( marty ) wildfires continue to ravage california. cal-fire estimates there are 300 fires buring in the golden state. in northern california, the ranch and river fires in mendocino county have burned 14- thousands acres. one home has been destroyed... and mandatory evacuations are in place. kron's charles clifford joins us live now from hopland with the latest... mandatory evacuations orders are also in effect in both lake and mendocino counties where two wildfires are burning. the river fire and the ranch fire are now part of the mendocino

complex fire. together it is now 14-thousand acres... and 10-percent contained. this is what it looked like saturday evening. a viewer shot this video and said that ash was falling on their home all day. evacuations are underway in lakeport and nearby areas. the mendocino county sheriff ordered mandatory evacuations in the hopland area... all the way to the lake county line. the fire has destroyed at least one home and an additional structure.. over 300 structures remain threatened. ( marty ) the fire burning in napa county has charred 150 acres. this was the scene last night. cal fire says the steele fire is burning lake berryessa... and is 10-percent contained. no word on any injuries. at least seven structures have been destroyed. here is a map of where the steel fire is burning. mandatory evacuations have been called for berryessa highlands and pleasure cove. ( marty ) the deadly carr fire near redding has destroyed more than 500 homes and burned nearly 84-thousand acres. the fire continues to threaten almost 5-thousand homes. sara zendehnam talked to one evacuee who is hoping for good news about her families home. we met viktorya ford just before a road block on quartz hill road in redding... viktorya ford/resident: "so i've been kind of just camping out"of just camping "so i've

( marty ) that was sara zendehnam reporting. a great-grandmother and her two great-grandchildren were killed in the carr fire. they were first reported missing thursday after the home went up in flames. ( marty ) police in the area of the carr fire say looters have been breaking into evacuated houses. redding police chief roger moore addressed the growing problem at a press conference. ( marty ) police are patrolling neighborhoods where looting has taken place. and they have arrested some suspects. authorities recommend people get their valuables out of the house before evacuating, but

( marty ) near yosemite, the ferguson fire, is 30 percent contained. but the flames continue to spread. it has burned more 51-thousand acres. yosemite valley was evacuated as a precaution. it won't reopen until friday, august 3rd. firefighters got some help from mother nature in their efforts to contain it. as low winds helped them move the fire back to the containment lines. but a heat advisory is still in effect for the area until 9 tonight. ( marty ) a woman recently released from santa rita jail was found dead at the east dublin bart station. officers discovered the woman's body early saturday morning. the 26-year-old had a bump on her head, but no other signs of foul play. jail officials are looking at their records to see if the woman had that bump when she was released from jail. bart police are studying surveillance footage to see if they can learn more about what happened. the case is still under investigation.

( marty ) a man on probation is in jail this morning...after police found him carrying narcotics. colma police posted this photo of the bust that includes narcotics, drug paraphernalia and cash found in david meza's san mateo apartment on thursday. officials say meza and his live in girlfriend, alexandria simpson, were both on probation. police say the couple attempted to hide in the apartment to avoid being searched. meza and simpson were arrested and booked into the san mateo county jail on drug charges. ( marty ) in world news... a 6.4 earthquake struck indonesia killing at least 14 people and damaging numerous buildings. the earthquake occurred inland and did not trigger any major waves or tsunamis. witnesses described feeling about 20 seconds of shaking after the initial quake...as well as aftershocks lasting about two hours. the red cross is working to determine how many people are missing, as search and rescue operations continue. think it's a terrible idea because it would allow anybody to get a gun. they wouldn't need to get a background check. they wouldn't need to follow any of the gun sensible laws on the state or federal level. so convicted felons, domestic abusers terrorists anybody would be allowed to download a gun.wilson's blueprint was downloaded 100-thousand times before the state department got involved. at the time, the obama administration said it was a national security violation because people outside of the u.s. downlaoded the blueprints. but in june of this year.. the trump administration gave wilson the okay helen rosen/moms demand action it's a horrifying idea to me. the reason i joined and got involved with moms demand action is because i was horrified by the idea that my child and any other child i know could go to school and be gunned down at school on any random day. and that's why we are 4.5 million strong with members and volunteers throughout the country trying to stop gun dangerous laws.

immigrant detainees continue to be transferred out of the west contra costa county jail in richmond... activisits are holding fundraisers to help keep the detainees close to their families. kron four's philippe djegal has more. thousands of runners are hitting the streets for the san francisco marathon. but this year... there are some changes. runners involved in the full marathon will run on the sidewalk of the golden gate bridge not the roadway. half marathon runners aren't able to go on the bridge at all...this is a big change from prior years.

( marty ) the carr fire burning in redding continues to cause problems for firefighters. the fire has now burned more than 89- thousand acres and is just 5-percent contained. officials say 38-thousand people are dispaced because of the fire. the fire turned deadly friday when two firefighters were killed. we are also learning more about the 3 other people killed in the carr fire. melody bledsoe and her two great-grandchildren were reported missing thursday after bledsoe's home went up in flames. officials confirm they made the grim discovery of three bodies saturday afternoon. the family has posted a go-fund-me page. ( marty ) the cranston fire near palm springs in southern california has burned over 13-thousand acres and 29- percent contained. two firefighters have been injured in this fire. authorities think was intentionally set.. and have arrested one man in connection to that fire.

thousands of runners are hitting the streets for the san francisco marathon. but this year... there are some changes. runners involved in the full maratn will run on the sidewalk of the golden gate bridge not the roadway. half marathon runners aren't able to go on the bridge at all...this is a big change from prior years. the race will still dip through popular parts of the city like fisherman's wharf... there will be new interactive displays that will cheer the 27-thousand runners along. ( marty ) wildfires continue to ravage california. cal-fire estimates there are 300 fires buring in the golden state. in northern california, the ranch and river fires in mendocino county have burned over 24- thousands acres. four homes have been destroyed... and mandatory evacuations are in place. kron's charles clifford joins us live now from hopland with the latest... mandatory evacuations orders are also in effect in both lake and mendocino counties where two wildfires are burning. the river

( marty ) a woman recently released from santa rita jail was found dead at the east dublin bart station. officers discovered the woman's body early saturday morning. the 26-year-old had a bump on her head, but no other signs of foul play. jail officials are looking at their records to see if the woman had that bump when she was released from jail. bart police are studying surveillance footage to see if they can learn more about what happened. the case is still under investigation. and cash found in david meza's san mateo apartment on thursday. officials say meza and his live in girlfriend, alexandria simpson, were both on probation. police say the couple attempted to hide in the apartment to avoid being searched. meza and simpson were arrested and booked into the san mateo county jail on drug charges. ( marty ) in world news... a 6.4 earthquake struck indonesia killing at least 14 people and damaging numerous buildings. the earthquake occurred inland and did not trigger any major waves or tsunamis. witnesses described feeling about 20 seconds of shaking after the initial quake...as well as aftershocks lasting about two hours. the red cross is working to determine how many people are missing, as search and rescue operations continue. ( marty ) the carr fire burning in redding continues to cause problems for firefighters. the fire has now burned more than 89- thousand acres and is just 5-percent contained. officials say 38-thousand people are dispaced because of the fire. the fire turned deadly friday when two firefighters were killed. we are also learning more about the 3 other people killed in the carr fire. melody bledsoe and her two great-grandchildren were reported missing thursday after bledsoe's home went up in flames. officials confirm they made the grim

insists the animal is the real thing... its large ears and smudged paint job made some visitors take a second look. ( marty ) a man in colorado was stunned when he realized he had a surprise intruder in his pickup truck. a black bear got into the empty vehicle and got stuck inside. here's footage of the bear running out of the car. the owner of the truck was sleeping when the sound of his car horn began blaring. he got up and checked it out. here's the damage the bear did. sheriffs came and tried tying ropes to the door handles to open it from a distance. but eventually a deputy opened the door and ran as the bear hopped out and darted away. the amazing thing about all this...the bear broke into the car for a piece of gum...
