investigating a multi vechicle crash this morning in walnut creek.it happened around 3-30 this morning on interstate 6- 80... just south of north main street. at least 2 cars were involved in the crash... but according to a witness... atleast 10 vehicles were involved. one person was sent to a nearby hosptial. no word on that persons current condition. ( marty )also in the east bay, two people have been killed and one injured following a single-vehicle crash in alameda county. it happened on redwood road near the intersection of marciel road saturday night. thats near the upper san leandro reservior. the injured person was transported to a nearby hospital... no word on their condition this morning, nor the cause of the accident.. ( marty )the mother of two girls who were killed when the car she was driving plunged into a river, has reached a tentative plea agreement with prosecutors. 27-year-old alejandra hernandez pleaded no contest last month to two

counts of felony gross vehicular manslaughter. a sonoma county superior court judge will review the terms of the agreement next month, and issue a sentence. hernandez's two daughters drowned in august of 20-16 - after her car crashed into the petaluma river. authorities say she had meth and marijuana in her system at the time. ( marty )in the north bay, police are searching for a man, accused of robbing two tourists at a convenience store. it happened thursday at val's liquors on third street in napa. a suspect waving a semi-auto handgun... entered the store and confronted the tourists. the gunman took their digital camera and selfie stick. he then pointed the gun at a store employee...and demanded his cell phone. the suspect ran off before police arrived. ( marty )a deadly fire is ravaging parts of the forest this morning near yosemite-- the ferguson fire is burning in mariposa county. so far it's charred one-thousand acres and is just 5-percent contained. no word on what

caused the fire. ( marty )while trying to get a handle on the fire, the calfire fire team lost one of their own. cal fire says, braden varney was cutting a "fire break" with his bulldozer ... to prevent the fire from spreading when he was killed. ( marty ) the chief also says, varney was with calfire for almost 10 years. his father, who was also a cal-fire bulldozer operator, and just died of cancer. varney is survived by his mom, his wife , and two children aged 3 and 5 years old. he was 36 years old.

( marty ) and we have an update on the yolo county fire. that fire is now 100- percent contained. the fire started two weeks ago. cal fire says it burned just over 90-thousand acres. no one was injured, but 20 buildings were destroyed while three others were damaged. the cause of the fire was traced back to an improperly installed electric livestock fence in woodland. ( marty ) viral video in san francisco shows a woman asking a street vendor about having a permit. people online reacted calling the woman racist and labeling her "permit betty." kron-4's justine waldman spoke with the woman in the video to get her side. nats rene folena says she lost her job, by doing what she is suppose to do.. trying to help street vendors. nats? until thursday, she worked in out-reach with streetplus, a community group that contracts with yuerba

one of their own.it was around 10 saturday morning.. shortly after firefighters finished putting out a fire in this home.a woman who was rescued out of the window was sitting on this curb with a pitbull on a leash. the battalion chief was walking over to ask her questions about the fire.alan evans /division chief, alameda countyand as he approached, he was making sure that the job was subdued and it was okay to approach. she said yes. she started talking to as part of investigation to ask questions. and he was two to three feet away from the gal. for whatever reason, the dog jumped up and attacked out battalion chiefjohn whiting suffered major injuries to his face. and is being treated at stanford hospital.around 9:30 saturday morning.. fireifighters received a report about a house fire here on the 16-thousand block of maubert avenue... whiting and several others arrived to find multiple people in the home and twenty pitbulls. two of them died in the fire but they were able to save the rest. including this one.. that

woman's boat crashed in the delta. this is video from thursday afternoon. you can see the boat up on the rock levee near the franks tract state recreational area. officials say the woman became pinned inside the boat after the crash. a helicopter was dispatched to the scene just before one o'clock. the woman was then airlifted to an area hospital for treatment. her condition is unknown. no one else was injured. ( marty )also in the eastbay, a small dog is recovering this morning after it was attacked by a coyote. it happened in the owners backyard in alamo. kron4's michelle kingston has the story. ( marty ) in national news -- the trump administration now says it has a plan to reunite migrant children and their parents separated at the southern border. still, more than 25-hundred kids are being held at various centers around the country. ( marty ) in the bay area -- the contra costa county sheriff announced this week that his office is cancelling it's contract with ice to house detainees at the county jail in richmond. immigration advocates are happy about the news. but they now fear that detainees will be transferred further away from their families. kron four's philippe djegal reports from richmond -- where families called for the release of their loved ones. (philippe)nats- "it's gone on far too long." anxious immigrant families cautiously await the fate of their loved ones held at the west county detention facility in richmond.

tony bravo/advocate- "we want to free them all." fernando cabrillo stayed here for six months on an immigration hold until april when he says he won his case in court.fernando cabrillo/former detainee- "it was the worst six months of my life." he's been reunited with his wife and three kids. but there are still more than 160 undocumented adults being held at the facility... and the announcement this week by the contra costa county sheriff that his office has cancelled it contract with immigration and customs enforcement to house detainees here further complicates the matter. now families of detainees are wondering what's next. are their loved ones staying here going to be released? are the going to be transferred somewhere out of state? it's all up in the air.deborah lee/reverend- "and, some were already transferred this week." i-c-e has 120-days from tuesday until the contract is formally terminated. the closest ice detention facility is about 110-miles northeast of richmond in marysville california. anna tutckaia's (toot-sky-uh) husand alexey has been here for ten months. she says moving him elsewhere could cripple their family.anna

( marty )a popular beach in santa cruz ... is currently under lock and key. if you'd like to use the beach... you'd have to pay a pretty hefty fee. reporter phil gomez has more. the coastal commission demanded that the neighborhood group start the permit process from scratch but the district fought back by withdrawing their participation in today's hearing. mark massara/attorney: "coastal staff turned to the notion to try invalidate 35 years of existing permits regarding management and infrastructure of the park " pat veesart/enforcement supervisor northern california district: "what happens now, is that everything that's out there remains unpermitted and we're not in the process to resolve it at this."the focus of this argument----a nine foot high fence, locked gate, and an annual fee of $100 for a keycard keeping the public from enjoying the beach. however, that fee goes toward the maintenance of the park it's been that way since the 1940's so far the district has made compromises including keeping the entrance open free to public access through the

( marty ) microsoft is asking the government to regulate facial recognition technology. in a blog post, microsoft president brad smith says regulation is necessary due to what he calls the technology's "potential for abuse". smith called on lawmakers to regulate the proper use of facial recognition technology. supporters say such technology improves safety for customers

after firefighters finished putting out a fire in this home.a woman who was rescued out of the window was sitting on this curb with a pitbull on a leash. the battalion chief was walking over to ask her questions about the fire.alan evans /division chief, alameda countyand as he approached, he was making sure that the job was subdued and it was okay to approach. she said yes. she started talking to as part of investigation to ask questions. and he was two to three feet away from the gal. for whatever reason, the dog jumped up and attacked out battalion chiefjohn whiting suffered major injuries to his face. and is being treated at stanford hospital.around 9:30 saturday morning.. fireifighters received a report about a house fire here on the 16-thousand block of maubert avenue... whiting and several others arrived to find multiple people in the home and twenty pitbulls. two of them died in the fire but they were able to save the rest. including this one.. that firefighters describe as male dominant.. which means he is the pack leader and the defender. he is the one they say.. turned on battalion chief john whiting.alan evans /division chief, alameda county you know going to talk to somebody and somebody had a dog, the dog was on a leash. we secured it. we make sure. we ask questions. you make sure it looks like the dog was on a leash. she just wasnt

after firefighters finished putting out a fire in this home.a woman who was rescued out of the window was sitting on this curb with a pitbull on a leash. the battalion chief was walking over to ask her questions about the fire.alan evans /division chief, alameda countyand as he approached, he was making sure that the job was subdued and it was okay to approach. she said yes. she started talking to as part of investigation to ask questions. and he was two to three feet away from the gal. for whatever reason, the dog jumped up and attacked out battalion chiefjohn whiting suffered major injuries to his face. and is being treated at stanford hospital.around 9:30 saturday morning.. fireifighters received a report about a house fire here on the 16-thousand block of maubert avenue... whiting and several others arrived to find multiple people in the home and twenty pitbulls. two of them died in the fire but they were able to save the rest. including this one.. that firefighters describe as male

woman's boat crashed in the delta. this is video from thursday afternoon. you can see the boat up on the rock levee near the franks tract state recreational area. officials say the woman became pinned inside the boat after the crash. a helicopter was dispatched to the scene just before one o'clock. the woman was then airlifted to an area hospital for treatment. her condition is unknown. no one else was injured. ( marty ) police are investigating a deadly shooting in salinas. it happened friday in chinatown... just after five p-m. officers found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at bridge street and east lake street. the man died at the scene. police still don't know the motive of the shooting. ( marty ) police in emeryville arrested a man for having a fake gun. a officer pulled over 48 year old byan black, who was driving a car without a license plate friday night. during a probation search of his car, the officer found a fake firearm that was concealed in black's bag. the fake gun did not have the required orange tip attached. black was arrested for that and a probation violation.
