( marty ) that breaking news we are following is out of thailand. we have good news for you this morning. divers have rescued at least four and possibly six boys after they were trapped in a flooded cave for more than 2 weeks. this is brand new video of one of those boys being transported to the hospital by helicopter. six more boys and their coach are still trapped in that cave. as the rescue effort continues. good morning and thanks for joining us on kron 4 news weekend. i'm marty gonzalez. ( marty ) we want to get right to this story that the world has been watching for the past several days. kron 4's lidia pantazes has been following the changing developments. ( lydia ) marty... there

are now reports that 6 members of that boy's soccer team are out of that cave. the operation to remove those kids and their coach began around 8 last night. ambulances have been seen leaving the cave and heading to the hospital. this is the latest video into our newsroom this morning. right now it is unclear who was inside those ambulances. 3 foreign and five thai divers were taking part in the rescue and two divers will accompany each boy as they're gradually extracted. the boys and their coach became stranded when they went exploring in the cave after a practice game june 23. monsoon flooding cut off their escape and prevented rescuers from finding them for almost 10 days. when they were found they were malnourished and weak. over the last few days there have been growing concerns that more storms in the forecast could leave the boys trapped until october. oxygen levels in the cave were also begining to drop making

the rescue more urgent. it takes 11 hours for rescuers to get from the entrance of the cave to the boys and back. they say it could take a couple days to finish the rescue. the condition of the boys who have been rescued is unknown. i will be monitoring this situation and have updates for you all morning long. marty... back to you. ( marty ) we are also following breaking news from overnight in the east bay. one person is dead after a shooting in east oakland. this is a picture from the scene. it happened in the area of 102nd avenue and international boulevard. one other person was injured... there is no word on that person's condition this morning. the shooter is still on the loose. ( marty ) that shooting on international boulevard was the first of three separate shootngs in oakland since 10:00 last night. just a few hours after that shooting, another person was shot at the intersection of 98th avenue and street. that happened just before 1:00 this morning. here is a picture from that scene. police say that victim is in grave condition. and then another shooting happened just after 1:30 this morning. one person was injured on the 14-hundred block of 89th avenue. there is no word

on that person's condition. no one has been arrested. police have'nt said if the shootings are connected. ( marty ) in the north bay... monte rio beach in sonoma county is now clear after the sheriff's department disarmed a live pipe bomb. the bomb was found underneath the monte rio bridge at the beach along the bohemian highway. monte rio beach is along the lower russian river. the deputies closed the bridge and evacuated the surrounding area. the bomb squad came and deactivated the bomb and the beach was reopened. police are still looking for the person who planted it. ( marty ) another big story we are following... police in san francisco have arrested a 15-year-old boy after a violent robbery sent a man to the hospital. the robbery happened at hallidie plaza at the bart powell street station. police tweeted out this picture of the plaza. the victim was taken to the hospital with head injuries and a dislocated shoulder. the teenager is also charged with 4 other violent robberies that

happened around the plaza in recent weeks. police used surveillance video to track down the ( marty ) new this morning... police in half moon bay have arrested a woman for arson. 39-year-old monica berlin is accused of setting two fires in a field along highway one. the fires were set about a week apart. no buildings were damamged and no- one was injured. berlin was also wanted in san francsico on unrelated charges. ( marty ) in the south bay... police in san jose arrested a man who they say sexually assaulted a 16- year-old boy. it happened on friday afternoon. police say 34-year-old tung vo lured the victim into his van on cunnigham avenue. and then assaulted him. the teenager was able to escape and go for help. vo is a registered sex offender. he is now facing charges of assault and kidnapping. ( marty ) in the east bay... police in berkeley are looking for this man who was caught on camera stealing a package from a porch in berkeley. the homeowner

sent these pictures to us from her surveillance camera. she tells kron 4 that the package contained about 80- dollars worth of items and that it was stolen just minutes after it was delivered. missed seeing kevin manning at the embarcadero who was severely injured in a hit and run crash. on june 27th a driver hit manning at the embarcadero and sansome while he was working with cabrio pedicab for a sixth year. sot: matt montgomery, pedicab cyclist// "shock and sadness...i know kevin, he'sa great guy. it's terrible this happened to him we all hope he's doing okay."a go fund me page has raised 27 thousand dollars for manning's medical expenses since the crash two weeks ago.the executive director of the san francisco bicycle coalition says they've been advocating for protected bike lanes on the embarcadero for years.sot: brian weidenmeier, sf bicycle coalition// "the city has supposedly has been planning to install them for over five years according to the city's original timeline final designs for a protected bike lane in the embarcadero were supposed to be approved over a year ago and the city and the port continue to delay."san francisco's vision zero research shows the embarcadero to be a high risk area for cyclist injuries. firefighters are making progress on the massive wildfire burning in yolo county. that fire is now more than 88-thousand acres but it is now 55-percent contained. no one has been injured. and so far 10 structures have been destroyed and there are still some mandatory evacuations in place. firefighters are looking at full containment by thursday. ( marty ) a meeting was held for those living in the small yolo county town of guinda. they were able to get an official update from cal fire. kron 4's hermela aregawi was there and talked to those affected it's been a week since the yolo county fire started burning...scorching more than 88-thousand acres to date.the blaze has destroyed ten stuctures and damaged two others.saturday.. residents in the small town of guinda came together to get updates from cal fire and share their

experiences.bradley harger/guinda traumatic, very traumatic. the property up here even though they call it ugly, this is my little piece of paradise, now it's been toasted. i lost land. no structures but i lost land, the grass, the trees, the things when i go outside and look, the beauty.christine hildebrand evacuated twice in four days.a challenging move with an elderly mother and fifteen horses on the land. christine hildebrand/guinda what a roller coaster. it was good to hear from offices of emergency services. we actually called them at one point because we weren't really clear about whether we were supposed to evacuate or not on the second time. officials say the fire is a particularly aggressive one. it is chewing through tens of thousands of gallons of retardant.. which isn't buying them as much time as it would with an average firemike smith/cal fire spokesperson this fire is uncharacteristic in that normal supression efforts are showing very little effect. what we would normally do this time of year is go direct on the fire lines, place firefighters right on the edge of the fire and they would be able to supress it with small hand

east bay cities need your help identifying a man caught on camera exposing himself multiple times and even breaking into homes. kron 4's sara stinson has the details. (reporter intro: "fremont and pleasanton police are working together to identify a man they believe is involved in 5 different incidences of a man exposing himself to people in both cities. the first one happened three weeks ago here on deuville part court and the most recent one was in pleasanton on june 5th. "it happened around ten thursday night when a person who lives here on whispering oaks way in pleasanton captured this man naked in front of their home on a security camera.neighbors say they are terrified this man was in their neighborhood. ("i'm creeped out, i don't feel safe.")("shocked, i'm shocked this would happen in this neighborhood.")and this might not be this man's first time exposing himself at

someones home.fremont police department have connected this suspect to four similar incidents in fremont.the key piece of evidence is the suspect's distinct tattoo which clearly shows a feather hanging from a ring around the suspect's right bicep. other victims described this tattoo including the one involved in the incident on june 21st in fremont.police created this sketch from the description from the victim. it happened on andromeda circle...where the suspect broke into a home and exposed himself to an 18-year-old woman who was sleeping at the time. police say he could be driving a four door crossover vehicle. ("if you see anyone with the tattoo in the photo we just showed you, you're asked to call either police department. they're working hard to get the suspect off the street so this doesn't happen again. in fremont, sara stinson, kron 4 news.") ( marty ) we have a scam alert for you this morning. disneyland wants you to know they are ánot giving away free tickets despite an ad circulating on social media. the false offer looks like a coupon and says disneyland is giving away five thousand tickets celebrating 110 years of service... it will ask you to fill out a short survey and at the end say congratulations you have won two free tickets. a disneyland resort spokeswoman said the offer is false and that disneyland is 63 years old, not 110. ( marty ) in entertainment news... actress keri russell is in talks to join the cast of the next 'star wars' movie. j-j abrams is writing and directing... he and russell worked together on the show "felicity" and also on the movie "mission: impossible 3." . no word yet on whether russell will be on the side of good or evil... but the role does call for action-heavy fight

( marty ) in the north bay... monte rio beach in sonoma county is now clear after the sheriff's department disarmed a live pipe bomb. the bomb was found underneath the monte rio bridge at the beach along the bohemian highway. monte rio beach is along the lower russian river. the deputies closed the bridge and evacuated the surrounding area. the bomb squad came and deactivated the bomb and the beach was reopened. police are still looking for the person who planted it. ( marty ) another big story we are following... police in san francisco have arrested a 15-year-old boy after a violent robbery sent a man to the hospital. the robbery happened at hallidie plaza at the bart powell street station. police tweeted out this picture of the plaza. the victim was

( marty ) new this morning... police in half moon bay have arrested a woman for arson. 39-year-old monica berlin is accused of setting two fires in a field along highway one. the fires were set about a week apart. no buildings were damamged and no- one was injured. berlin was also wanted in san francsico on unrelated charges. ( marty ) in the south bay... police in san jose arrested a man who they say sexually assaulted a 16- year-old boy. it happened on friday afternoon. police say 34-year-old tung vo lured the victim into his van on cunnigham avenue. and then assaulted him. the teenager was able to escape and go for help. vo is a registered sex offender. he is now facing charges of assault and kidnapping. firefighters are making progress on the massive wildfire burning in yolo county. that fire is now more than 88-thousand acres but it is now 55-percent contained. no one has been injured. and so far 10 structures have been destroyed and there are still some mandatory evacuations in place. firefighters are looking at full containment by thursday. following is out of thailand. we have good news for you this morning. divers have rescued at least four boys after they were trapped in a flooded cave for more than 2 weeks. this is brand new video of one of those boys being transported to the hospital by helicopter. 8 more boys and their coach are still trapped in that cave. as the rescue effort continues. good morning and thanks for joining us on kron 4 news weekend. i'm marty gonzalez. ( marty ) we want to get right to this story that the world has been watching for the past several days. kron 4's lidia pantazes has been following the changing developments. ( lydia ) marty... thai officials say the rescue is going better than expected. thai officials confirm 4 boys have been rescued but there are news reports that 6 members of that boy's soccer team are out of that cave.

the operation to remove those kids and their coach began around 8 last night. ambulances have been seen leaving the cave and heading to the hospital. right now it is unclear who was inside those ambulances. 3 foreign and five thai divers were taking part in the rescue and two divers will accompany each boy as they're gradually extracted. the thai official heading the rescue effort says the healthiest boys were taken out first. that official also said the next phase of the operation will start in 10-20 hours. the boys and their coach became stranded when they went exploring in the cave after a practice game june 23. monsoon flooding cut off their escape and prevented rescuers from finding them for almost 10 days. when they were found they were malnourished and weak. over the last few days there have been growing concerns that more storms in the forecast could leave the boys trapped until october. oxygen levels in the cave were also begining to drop making the rescue more urgent. it takes 11 hours for

(reporter intro: "fremont and pleasanton police are working together to identify a man they believe is involved in 5 different incidences of a man exposing himself to people in both cities. the first one happened three weeks ago here on deuville part court and the most recent one was in pleasanton on june 5th. "it happened around ten thursday night when a person who lives here on whispering oaks way in pleasanton captured this man naked in front of their home on a security camera.neighbors say they are terrified this

bay... monte rio beach in sonoma county is now clear after the sheriff's department disarmed a live pipe bomb. the bomb was found underneath the monte rio bridge at the beach along the bohemian highway. monte rio beach is along the lower russian river. the deputies closed the bridge and evacuated the surrounding area. the bomb squad came and deactivated the bomb and the beach was reopened. police are still looking for the person who planted it. ( marty ) another big story we are following... police in san francisco have arrested a 15-year-old boy after a violent robbery sent a man to the hospital. the robbery happened at hallidie plaza at the bart powell street station. police tweeted out this picture of the plaza. the victim was taken to the hospital with head injuries and a dislocated shoulder. the teenager is also charged with 4 other violent robberies that happened around the plaza in recent weeks. police used surveillance video to track down the teen. bay have arrested a woman for arson. 39-year-old monica berlin is accused of setting two fires in a field along highway one. the fires were set about a week apart. no buildings were damamged and no- one was injured. berlin was also wanted in san francsico on unrelated charges. ( marty ) in the south bay... police in san jose arrested a man who they say sexually assaulted a 16- year-old boy. it happened on friday afternoon. police say 34-year-old tung vo lured the victim into his van on cunnigham avenue. and then assaulted him. the teenager was able to escape and go for help. vo is a registered sex offender. he is now facing charges of assault and kidnapping. ( marty ) in the east bay... police in berkeley are looking for this man who was caught on camera stealing a package from a porch in berkeley. the homeowner sent these pictures to us from her surveillance camera. she tells kron 4 that the package contained about 80- dollars worth of items and that it was stolen just minutes after it was delivered.

are making progress on the massive wildfire burning in yolo county. new numbers just into the newsroom. the fire grew by just 100 acres over night and is now at 57% containment. no one has been injured. and so far 10 structures have been destroyed and there are still some mandatory evacuations in place. firefighters are looking at full containment by ( marty ) a meeting was held for those living in the small yolo county town of guinda. they were able to get an official update from cal fire. kron 4's hermela aregawi was there and talked to those affected by the fire. it's been a week since the yolo county

( marty ) that breaking news we are following is out of thailand. we have good news for you this morning. divers have rescued at least four boys after they were trapped in a flooded cave for more than 2 weeks. this is brand new video of one of those boys being transported to the hospital by helicopter. 8 more boys and their coach are still trapped in that cave. as the rescue effort continues. good

( marty ) we want to get right to this story that the world has been watching for the past several days. kron 4's lidia pantazes has been following the changing developments. ( lydia ) marty... thai officials say the rescue is going better than expected. thai officials confirm 4 boys have been rescued but there are news reports that 6 members of that boy's soccer team are out of that cave. the operation to remove those kids and their coach began around 8 last night. ambulances have been seen leaving the cave and heading to the hospital. right now it is unclear who was inside those ambulances. 13 foreign and five thai divers were taking part in the rescue and two divers will accompany each boy as they're gradually extracted. the thai official heading the rescue effort says the healthiest boys were taken out first. that official also said the next phase of the operation will start in 10-20 hours. the boys and their coach became stranded when they went exploring in the cave after a practice game june 23. monsoon

flooding cut off their escape and prevented rescuers from finding them for almost 10 days. when they were found they were malnourished and weak. over the last few days there have been growing concerns that more storms in the forecast could leave the boys trapped until october. oxygen levels in the cave were also begining to drop making the rescue more urgent. it takes 11 hours for rescuers to get from the entrance of the cave to the boys and back. they say it could take a couple days to finish the rescue. the condition of the boys who have been rescued is unknown. marty... back to you.
