all northbound lanes are open. - opened around 3:45pm the leak in the truck is stopped and an unknown amount of product is on the ground. officials think the leak could be up to 300 pounds. so they are cleaning it up with neutralizer agents. chp says the leak is creating a vapor plume southeast from the i-880 winton avenue on-ramp to southbound i-880. a reverse 911 call was issued for a shelter-in-place within the area of jackson street (south) to winton avenue but that has since been lifted. again, the shelter in place is no longer going on. -------------------- sound - people stuck --- "this is terrible traffic / i'm late for work / it's taken 2 hours to get a mile /

in marin county... wildlife experts say when it comes to coyotes... perception may not be reality. this as some neighbors fear the coyote population is growing... kron four's philippe djegal speaks with a man who believes coyotes are less afraid of us than they ever have been. (philippe)peter hensel/concern ed neighbor- "over here by this little tree down here, uh, this little oak that's struggling there, my wife found the carcus of a cat that was half eaten." peter hensel says that happened last fall near his corte madera home on willow avenue... and, was the work of at least one coyote. and, more recently, he describes another incident witnessed by his neighbor down the street.peter hensel/concerned neighbor- "two fawns bolted in front of

his car, being chased by seven coyotes, and they surrounded the fawn, grabbed its rear legs through to the road, dragged it off to the side of the street, and had a little grissley feast. and, uh, uh, man, i don't believe that belongs in a civilized area, i'm sorry." hensel says he's lived here for 46 years, but didn't start seeing coyotes on his street until three or four years ago. and, says in the past year, he and his neighbors have reported up to two dozen coyote-related incidents.capt. cindy machado/marin humane- "the number of sighting reports over the last five years has not fluctuated higher or lower. it's relatively the same." captain cindy machado (muh-shah-doe) with marin humane says, at the turn of the century, the county adopted a non-lethal predator program... choosing to take steps to protect livestock being attacked by coyotes, rather than rounding them up and displacing them. capt. cindy machado/marin humane- "when coyote's are removed from an area, it actually increases the number of litter sizes, so it could actually create more problems on coexistence." not all neighbors fear coyotes like peter hensel.julie garrett/pet owner- "i love coyotes, but i might not love them so much if it was my pet that they attacked." hensel wants the county to take an accurate count of all coyotes living here, round them up and send them back to open space. in marin county, philippe djegal, kron four news.

(grant) a bay area woman who was studying in new zealand has died... while rock climbing there..(vicki) catherine heenan is here with more on the 28-year-old scientist... ( catherine ) lauren "kimi" worrell was photographed by her boyfriend standing on a rock peak in new zealand... not long before she died. worrell worked at one point as an environmental scientist in the bay area.she'd just finished a masters degree at the university of auckland. relatives say she loved rock climbing and was experienced...but in an accident sunday - she fell while getting ready to descend a 400-foot rock face on new zealand's north island.

holland.it sends this message that it's ok to mock another community, cythnia choi is with the asian civil rights group chinese for affirmative action....she had this to say to those who think the skit should be taken as a joke it's important to have a sense of humor but let's also remember the context in which asian americans find this offensive and really all american should find this offensive. we battle rations to view points about asians being viewed as perpetual foreigners that we are not part of this culture and the marking of our asian accent, our ancestry it's all part of making us feel that we don't belong here. and that's really hurtful and i think it should be recognized that way in a statement the team says they don't condone holland's behavior nor does it reflect their organizational values. holland has apologized publically& says he's also apologized personally to the employee who appeared with him. the executive direcotr for the center for asian american media appreciates the quickness of the mea culpa and puts a different context clearly, what mr. did is offensive to the asian american community, which through the team as fans and ticket buyers, pays his salary. i also appreciate recognized the mistake quickly and apologized. being racially offensive, this incident pales in comparison to subjected to daily by the current potus.maureen kelly kron4 news (anchor) taking a live look

here's a look at what's going on in your neighborhood right now. (grant) in the east bay... a deadly crash involving a semi truck. it happened as a driver led police on a chase in richmond. kron 4's will tran explains what happened. a suspect being a suspect being pursued by contra costa county sheriff's office deputies was killed in a collision thursday night. on thursday at 11:41 p.m., deputies in rodeo noticed two individuals exit their vehicle and discard an unknown item at the rodeo post office at 499 parker ave. the deputies tried to pull the vehicle over, but the suspects refused to stop and drove south on san pablo avenue. as deputies pursued the vehicle, it went trough a red light at san pablo avenue and richmond parkway and collided with the side of a truck. the driver of the vehicle was killed in the collision. the passenger was able to exit the vehicle and was taken into custody. the sheriff's office has not released the identity of the two suspects. deputies later discovered the item the suspects discarded was a firearm, according to the sheriff's office. the richmond police department, the california highway patrol, the contra costa county district attorney's office and the contra costa county sheriff's office are investigating the incident.

(vicki) a south bay music teacher is arrested and accused of exposing himself to three of his students. all of the girls were 10 or younger. kron 4's lydia pantazes has the details. investigators say all the incidents that music teacher is accused of happed during private music lessons, inside the victims homes.but they say he also worked here at the almaden school of music and art.william "bill" colvert is charged with annoying or molesting a child under 18.on august 17, 2018, detectives received information that colvert had exposed himself on multiple occasions while he provided private music lessons to 3- female victims, one was 8 and the other two ten years old.investigators say the incidents happened at the victims residences between august 2017 and august 2018. in addition to teaching private music lessons, colbert has also been employed as a music teacher at the almaden school of music and art in san jose for the past 10 years. anyone with information about this case or other cases involving this suspect is asked to contact the san jose police department's sexual assaults unit.reporting live in san jose, lydia pantazes kron4 news.

wildlife experts say when it comes to coyotes... perception may not be reality. this as some neighbors fear the coyote population is growing... kron four's philippe djegal speaks with a man who believes coyotes are less afraid of us than they ever have been.
