( robin ) ( robin ) students and faculty at a peninsula high school... are grieving the death of one of their students. the senior was driving to school monday morning, but never made it. his car veered off an embankment, and he died.

together. upperclassmen organized a prayer ceremony, decorated blake's locker to celebrate his life, and have written tribute letters to the teen. as the catholic school community keeps his family in their prayers, letters of support have been given to his twin brother who also attends school here.it was a very tragic incident as c-h-p continues to investigate ... they're asking for the public's help ... as they try to piece together what caused the teen to lose control of the vehicle.the roadway was wet and skyline tends to get wet due to the trees and the area. that slick road may have played a part in the accident but we dont know for sure standuptomorrow the school will hold a formal prayer service for the entire student body.everyone will wear solid white shirts in support of the family.reporting from san mateo ... ali reid ... kron 4 news. killing a 6-year-old girl while street racing in menlo park back in 2009 has finally been arrested. later this morning... police will hold a news conference to release more information. shannon steven fox was wanted in connection with the death of lisa xavier... in a crash at the intersection of willow road and bayfront expressway.. it happened on the afternoon of november 12th, 20-09. a street race ended ...when one of the cars ran a red light.. and crashed into a car carrying xavier and her mother. the young girl died the next day and her mother was seriously injured. police say, fox fled the area and eventually the country.. he had been a fugitive for nearly a decade. this morning's news conference is set for 9:00. ( robin )new this morning... a man is behind bars after breaking into a car... and running from a deputy. it happened in san carlos... when police say edward passi was seen walking into driveway's, and pulling on car door handles on the 900 block

of cherry street. when a deputy arrived... they saw passi sitting inside someones car. when passi saw the deputy, he got out of the car and ran off with stolen property. passi was eventually found and arrested. ( robin )a developing story... police now have two persons of interest after a headless torso was found in a fish tank in a san francisco home. we first told you about this story yesterday on the kron 4 morning news. police have not yet identified the victim but neighbors believe that it may be brian egg who lived in that home in san francisco. he had been missing for months. neighbors say they called police back in june... police went to the house but nobody answered. then at the begning of august... neighbors called police again when they saw two people at the home who claimed that egg was on vacation in europe. while investigating police found a headless torso floating in a fish tank in a concealed part of the house. now police have named 39- year-old lance silva and 52- year-old robert mccaffrey as

persons of interest. both were arrested on homicide... theft... and elder abuse charges. mccaffery was later released pending further investigation. silva is still in custody for a probation violation. ( robin )in the east bay... an oakland police officer injured in a crash ... is still in critical condition this morning. the alameda county sheriff's office tweeted that officer jordan wingate is still fighting and having a tough time. the 22-year-old was responding to reports of a suspicious person... when his patrol car crash crashed into another car-- and then into a semi- truck. wingate has been with the department since 20-13.. when he started as a cadet. his father is an oakland police lieutenant. ( robin ) in san francisco... some taxi drivers are declining to use the restroom... and are instead... urinating in public as they wait to pick up passengers at s-f-o. kron four's terisa estacio has the story. "that is gross" that in response to sfo sending out a warning to taxi drivers - requesting them to stop using the outside parking structure as a bathroom. kron four news obtained the email... in which it states quote " airport staff has noticed an increase rate of urination and defecation in the rear of sfo

tax lot number 3 and nearby stairwel. this creates a highly unsanitary condition and a health harzard for sfo custodians...."it goes on to say.. tax drivers are reminded that the nearby restroom is open 24/7, end quote. this is video of where the taxi drivers wait to be called up to go into another line out at the terminals to pick up a rider. as you can see they are all in order... the drivers i spoke with would not go on camera, but said if they leave to use the bathroom, they will lose thr place and subsequently lose a potentially good fare. it is on average 45 dollars to the sf. some drivers were hostile - shouting that they will do whatever they want, where ever they want... they say these days they are in a fight to survive because of ride share companies cutting into their salaries. sfo has

( robin )also in the east bay... police are looking for a person who burglarized and slashed the tires of at least 8 vehicles. it happened in fremont early monday morning. kron 4's charles clifford has details. well, its an auto shop's worst nightmare. arriving to work and finding that all of your customer's car tires have been slashed. according to the fremont police department, sunday evening or possibly early monday morning someone burglarized at least one car and slashed the tires of 8 vehicles behind 2 different auto repair shops in the 41000 block of albrae street.sot monday. five cars of mine were all flat.fil bertolfo is the owner of fil's general auto repair. the vandals slashed tires on 5 cars behind his shop. 3 cars were vandalized behind asco auto body, which is next door.the fremont police department has launched an investigation but so far no suspects have been identified and a motive for the vandalism remains a mystery. there are

multiple surveillance cameras nearby but it isn't clear if any of them captured an image of the suspect or suspects. fil says that a camera at a near by buisnesses did record what appeared to be a black car in the area early monday morning, but it was to dark to see the driver. soti'm responsible.fil says the cars belong to his customers but since the vehicles were in his care, he has to pay to fix the tires. meaning he's potentially out thousands of dollarshe hopes whoever did this will be arrested and punished.soti'm hoping that the people doing that will get caught. because it's not funny. the owner of asco auto body was unavailable to comment for this story.anyone with information is asked to contact the fremont police department.in fremont, charles clifford kron 4 news. authorities announced they're finding potentially deadly pesticides... at nine of every 10 illegal marijuana farms in california this year. that's a jump from chemicals found at about 75 percent of illegal growing operations discovered on public land last year, and six times as high as in 2012. one researcher says the pesticide found at the illegal farms is so powerful... that less than a teaspoon can kill you. morning... a solution has been proposed to help ease the affordable housing crisis in the south bay. the idea would put people who are homeless, teachers and others in need of an affordable place to live .... under the same roof. kron four's rob fladeboe explains. estimates vary but with as many as six or seven thousand homeless people on the streets of santa clara county on any given dayand teachers who cant afford to live here, an idea that just gained some traction would be to build permanent, afordable housing on county-owned, school district property. supervisor cindy chavez.cindy chavez/santaclara county supervisor "...they have a need for teacher and staff housing and we have funding for foster homeless housing and we are looking to see whether it's possible to create a partnership to see if it's possible to get both workforce housing and housing for populations in need on school district property..."no specific properties have been identified, but east side union, san jose unified and 31

san jose rob fladeboe kron4news happening today for people living in milpitas.... there will be a planned water system shut-down. it will happen in the overnight hours-- 10 p-m until 6:00 tomorrow morning. the water main near south main street will be shut down to allow a contractor to cut-in a new connection for a new development. the water shut down will affect people on south main at serra way to the intersection of south main st at sinnott lane. ( robin )it's been more than 2-years since the murder of alex goodwin jr. berkeley city officials are offering thousands of dollars in reward money for information leading to an arrest and conviction... in the shooting death of the 22- year-old man. the shooting happened at around 11 p-m on august 19th 20-16 on burnett and mabal streets.

when officers arrived on the scene, they found alex goodwin unresponsive outside of his family''s home. he was taken to the hospital where he later died. no suspect information has been released. ( robin )homeless veterans across northern california will soon be able to get some warrant's dismissed... without going to court. it's all part of an event called a "stand down"... which provides a wide variety of services to try to get homeless vets... back on their feet. (sot) (robin) judges will judges will gather at the monterey county fairgrounds the last weekend of september, to consider minor infractions... and help the

veterans put small crimes behind them. the "stand down" also provides medical and dental care, therapists and psychologists ... and food and clothing to prepare the homeless vets for winter. ( robin ) california will become the first state to eliminate bail for suspects awaiting trial. governor jerry brown signed a bill yesterday that will replace bail with a risk-assessment system. this means most suspects arrested for noviolent misdemeanors will be released within 12-hours of being booked. people facing serous and violent felonies will not be eligible for pre-trial release. some people worry the bill will allow dangerous people to go free-- and they won't return for trial. supporters say the change will end the unfair practice of imprisoning people simply because they are poor. the new system will go into effect in october of next year. councilwoman is fighting back... after being bullied online. rachel hundley of sonoma says, somee posted pictures of her in her underwear at 'burning man. the website with the photos has been taken down.... and in a youtube video hundley explains how all this has affected her. kron 4's j.r. stone has the story. this is rachel hundley, city councilwoman and former mayor in the city of sonoma. she's running for re-election and has taken to youtube after pictures of her working at burning man in her underwear, were posted on a website called rachel hundley exposed. hundley has responded to this on youtube.sot what was especially disturbing in this era of me too was the attempt to slut shame me in celebrating my body and my attendance at burning man. sonoma mayor madolyn agrimonti, who is also running for a council seat, says power to hundley for stepping up and fighting back.sot she's strong

( robin )4 your health this morning....the u-s is currently dealing with its highest number of reported sexually transmitted diseases nationwide áever. the findings were reported at the national s-t-d prevention conference in washington. according the c-d-c-- nearly two- point- three million cases of syphilis... gonorrhea and chlamydia were diagnosed in 20-17. that's 200- thousand more cases, than the record set in 2016. experts say, the number of s-t-d cases has increased four- years in a row. ( robin )the raiders have unveiled parking plans for the team's new stadium in las vegas. and it might mean the 'famous' silver and black

tailgating experience - could be a lot different than what fans in oakland are used to. that's because most of the parking will be-- áfour miles away from the stadium. reporter patrick walker has details. pkgstandup in the two parking options north of the stadium are here at tropicana and arville. this former southwest gas property is one option... and exisiting parking over at the orleans is another. the team has proposed up to 12-thousand off-site parking spaces between these two locations... and the two on las vegas boulevard south of the 215. add in the 25-hundred or so on-site parking spots... and the team still comes up about 15-hundred short of what's required in the county code. the team is designing the stadium to rely heavily on ride-sharing and the shuttle service between the off-site parking and the stadium. county commission chairman steve sisolak says the proposal is a good start... but the team will still have to address the deficiency in spots.sot - keep them off mgm properties, properties to the

expressway on the afternoon of nov. 12, 2009. a street race between two vehicles ended when one of them ran a red light and crashed into a car carrying xavier and her mother. the young girl died the next day and her mother was seriously injured. surveillance footage showed the driver of the car that caused the crash then exited and got into the other car involved in the race and it sped away, police said. police said fox fled the area and eventually the country, and has been a fugitive for nearly a decade. story... police now have two persons of interest in the case of a headless torso found in a fish tank in a san francisco home. we first told you about this story yesterday on the kron 4 morning news. police have not yet identified the victim but neighbors believe it may be brian egg who lived in that home. he has been missing for months. neighbors say they called police back in june... police went to the house but nobody answered. then at the begning of august... neighbors called police again when they saw two people at the home who claimed that egg was on vacation in europe. while investigating police found a headless torso floating in a fish tank in a concealed part of the house. now police have named 39-year-old lance silva and 52-year-old robert mccaffrey as persons of interest. both were arrested on homicide... theft... and elder abuse charges. mccaffery was later released pending further investigation. silva is

( darya ) new this morning... police in redwood city have arrested a man after he led police on a chase all the way to san francisco. the chase started just after midnight on highway 101 just south of whipple avenue. an officer tried to pull over a man on a motorcycle but he took off reaching speeds on 120 miles per hour. the chase ended at the intersection of jerrold avenue and bayshore boulevard in san francisco...where the man was arrested. it is not clear why he took off in the first place. ( darya ) also new this morning... three people are without a home this morning after a fire in antioch. the fire broke out around 1 this morning on the 28-hundred block of gentrytown drive. that's just south of highway 4. everyone was able to get out of the home safely. ( james ) in the east bay... a man is under arrest after firing a gun in his home in san leandro... the bullet went through the floor and into his neighbor's home. police say minh huynh was handling a gun in his 2nd

story apartment on dutton avenue... when it went off and the bullet went through the floor. fortunately the neighbor was not hurt. huynh told police the gun went off by accident but while investigating police found stolen guns in his home and he was arrested. ( james ) also in the east bay... an oakland police officer injured in a crash ... is still in critical condition this morning. the alameda county sheriff's office tweeted that officer jordan wingate is still fighting and having a tough time. the 22-year-old was responding to reports of a suspicious person... when his patrol car crash crashed into another car-- and then into a semi-truck. wingate has been with the department since 20-13.. when he started as a cadet. his father is an oakland police lieutenant. ( james ) happening now... police in danville are looking for two armed robbers and their getaway driver. the incident happened on windchime drive near manchester street. two men wearing wearing dark clothes and hoods approached a man near his

parked car. the thieves were carrying hanguns. after robbing the victim... they got in a car being driven by a third person and took off. ( darya ) also in the east bay... richmond police hoping to solve two murders... are now offering two 10- thousand dollar rewards. the first case involves mark henderson junior. he was shot to death back on april ninth. and on april 18th... joseph alexander was shot and killed at a "stop and shop market" on carlson boulevard. now the families of the two victims are hoping someone will come forward.

( darya ) oakland police are promising to increase patrols in areas where they have seen four killings ... in four- days. one of those killings claimed the life of 36- year old mario thomas. he was gunned down monday night in an area off of 73rd and international. it happened one day after the deadly shooting just across the street. police believe those two crimes may be connected. then, there were two other deadly shootings sunday. all four shootings have police shifting officers' hours in these areas .... to increase their visibility. ( james ) almost a year after the destructive north bay firestorm...only a fraction of almost 27-hundred single family homes lost in santa rosa...have been rebuilt. city records show that only 9 homes have completed construction as of last thursday... and another 250 are under construction. city officials say under-

police are looking for whoever burglarized and slashed the tires of at least eight cars at two different auto boys shops. according to fremont police.. sunday evening or early monday morning someone burglarized at least one car and slashed the ties of eight others on albrae street. fremont police have no suspects.. there were surveillance cameras nearby but its unclear if they caught the vandal. the motive for the vandalism also remains unclear. but now the auto shops could be out thousands of dollars.

pot farms has been a growing problem all across the state. researchers and federal investigators now say they're finding potentially deadly pesticides at nine out of every 10 illegal marijuana farms in california this year. that's a jump from chemicals found at about 75 percent of illegal growing operations discovered on public land last year. one researcher says the pesticide found at the illegal farms is so powerful that less than a teaspoon can kill you. ( darya ) it has now been more than 2 years since the murder of alex goodwin jr. berkeley city officials are now offering thousands of dollars in reward money for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the shooting death of the 22- year-old man. the shooting happenedt around 11 p-m on august 19th 20-16 on burnett and mabal streets. when officers arrived on the scene, they found alex goodwin, of berkley, unresponsive outside of his family''s home. he was taken to the hospital where he later died. no suspect information has been released. ( james ) new this morning... police arrest two people for a car burglary in milbrae. police say they stole 20-thousand dollars worth of belongings from the car. they were arrested while police were investigating a robbery at a lucky's store. the deputies realized that the suspects in that theft matched the description of the car burglars. luis celis anf nina barry were both arrested.

expressway on the afternoon of nov. 12, 2009. a street race between two vehicles ended when one of them ran a red light and crashed into a car carrying xavier and her mother. the young girl died the next day and her mother was seriously injured. surveillance footage showed the driver of the car that caused the crash then exited and got into the other car involved in the race and it sped away, police said. police said fox fled the area and eventually the country, and has been a fugitive for nearly a decade. ( james ) ( james ) in the east bay... a man is under arrest after firing a gun in his home in san leandro... the bullet went through the floor and into his neighbor's home. police say minh huynh was handling a gun in his 2nd story apartment on dutton avenue... when it went off and

( james ) also in the east bay... an oakland police officer injured in a crash ... is still in critical condition this morning. the alameda county sheriff's office tweeted that officer jordan wingate is still fighting and having a tough time. the 22-year-old was responding to reports of a suspicious person... when his patrol car crash crashed into another car-- and then into a semi-truck. wingate has been with the department since 20-13.. when he started as a cadet. his father is an oakland police lieutenant. ( darya ) new this morning... police in redwood city have arrested a man after he led police on a chase all the way to san francisco. the chase started just after midnight on highway 101 just south of whipple avenue. an officer tried to pull over a man on a motorcycle but he took off reaching speeds on 120 miles per hour. the chase ended at the

( darya ) also new this morning... three people are without a home this morning after a fire in antioch. the fire broke out around 1 this morning on the 28-hundred block of gentrytown drive. that's just south of highway 4. everyone was able to get out of the home safely. ( james ) happening now... police in danville are looking for two armed robbers áand their getaway driver. the incident happened on windchime drive near manchester street. two armed men wearing dark clothes and hoods held up a man near his parked car. after getting what they wanted... they sped off in their own getaway car driven by a third person. ( james ) also in the east bay... richmond police hoping to solve two murders... are now offering two 10- thousand dollar rewards. the first case involves mark henderson junior. he was shot to death back on april ninth. and on april 18th... joseph alexander was shot and killed at a "stop and shop market" on carlson boulevard. now the families of the two victims are hoping someone will come

looking for the person who burglarized and slashed the tires of at least 8 cars. it happened in fremont... kron 4's charles clifford has details. well, its an auto shop's worst nightmare. arriving to work and finding that all of your customer's car tires have been slashed. according to the fremont police department, sunday evening or possibly early monday morning someone burglarized at least one car and slashed the tires of 8 vehicles behind 2 different auto repair shops in the 41000 block of albrae street.sot monday. five cars of mine were all flat.fil bertolfo is the owner of fil's general auto repair. the vandals slashed tires on 5 cars behind his shop. 3 cars were vandalized behind asco auto body, which is next door.the fremont police department has launched an investigation but so far no suspects have been identified and a motive for the vandalism remains a mystery. there are

carlos... when police say edward passi was seen walking into driveway's, and pulling on car door handles on the 900 block of cherry street. when a deputy arrived... they saw paasi sitting inside someones car. when paasi saw the deputy, he got out of the car and ran off with stolen property. paasi was eventually found and arrested. ( darya ) it has now been more than 2 years since the murder of alex goodwin jr. berkeley city officials are now offering thousands of dollars in reward money for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the shooting death of the 22- year-old man. the shooting happened at around 11 p-m on august 19th 20-16 on burnett and mabal streets. when officers arrived on the scene, they found alex goodwin, of berkley, unresponsive outside of his family''s home. he was taken to the hospital where he later died. no suspect information has been released. ( darya ) california will become the first state to eliminate bail for suspects awaiting trial. governor jerry brown signed a bill that will replace bail with a risk- assessment system. this means most suspects arrested for non-violent misdemeanors will be released within 12- hours of being booked. people facing serous and violent felonies will not be eligible for pre-trial release. some people worry the bill will allow dangerous people to go free-- and they won't return for trial. supporters say the change will end the unfair practice of imprisoning people simply because they are poor. the new system will go into effect in october of next year.
