window and you fast for 16 hours. it's the most effective way you can drop up to a pound a day if you do this right. >> celebrity trainer jorge cruise says the first meal of the day should be eaten around 11:00 a.m. and the last bite at 7:00 p.m. he says that during those 16 food-free hours, your body burns stored-up fat and has a chance to repair itself. >> sometimes they shut down the freeway, why? to do repair work. well, you have to stop eating to let your body repair itself. >> when it is time to eat, jorge recommends a diet that consists of whole foods and healthy fats. >> about 50% fat, 40% protein, and the rest in carbs. >> think deviled eggs, cauliflower crust pizza, sweet potatoes and fresh vegetables. as a treat, avocado cupcakes. if you do get hungry during that fasting zone? cruise says, you can drink hot coffee or tea spiked with fat. >> this is just a cup of coffee. okay. with a teaspoon of butter. or you can use coconut oil, and a pinch of himalayan sea salt. >> cruise also suggests incorporating short bursts of high-intensity interval training, or "hiit," for maximum results.
