left in the cave. over the last three days... 11 members of that boys soccer team have been rescued. thai officials are optimistic that they will be able to have every body rescued by the end of the day. the 12 boys and their coach were trapped by monsoon flood waters back on june 23rd. it was 9 days before rescue crews were able to find them... the rescue efforts are happening right now to free the last boy and his coach. we will keep you updated on those rescue operations all morning long... right here on the kron 4 morning news. ( robin )breaking from overnight.a san francisco firefighter is injured fighting a large fire in the north beach neigborhood. the fire broke out just before midnight at a three story building that has the ..fiddler's green bar... and restaurant as well as apartments in it. this is a picture from the scene this morning. officials say the firefighter suffered minor injuries and is expected to recover. four adults in the building have been displaced.

( robin ) another big story we are following this morning... new details about the mother accused of leaving her six- year old boy... at a busy train station in los angeles earlier this month.. she has been charged with child endangerment... and it turns out, she is from the bay area. kron 4's j-r stone has the details. 31ear old dava webster, of walnut creek, arrested last week in los angeles after leaving her 6-year-old son at union station, the main transit center. she left the boy alone at 7 pm on the fourth of july.sotneighbors say webster's son is autistic and taking care of him had been a struggle for her. webster returned to the area where she left her son a day later around 2 in the afternoon. that's when she was arrested. those who know webster say that several months ago she lived here in walnut cree but was evicted. in fact webster told them she is suffering from cancer...something they have

police in palo alto are looking for multiple people who tried to rob two different victims just minutes apart. the first attempted robbery happened on newell road. in that case a man was able to escape after another man tried to force him to hand over his wallet. about 10 minutes later... there was antother attempted robbery on cowper street. in both cases the attacker acted like he had a gun. neither victim was injured. police are investigating wether the two incidents are connected. ( robin ) in the east bay... police in oakland have released two new videos they hope will help them solve two unsolved homicides. one video address the 2016 shooting death of brian bole. that is the video on the lrft.. the f-b-i and the oakland crime stoppers are offering 35-thousand dollars for information on that shooting. the other video addresses the 2013 shooting death of aya na-ka-no. 125- thousand dollars is being offered for infomration in

that case. police are hoping that these two videos will help raise awareness of the cases and elicit tips from the public. ( robin ) two women are behind bars this morning... on suspicion of stabbing three men in morgan hill. the incident happened on monterey road once at the scene officers found a man suffering from a stab wound. and after searching the area... they found two more men who had been stabbed. the three were taken to the hospital... all with non life threatning injuries. officers also found two women who were hiding from police on monterey road. and after searching the women... they found a bloody knife. they were booked into santa clara county jail. ( robin ) another big story we are following this morning... hate crimes across the state are on the rise. kron 4's vicki liviakis has the latest on this new crime report. (vicki) yeah, you could say it's a sign of the times... california's attorney general says reported hate crimes jumped more than 17 percent in the state last year, though they remain relatively rare. the department of justice released its annual hate crimes report today, the first since president trump took office in january 2017. the doj defining hate crimes as those targeting victims because of

their race or ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, gender, or a disability. nearly 1,100 were reported in 2017 compared to 900 in 2016. the report was one of five crime reports released. the doj also reported that police killed 172 civilians last year compared to 157 in 2016. another report showed california's violent crime rate increased 1.5 percent last year compared to 2016... while property crime dropped 2 percent. and the arrests for rape remain the same year to year. from the newsroom, vicki liviakis kron 4 news, back to you. ( robin ) today marks the deadline imposed by a federal judge... requiring the trump administration to reunite more than 100 immigrant children with their parents. ...but the administration won't be able to meet the deadline. andrew spencer has the latest. a list provided by the

department of justice identifies 102 immigrant children under age five, who were separated from adults at the border.as dozens of kids reunite with their families, dozens more are still being detained.the a-c-l-u, which filed a lawsuit to have all immigrant children reunited with their families, does not expect the trump administration to face any consequences.lee gelernt, aclu attorney: "i think we're a long way from the court saying, 'i'm going to sanction the government.' i think now he feels like the government is working good-faith finally working to get this reunification done. we're hoping that's right and it moves forward."in a court hearing yesterday, the federal judge overseeing the case said he was very encouraged. "this is real progress," he said, "and i'm optimistic that many of these families will be reunited tomorrow, and then we'll have a very clear understanding as to who has not been reunited, why not, and what time-frame will be in place."there are several reasons 46 other kids are not yet being reunited with parents. for some of them, it's because their parents aren't in ice custody anymore. for nine of those kids, their parents were already released. for another nine, their parents were already deported.

they don't know where they can legally park... one group has already been evicted from a parking lot in the berkeley marina. the community moved back to the location after the city forced them to leave here a couple of months ago. the city of berkeley says the group is running the risk of being cited or towed... similar problems they faced while being parked ... at the now closed -- h-s lordships resturant. ( robin ) a courtroom battle between a man dying of cancer ...and...... agro- chemical giant 'monsanto' .... is underway in san francisco... the vallejo man is suing because he blames his disease on a chemical in the weed killer - "round-up." kron4's maureen kelly has the latest. mr. johnson is gonna die 46 year old dwayne lee johnson sat in the courtroom as his lawyer told a jury the grim facts of his diagnosis.and having to say this in front of

couple says two jet-blue flight attendants saved their dog's life. michele burt and her husband were traveling with their 3 dogs... from orlando back to massachusetts. during the flight... their 3-year-old french bulldog "darcy" started showing signs of distress. burt says darcy's tongue and gums were blue and she was panting frantically. that's when the flight attendants used ice bags to cool the dog down... and they gave her an oxygen mask. burt says the pup rebounded in just a few minutes and was fine for the rest of the flight. she wrote a letter to jet blue thanking the company for helping keep darcy healthy. breaking from overnight.a san francisco firefighter is injured fighting a large fire in the north beach. the fire broke out just before midnight at a three story building that has the fiddler's green bar and restaurant as well as apartments in it. officials say the firefighter suffered minor injuries and is expected to recover. four adults in the building have been displaced.

san jose convention center. they'll be protesting google's plans to build a new 8 million sq ft mega-campus in san jose. this isn't the first time the group has protested the construction of the mega campus.organizers of the protest say the new development will lead to increases in evictions, homelessness and displacement. they are asking google to negotiate an agreement with the community to protect residents from the impacts of tech gentrification when the tech giant comes to san jose. some of the demands include: -allocating 25% of units in any residential developments for the lowest-income residents.-supporting legal defense for tenants facing eviction.-giving local residents first consideration for jobs.reporting live in san jose, lydia pantazes kron 4 news. who tried to rob two different victims just minutes apart. the first attempted robbery happened on newell road. in that case a man was able to escape after another man tried to force him to hand over his wallet. about 10 minutes later... there was antother attempted robbery on cowper street. in both cases the attacker acted like he had a gun. neither victim was injured. police are investigating whether the two incidents are connected. ( darya ) in the east bay... policin oakland have released two new videos they hope will help them solve two unsolved homicides. one video address the 2016 shooting death of brian bole. death of brian bole. that is the video on the left. the f-b-i and the oakland crime stoppers are offering 35- thousand dollars for information on that shooting. the other video addresses the 2013 shooting death of aya na-ka-no. 125-thousand dollars is being offered for

infomration in that case. police are hoping that these two videos will help raise awareness of the cases and elicit tips from the public. ( terisa ) a walnut creek mother is now facing child endangerment charges. police say she abandoned her child in los angeles. dava webster is accused of leaving her 6-year old son at a train station last week. a security guard saw the boy by himself and called police. when webster returned to the station... she was arrested. neighbors in walnut creek say webster struggled to take care of her son... who has autism. ( terisa ) webster told neighbors she was battling cancer. now some are doubting that claim... but they are hopeful that she'll get help. ( terisa ) people in san francisco will now be able to

vote on a measure that could help solve the city's homeless problem. supporters of the measure submitted the necessary signatures yesterday to get it on the ballot. the measure would put a point-5 percent receipts tax on businesses with the hope of raising 50-million dollars per year. that money would go towards providing the homeless with permanent housing and mental health care. ( darya ) in the east bay... the homelessness crisis is becoming a challenge for people living in r-v's. they don't know where they can legally park... one group has already been evicted from a parking lot in the berkeley marina. the community moved back to the location after the city forced them to leave a couple of months ago. the city of berkeley says the group is running the risk of being cited or towed... similar problems they faced while being parked at the now closed "h-s lordships" resturant.

( terisa ) the county fire -- burning in yolo and napa counties -- is now 75-percent contained. the fire has burned more than 90-thousand acres and destroyed 20 buildings. mandatory evacuations along highway 16 have been lifted. ( darya ) police are searching for a woman who attacked a 91-year-old man in south los angeles. rodolfo rodriguez...a mexican national who was visiting family.. says he was attacked as he was taking a walk last week. rodriguez says a woman walking with a young girl... threw a concrete block at him... hitting him in the head. a witness says the woman saw her recording and threw a brick at her too. rodriguez suffered a broken jaw, two broken ribs and broken cheek-bones. police say there were possibly three to four other people who were involved in the attack.

"...i took the day off because i knew i would be here for a long time.." "...it's ridiculous, i mean look at all those empty windows, there aren't enough people working..."lines and wait times have been getting longer, twice as long at some offices, since the dmv began issuing the relatively new which require more staff time

( darya ) environmental advocate erin brockovich is back in the bay area... battling p-g-and-e. this time it's over legislation that she says will let the company off the hook ... for its role in the north bay firestorm. opponents of the legislation say if p-g-and-e is held responsible they should pay. they also take issue that measure is being made behind closed doors without input from firestorm survivors. ( terisa ) a santa rosa winery is slowly getting back on its feet... after october's wildfire destroyed its tasting room and much of its property. this is the paradise ridge winery's sculpture garden. not a single piece of artwork was burned in the fire. the sculpture garden is now open to the public on weekend afternoons. it will remain open through october. that's when the rest of the winery will begin rebuilding.
