from the yosemite conservancy show smoke from the ferguson fire as it filled the valley yesterday.by afternoon, only the closest trees are visible, yosemite's iconic half dome is reduced to a smudge of gray.nat the ferguson fire is in its thirteenth day and has spread to 38 thousand acres containment remains as 25 percent, despite the efforts of 35=hundred firefighters. "this is a full suppression fire, and we are fully engaged. we have even authorized dozer line inside yosemite which is hardly ever done."along with yosemite village, the fire has closed highways 140 and 41.forty=one is the main route to los angeles.now it will be the front line in the battle to keep the flams out of the park. "we're going to bring fire, along our fire lines right up to highway 41. so there will be a lot of fire, a lot of firefighters on the ground, ." (ken) the yosemite evacuation is in effect through sunday.park officials say that's when they'll decide when to admit visitors again.

a southern california family is trying to clear the name of a man who they say, was wrongly accused of murder. they say, the crime may actually have been committed by the man accused of being the "golden state killer..." joseph deangelo. william lee evins was convicted in 19- 79, of the rape and murder of 28-year-old california mother joan virginia anderson. he died in prison of a heart attack in 20-13, but his family is still hoping to vindicate him. the attorney representing evins posthumously says, she believes details of anderson's murder matches the method of operation used by suspect - deangelo. annee della donna/attorney:< there was no reason to look

park. as of noon today park officials closed down wawona and yosemite valley due to heavy smoke from the ferguson fire. junhyuk (june) seo and his family were some of the last visitors we saw in yosemite. they were turned away from the one site they were hoping to see from tunnel view. "i feel disappointed because i can't see any beautiful scenery here"he just arrived last night on his family trip from south korea. "this is my first time and maybe the last time"officials say the fire jumped the merced river a few days ago. forcing yosemite west to evacuate. crews say firefighters will work to back burn parts of the forest to help reduce the fuel. a park ranger sits guarding the highway 41 entrance from tunnel view to allow fire crews to do that. as of this afternoon it's a ghost town here in yosemite with empty campgrounds, parking lots and shuttle services suspended. for now on the way out this is the view june and his family will see ...
