( robin ) a homeless man suspected of starting a series of fires along a sonoma county trail last month pleaded not guilty. investigators say 51-year-old domingo bautista may have been responsible for four suspicious fires along the west county trail.

a video a viewer sent us of a robbery at the walgreens of columbus and bay last week. but it's not just walgreens. this is the the cvs at stockton and sutter from back in june.... people taking what they want with aparently no care in the world... and this is video of another robbery at the same store this weekend... once again, people rifling through merchandise, and sticking it in their bag before heading out the doora spokesman for cvs says we take the matter of organized retail crime seriously and we partner with law enforcement and other retailers with a goal of preventing this activity and bringing to justice those responsible for it. in 2015 and 2016 numerous similar robberies of luxury goods at high end stores were linked to a group known as the rainbow crew. police working with the d.a.'s office made arrests and 16 people were tied to 23 retail thefts and charged with

morning... the time your child spends on social media could be contributing to trouble focusing and a-d-h-d. that's according to a new study. kim hutcherson has the details, could your teen's social media habits increase their chances of developing attention deficit hyperactivity disorder..known as adhd?a study, published in the medical journal jama, shows a tentative link between teens' digital media usage, such as social networking, texting, streaming music or reading online content... and whether they were likely to develop symptoms of adhd...symptoms which include inattention, hyperactivity, restlessness or impulsivity.over two years, more than 2500 15 and 16-year- old students who initially said they didn't have any adhd symptoms completed surveys in which they reported how frequently they engaged in 14 digital media activities.on average, researchers found 10.5 percent of those who said they engaged in all of the activities later reported

( robin ) san francisco mayor london breed is looking to add one million dollars to the city's budget... to keep the most vulnerable people in stable housing. kron 4's maureen kelly has the story from an elderly care home... that's slated to get more funding. we have to make sure that we invest in preventing homelessness in the first place mayor london breed stood before a crowd of seniors living at the victorian manor residential care facility to talk about the importance of keeping places like this open. over the last 5 years.. many board and care homes like this have closed...since ssi payments aren't usually enough for places like this to keep pace with rising health care costs....and keep wages competitive for staff trying to make it in this increasing unaffordable city.we have to make sure that we keep every single bedthe extra 1 million to go into the budget will be

( james ) happening now... the ferguson fire is growing in size. the fire is burning just west of yosemite national park... in mariposa county. fire officials say the steep and rugged terrain is making it hard for them to gain containment. so far... the fire has burned more than 38-thousand acres and is just 16-percent contained. more than 3-thousand firefighters are on the fire lines... trying to keep it from spreading. 13 areas are under evacuation orders... but no homes have been destroyed.

( darya ) new body cam video rerleased of the interaction between a san francisco business owner and police officers. vicktor stevenson was suspected to be burglarizing his own lemonade stand in the mission district. police talked with stevenson for just three minutes before the whole thing was cleared up. stevenson says he was in the middle of setting up a security camera system when the police showed up.

the company that owns the duck boat that sank in missouri killing 17 people-- is stepping up to help the victims. "ride the ducks branson" is offering to pay for all related medical bills and funeral expenses. they will also help with any travel or accommodations for family members attending services. the coast guard pulled the capsized duck boat from the bottom of a lake yesterday. and this morning... new questions are being raised by an inspector who claims an earlier warning about potential problems with the boat were basically ignored. he says the boat's exhaust would not pass regulation. the gigantic 'pac man' system consits of a floating tube that sits at the surface of the water with a tapered 18-hundred feet-deep skirt attached below to catch waste. it will use the power of wind and surface waves to autonomously sweep through the area. the plastic waste collected will be hauled away by a vessel every few months to be recycled. the ocean clean up project says they hope to remove 90-percent of ocean plastic by 20-40. ( darya ) sacramento police are investigating what led to one of their officers hitting a 16-year-old boy with his suv. police say officers tried to stop the teen for a bicycle code violation but he ran away. police say the patrol s-u-v hit the 16-year-old and ended up in the front yard of a home in the neighborhood.
