serve out the remaining term of mayor ed lee who died suddenly in december of last year. hundreds of people are expected to attend today's inaugural ceremony ... which takes place at san francisco's city hall... beginning at 11 am. we will stream the ceremony live on kron 4 dot com, and the kron 4 mobile app. ( robin )the 1-hundred-and-69 adult ice detainees currently being held at the west county detention facility in richmond... will soon be leaving. as kron 4's dan kerman explains, the contra costa county sheriff announced... he is cancelling the contract with ice... to house detainees in that facility. contra costa county sheriff david livingston has announced he is canceling the contract with ice to house up to 200 immigrant detainees at the west county detention facility in richmond. the sheriff says the decision is in part based on ecnomics and also on recent protests.sot david livingston/contra costa county sheriff 16-26supervisor john gioia called the decision

( robin )in national news... some of the children under the age of five, separated from their families at the border - were reunited by the deadline. but many others are still in detention centers. a federal judge based in california ..has turned down a department of justice request for more time for the reunions. the children who are under the tuesday deadline, are all under age 5 ... and have been held by the government for weeks or months. the judge says, all other minors must be reunited with their parents by july 26th. the next status hearing is scheduled for friday. ( robin )in the south bay... thousands of firefighthers were on the scene tuesday

putting out a large grass fire. that grass fire forced hundreds out of their homes... and killed four horses. kron 4's j-r stone has the story. a stable demolished by fire...this is the area in morgan hill where four horses died when everything was overtaken by flames. at least one horse was able to escape but the others not so lucky. calfire is still monitoring the situation here and also this fire 8 miles away in san jose.sot came out and saw the flames right here and i'm going oh my goodness.the san jose fire happened at the santa teresa county park. dozens of homes were within site of flames as 100 acres burned.sotsotthe san jose fire is at least75 percent contained and the morgan hill fire which destroyed 40 acres and three buildings, as it took the lives of four hourses is now at least 65 percent contained.

( robin )in southern california- more than 2- thousand people were evacuated from griffith observatory in los angeles and the surrounding park because of this wildfire. so far, it has burned about two dozen acres of dry brush but is no longer spreading ... and crews have nearly contained it. water- dropping helicopters are aiding firefighters on the ground. fire officials say, the fire damaged some cars parked in the area... but no one was hurt. ( robin ) san francisco is cracking down on the city's

worst vandals. a grand jury has indicted 7 men. the district attorney accuses them of vandalizing buildings in the city repeatedly. you're looking at some of the graffiti blamed on the group. the city says this crime is hurting small business owners... who find it hard to keep coming up with the cash to clean things up. the average clean up cost is about 33-hundred dollars. authorities say most of the damage is being done by taggers... and ánot by gangs. ( robin ) a 27-year-old bay area woman is dead... after an anniversary trip with her husband to mexico city. tatiana miruntenko (mare-you- tenko) was killed this past saturday by a stray bullet right outside of this taqueria. mexico city authorities say the gunmen were actually aiming for a bar bouncer inside the eatery. the bouncer was hospitalized, and a manhunt is underway right now for the shooters. tatiana and her husband had only been married for one year. police in millbrae have

arrested on person for arson. yesterday police were called to a fire at green hills park. witnesses identifed 38-year-old norma navarro as the person involved in starting the fire. the fire was quickly controlled and put out by firefighters. navarro was booked into the maguire correction facility for a violation of arson. ( robin )authorities believe california's infamous "golden state killer" is responsible for dozens of murders and scores of rapes over a period of ten years. survivors were haunted for decades as the cases went unsolved. then in april, police arrested the man they believe committed the crimes. joseph james deangelo - now 72 - is now facing charges in several slayings. for survivors - the charges are a step toward closure in their decades-long nightmare. reporter ali wolf explains. with every book she

( robin ) a concord man has been sentenced to 4- years in state prison... for a road rage incident and for starting a fire in the east bay last august. 25-year-old alfredo bautista pleaded no contest to arson and assault from the incidents in the grizzly peak area of oakland

and berkeley. he admitted to starting fires in the area using a cigarette lighter. before setting the fire, investigators say bautista followed another car.. rammed into it several times... pointed a guat the other driver, and then took off. bautista has been ordered to pay more than 126-thousand dollars in restitution to cal- fire .... for the costs of fighting the 20-acre fire ... which took 5 -days to fully contain. ( robin )antioch police have arrested a suspect in a double homicide that happened last week. 35 -year old dontay williams has been charged in the shooting death of valinda scott, and her daughter- milan ardoin. last thursday morning, police responded to a home on delta fair boulevard... and found the two victims. at this point, police have not released a possible motive for the shooting, but say they obtained an arrest warrant for williams last friday... and arrested him in oakland. he faces two- counts of murder. ( robin )right now.. police are searching for a missing

oregon woman... who was last reported to be in the bay area. kron 4's charles clifford explains the path 23-year-old angela hernandez was on before disappearing friday morning. last thursday evening, angela hernandez texted her sister that she was going to sleep in her car, a 2011 white jeep patriot, behinthis safeway in half moon bay. the next morning, she texted that she was resuming her drive to southern california. that was the last time her family heard from anglea.sot this is not in angela's character to contact the family angela's sister christina says it's very unusual for her to not stay in contact.sotthe whole way down from oregon she was in contact with our other sisteralthough she was last heard from in half moon bay friday morning, authorities say that on friday evening angela's cell phone pinged a cell tower 37 miles south in davenport. authorities say her phone continued to send

worker is dead this morning... after being found unresponsive in her mail truck. it happened in los angeles... and her family believes the extreme heat could be the cause of her death. the mail carrier had just returned to work from medical leave. friday was her first day back in months due to a broken ankle... it was 115- degrees the day she died. last summer the victims family says she suffered from a heat stroke. the exact cause of her death is still pending. ( terisa ) two fires burn in the south bay including one that killed 4 horses in morgan hill. the other fire forced a family from their home in san jose. this was the scene in morgan hill... the horse's stable was destroyed by the fire. one horse was able to escape. the fire in san jose happened at the santa teresa county park and burned near dozens of homes. that fire burned about 100 acres. ( terisa ) at last update... that fire in san jose was 75% contained. the fire in morgan hill is at 65% containment. ( terisa ) the county fire -- burning in yolo and napa counties -- is now 83 percent

( darya ) a cyclist was killed after being struck by a pickup truck in concord early this morning. the crash was reported after midnight on san miguel road near systron drive. according to concord police the male cyclist was crossing san miguel road when he was struck. the pickup is described as a 1990's-model g- m-c truck.. driven by a man who police said stayed on scene and is men. the district attorney accuses them of vandalizing buildings in the city repeatedly. you're looking at some of the graffiti blamed on the group. the city says this crime is hurting small business owners... who find it hard to keep coming up with the cash to clean things up. the average clean up cost is about 33-hundred dollars. authorities say most of the damage is being done by taggers... and ánot by gangs.

( terisa ) more than 100 ice detainees in contra costa county will soon be leaving. the sheriff is canceling the department's contract with ice. right now... the detainees are being held at the "west county detention facility" in richmond. the sheriff says he based his decision on economics and recent protests. the ice contract generates more than 2- million dollars in revenue... but costs have risen in recent years. county leaders are split on the sheriff's decision. one supervisor called it "historic"... but another fears the decision will create a hardship for local families whose loved ones are detained there. morning... a 27-year-old bay area woman is shot to death... during an anniversary trip to mexico with husband. tatiana miruntenko was killed this past saturday by a stray bullet right outside of this taqueria. mexico city authorities say the gunmen were actually aiming for a bar bouncer inside the eatery. the bouncer was hospitalized... and a manhunt is underway right now for the shooters. miruntenko and her husband had only been married for one year. ( darya ) antioch police have arrested a man accused of killing a mother and daughter. dontay williams will be in court today. he's been charged in the shooting death of valinda scott and her daughter milan ardoin. last thursday morning... police responded to a home on delta fair boulevard in antioch... and found the two victims. at this point...

( darya ) a concord man will spend 4 years in prison... for a case of road rage that led to a fire. alfredo bautista pleaded no contest to arson and assault... for the incidents in the grizzly peak area of oakland and berkeley. he admitted to starting fire in the area using a cigarette lighter. before setting the fire ... investigators say bautista followed another car... rammed into it several times... pointed a gun at the other driver and then took off. bautista has been ordered to pay more than 126-thousand dollars in restitution to cal- fire .... for the costs of fighting the 20-acre fire. ( terisa ) the sonoma county board of supervisors has decided against putting a half-cent housing recovery sales tax on the november ballot. the tax measure was intended to motivate new housing projects. the unincorporated area lost more then 22-hundred homes in the october wildfires. the measure was estimated to generate 7.3 million

by the fire. one horse was able to escape. the fire in san jose happened at the santa teresa county park and burned near dozens of homes. that fire burned about 100 acres. ( terisa ) the county fire -- burning in yolo and napa counties -- is now 83 percent contained. the fire has burned just over 90-thousand acres. it's also destroyed 20 buildings. all evacuation orders have been lifted... and p-g-and-e has restored power to all affected areas. crash last month has died from his injuries. 66-year-old kevin manning died monday night at san francisco general hospital. the crash happened on june 27th.. when he was traveling on the embarcadero near sansome street. police are still looking for the driver of this car... a gold or champagne colored honda civic four-door sedan. meanwhile... the san francisco bicycle coalition is urging city officials to make immediate improvements to traffic hot spots. they want the city to construct fully protected bike lanes along the embarcadero by 2022. this morning. the crash was reported after midnight on san miguel road near systron drive. police say the man was crossing san miguel road when he was hit. the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police. police say drugs and alcohol do ánot appear to be factors in this crash. ( darya ) san francisco is cracking down on the city's worst vandals. a grand jury has indicted 7 men. the district attorney accuses them of vandalizing buildings in the city repeatedly. you're looking at some of the graffiti blamed on the group. the city says this crime is hurting small business owners... who find it hard to keep coming up with the cash to clean things up. the average clean up cost is about 33-hundred dollars. authorities say most of the damage is being done by taggers... and ánot by gangs. ( darya )( darya ) a fire in east oakland displaces six people. fire crews say a 2 story building caught fire yesterday morning. one firefighter suffered minor burns to his back as he made his way up the building. no one else was hurt. ( darya ) a judge says the evidence seems "weak"... but he ruled experts can still claim that "round-up" weed killer causes cancer at trial. the ruling also allows hundreds of lawsuits against roundup's manufacturer -- monsanto -- to move forward. the lawsuits by cancer patients and their families claim monsanto knew about roundup's risk ... but failed to warn them. many government regulators have rejected a link between an agro-chemical in roundup and cancer. monsanto has denied such a connection. ( terisa ) the sonoma county board of supervisors has decided against putting a half-cent housing recovery sales tax on the november ballot. the tax measure was intended to motivate new housing projects. the unincorporated area lost more then 22-hundred homes in the october wildfires. the measure was estimated to generate 7.3 million annually... but results from a june poll showed it would not get the two-thirds approval to pass. the board of supervisors also declared a homeless state of emergency in sonoma county.. if approved by governor jerry brown it could provide 12 million dollars in one time funding. ( terisa ) the sonoma county board of supervisors also took steps to put an eighth-cent transactions and use tax on the novemer ballt. the tax would pay for deferred maintenance and improvements on county and city parks. the proposed tax would generate 11.5 million dollars annually for ten years. in august the board will consider adopting

( terisa ) angeles says she was harassed on the road... followed home by an angry driver who threw a rock at her car. the whole thing was caught on the woman's dashcam. lynne ferguson says she was on her way home from a shopping trip... when she somehow upset the driver behind her. that's when the driver sped up... and got in front of her. he then swerved and stopd in the middle of the road. ferguson turned on to another street... but the angry driver got back in his
