( sara )berkley police say the shooting happened at the highway 80 gilman street exit early this morning.they only found out about it because the three victims self transported themselves to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds. police went to the scene around 4:30 this morning and shut down the highway from university avenue exit to gilman street exit to investigate and gather evidence.just after that a four car crash happened right after the university avenue exit just about a half mile away from the shooting scene. one person was transported to the hospital with injuries from the crash. the crash has shut down three lanes here on highway 80...police say they

a week ago... has been found alive. she's being treated at an area hospital this morning. angela hernandez was found on a remote beach off of highway- one in monterey county... near big sur. these photos are from the monterey county sheriff's office. hernandez was headed to southern california for a wedding... but never made it. her family says, they last heard from angela after she spent the night in her car in half moon bay. authorities say, they got a cell phone ping near davenport. then, a white 20-11 jeep patriot, matching the description of angela's car, was seen on surveillance video at the carmel- highlands station and general store.... along highway- one in monterey county. the monterey county sheriff's office made the announcement last night, that angela's vehicle was found down a cliff. this morning isabel hernandez told kron 4 that she can't wait to see her

( marty ) police are looking for two men...in connection with an attempted homicide on the peninsula. it happened on chapman avenue in san bruno. police say these two men... 35-year-old carlos manuel cienfuegos and 35-year-old richard butler approached a man and got into an argument. officers say one of the suspects then pulled out a gun, and fired one round at the victim. fortunately the victim was not injured. authorities say the suspects fled the scene in this red...2008 ford f-350. police with a search warrant checked out a home in the area. they did not find the suspects...but did seize eight firearms that they found inside. police are

( marty ) state controller betty yee is hurt in a car crash. but authorities say she will be okay. the c-h-p says yee and her husband were in an unmarked car being driven by a c-h-p officer. they were stopped in traffic when they were rear-ended yesterday afternoon in the posey tube. c-h-p says the driver who hit them is hospitalized with severe injuries and is suspected of driving under the influence of marijuana. this morning... seven chickens in contra costa county have tested positive for the west nile virus. the chickens were found near the town of knightsen. people are urged to be pro-active by eliminating sources of water where mosquitoes can breed .. and protecting themselves from mosquito bites. mild cases of the west nile virus can cause fever, nausea, vomiting and headaches. in extreme cases... west nile can lead to neurological ( marty ) as temperatures rise... algae blooms may be growing in lakes...rivers... and beaches across the bay. according to the c-d-c... these potentially harmful algae blooms are increasing in number and severity... because of climate change, storm water runoff, and wastewater overflows. the algae can cause rashes...respiratory problems and if ingested, can cause liver and kidney damage. even if you stay out of the water, it is possible to breathe in the poison. health experts say pets are especially at risk.(sot)

( marty ) back to our big story this morning on the arrest of a suspected serial rapist. san francisco police say orlando lazo preyed on women... by posing as a rideshare driver. kron-4's hermela aregawi reports on the steps you can take to protect (hermela aregawi)orlando lazo wasn't working for a ride share company when police say he targeted his victims.but because he was picking them up from bars and nightclubs presumably at busy times.. when there was likely other ride shares picking up.. they say he was able to belend in. orlando lazo took advantage of a growing trend.police say he posed as a ride share driver and sexually assaulted four unsuspecting passengers.the

victims likely thought they were getting into the car that they requested. but that was not the case.we spoke with ride share drivers who explained to us the protocol they follow to make sure they and their customers are safe. aaron pineda/lyft driverwhat normally driveraaron pineda/lyft aaron pineda/lyft driverwhat normally happens is i'll get a ping, i'll pull up somewhere and if there's an event, there's a lot of people, looking for their lyft driver. so when a passenger gets in the car, i always ask them, hey, are you this person just to make sure i got the right person before i drive off. every now and then, the wrong person will get in the car because there's so many people that use lyft here in san francisco.a recent city survey found about 40-percent of san francsico residents have used lyft, uber or another ride-sharing app at some point. and according to the city, about 45-thousand lyft and uber drivers operate in san francisco. that's what helped orlando lazo blend in when police say he picked up

this morning... seven chickens in contra costa county have tested positive for the west nile virus. the chickens were found near the town of knightsen. people are urged to be pro-active by eliminating sources of water where mosquitoes can breed .. and protecting themselves from mosquito bites. mild cases of the west nile virus can cause fever, nausea, vomiting and headaches. in extreme cases... west nile can lead to neurological illnesses. have been lifted in butte county... where firefighters are battling a 700 acre wildfire. the stoney fire -- burning near chico -- is now 40-percent contained. the fire jumped a containment line friday. but crews were able to get the line back under control. no word yet on what started this fire. no reports of any injuries.
