( marty )we have new information on that duck boat tragedy in missouri. nine members of one family lost their lives when the duck boat capsized in rough waters at a lake near branson, missouri. in all, 17 people were killed in the accident. all of the victims have been identified and survivors are describing the horrific events. reporter camila bernal has the very latest from branson. tia coleman / duck boat accident victim: i lost control. i didn't have anybody with me, i couldn't see anybody and i know it wasn't but it felt like i struggled for at least an hour.we are learning more about the final moments of the "ride the ducks" amphibious tour boat

the incident, which happened around 7 p.m. local time thursday when a massive storm hit the area, spawning 60 mile per hour wind gusts and strong waves.earl weener / ntsb board member: we're working to ( marty )duck boat tours in san francisco stopped three years ago. when the company ceased operations. but there are a handful of ferry companies that carry about ten-thousand people a day, mainly commuters. the companies say rider safety is a key priority. the ferry boats vary in size, but all carry rafts to accomodate more than the total passenger load, as are life jackets which are stored under seats and in cabinets on board. ( marty ) ferry authorities say the boats are designed to handle all kinds of weather on the bay. but there are times in the winter when wind and the tide forces the ferries to the dock.

( marty )we now have an update on a pennisula badminton coach arrested for sexual assaut. the academy where he worked has released a statement responding to his arrest. we first brought you this story thursday... and according to the santa clara sherriff's office, the coach... khan-kham malay- thong.... was found in a park with one of his underage students.. .sitting in his brand new maserati s-u-v. he was arrested and charged with sexual assault. the synergy badminton academy in menlo park responded yesterday saying " malay-thong, is no longer employed with the organization." the statement also said that "synergy will not tolerate behavior that jeopardizes the well-being of people enrolled in badminton training at the academy." in the east bay... the west oakland community is coming together this morning to help clean up the neighborhood. oakland mayor libby schaff will be pitching in as well . kron 4s ali ried is there... and has the details.

this park has been through a lot over the years. and today, the mayor along with other volunteers will be doing a summer cleanup, to get it spic and span.this piece of land was once run down, and contaminated with high concentrations of lead in the soil in early 2000's.the city had to do a deep cleaning .... until the soil was deemed safe. it was revitalized and turned into willow park.over time it fell into disrepair and became unusable.after a million dollar redevelopment project, it reopened in 2007.with a

( james ) for your health this morning... an outbreak of salmonella linked to raw turkey has sickened at least 90 people across 26 states.. including califorinia. 40 people have been hospitalized but áno deaths have been reported. authorities haven't been able to find the direct source. the meat was purchased from many different locations and in different forms, including ground turkey, turkey pieces, and whole turkeys. the cdc says samples of raw turkey products and live turkeys tested positive for the salmonella strain... which could mean it's "widespread in the turkey industry." company is promising to cut prices on some medications. merck says it will lower the price of zepatier, a drug for hepatitis-c, by 60 percent. it's also dropping the price of six other drugs, including those for high blood pressure and depression. the move comes after drug-giants novartis and pfizer said they are limiting drug-price increases in the u-s. merck also says it will not raise the average price of the drugs beyond the annual rate of inflation in the u-s. two heritage trees that are more than a 100 years old. they say the trees add value to the neighborhood and are worth the cost of maintenance. kron 4's hermela aregawi has the story from san bruno. pkga community coming together to fight for a cause they believe in..they want these two trees left right where they are.they say.. the city is rushing to cut them down for no reason other than.. they're inconvenient for plans to build a park here.sandra perez-vargas/resident i feel that this could be handled better. we attended a meeting last year when they were talking about bringing the park here. and then there was no mention about the trees, absolutely no mention. and they designed a playground right underneath the tree.

that is what the issue is at this point. the officials are saying it's going to get tree droppings where the children are. we are saying is what city park doesn't have trees with droppings.they are both classified as heritage trees and do have some protections under the law that help preserve such old trees. but according to the city, there are exceptions.. such as when they get in the way of public services or facilities. but residents say.. what is a park without these trees.stephen seymour/resident we'd like for the trees to stay. we have neighbors here who said they're willing to care for the trees and that the trees mean a lot to them. so we

this morning... an outbreak of salmonella linked to raw turkey has sickened at least 90 people across 26 states.. including califorinia. 40 people have been hospitalized but áno deaths have been reported. authorities haven't been able to find the direct source. the meat was purchased from many different locations and in different forms, including ground turkey, turkey pieces, and whole turkeys. the cdc says samples of raw turkey products and live turkeys tested positive for the salmonella strain... which could mean it's "widespread in the turkey industry."
