among rescue experts. leaving the bousleaving the boys in the cave until the water recedes so they can walk out the way they came in.. teaching them hot to scuba dive so they can make what's been described as a gnarly five hour journey or drill into the gave to pull them out. but experts agree... it is going to be a delicate and difficult task dr. walter mooney/usgsevery cave is different and they're very complicated. a simple diagram might make it look like a walk down a hallway but it's anything but that. this is a really very delicate crisis that we are facing.

police say were called by a man who lives here, reporting he found a duffle bag on the property that contained three hanguns, a rifle and six boxes of ammunition.... and, that he has no idea how the bag got here.ryan johansen/lieutenant- "it's out of the ordinary, especially to have a bag that contains multiple firearms and ammunition in this case and to have really no idea where it came from or who it belongs to." it's also unclear if the guns are illegal. lieutenant ryan johansen says they don't appear to have been modified.ryan johansen/lieute nant- "having these guns accessible where someone could have gotten ahold of them and maybe done damage with them would be bad or a child getting ahold of them would obviously be very bad. but in addition to that, its possible they've already been used in some sort of a crime, or that they're stolen from a residential burglary or otherwise. and, we'd like to find out what the case is here." police were able to remove the duffle bag without any issues. it did not contain any explosives.ryan johansen/lieutenant- "as to any ongoing threat to the public, the guns are with the police department now, so i would say no. however, there certainly is a back story to

( marty )in the north bay... the yolo county wildfire is now 48 -percent contained this morning. the fire has burned more than 88-thousand acres-thats three times the size of san francisco. and at last check, has destroyed 10- structures. kron-4's charles clifford .. reports from yolo county... where firefighters are worried about possible flare ups this well, here in yolo county on friday calm winds, lower temps and higher humidty has allowed crews to make progress on this fire, but with warmer weather in forecast they are working hard to keep it contained.through out the day friday, fire crews on the groundnatsand in the air continued to knock down flare up through out the burnzone.natsmost of the fire fighting is now happenin on the northern end of the burnzone.sotthey are making bucket drops with helicopters trying to cool down some of those hot spots that have established themselves in the canyons.while this fire is not nearly as active as it was earlier in the week there is

morning... a pharmaceutical company wants patients to follow warnings about twelve recalled medications. novartis recalled certain pills in blister card packages -- including zofran. the company says there is nothing wrong with the medicine. the problem is with the packaging. it does not meet the u-s child resistance standards. one child swallowed medication from one of the packs. the same prescriptions in bottles are

robberies. police say 64- year-old llyod banks is responsible for at least 13- robberies ... most of those at businesses on market street. officials say, 11 liquor stores and resturants were robbed by the suspect.he is now facing at least 37 different felony charges. ( marty ) today is critical in the rescue operation to get the 12 boys and their soccer coach out of the flooded cave in thailand. heavy rain is forecast for tomorrow. officials say the rescue operation may happen soon. a professional thai navy seal has already died during the dangerous diving operations. kron 4's hermela aregawi spoke with a local expert about what it's going to take to save the boys. 12 boys.. 11 to 16 years.. and their 25 year old soccer coach... trapped in this cave located in the northern thailand for the last two weeks.as oxygen levels drop.. the first order of business for rescue teams was to deliver extra oxygen by diving through water chambers in the cave..a mission that killed a

navy seal friday morning.dr. walter mooney/usgsthe cave is very complicated and very uneven. so when the water came in, it created these flooded pools. but they're not the kind of pools you would go to in your nieghborhood. these are very intricate bent chambers. and the divers unfortunately got caught in one of the chambers. probably he couldn't find a way to the surface,.dr. walter mooney.. a seismologist and geophysicist with the usgs.. says.. the stituation is delicate but hopeful. part of what makes it hopeful is that the cave is located in a seismically stable area.dr. walter mooney/usgsthe location of this crisis is in northern thailand in a very stable area. there are no earthquakes. there is virtually no chance that the cave will collapse due to an earthquake like might happen in japan or some seismically active regiona few options have been discussed among rescue experts. leaving the bousleaving the boys in the

man in san bruno called police, after discovering a duffle bag filled with guns and ammunition in his home. and, he says he has no idea how it got there. kron four's philippe djegal spoke with police about this puzzling ca. (philippe) a neighbor says he saw investigators at this house thursday evening... searching the property on san marco avenue. san bruno police say were called by a man who lives here, reporting he found a duffle bag on the property that contained three hanguns, a rifle and six boxes of ammunition.... and, that he has no idea how the bag got here.ryan johansen/lieutenant- "it's out of the ordinary, especially to have a bag that contains multiple firearms and ammunition in this case and to have really no idea where it came from or who it belongs to." it's also unclear if the guns are illegal. lieutenant ryan johansen says they don't appear to have been modified.ryan johansen/lieute
