(vicki)nats of incident (vicki) a violent altercation on a muni train in san francisco... after a young man is accused of playing loud music. you can see he is nearly thrown off that train after getting into a fight with two other passengers. good evening i'm vicki liviakis. (grant) and i'm grant lodes. it happened at around 8-45 last night on the n-judah line in the sunset. kron four's philippe djegal spoke with investigators who say the men involved... declined to press charges. .. (philippe)nats- why an argument over loud music turned into this violent tumble isn't clear...no name/passenger- "uh, it's pretty bad." but the person who posted it online says the incident started with the passenger in the blue short-sleeved shirt tackling the young man in dark clothing being pushed out of the second car of a two car muni train.whitney

taylor/rider- "i think the level of aggression that they showed against that person was, is excessive." the older passenger in grey got involved after the man in blue had already put the young man in a headlock. passengers in the background could be heard telling the men to stop. sudie sides/rider- "you try to reason, you talk to the driver, you move, you get off. those are, those are your options. but you don't engage." police say the incident happened at around 8-45 thursday night on the n-judah line. paul rose with s-f-m-t-a says the train was moving for most of the fight... but was stopped when the two passengers tried to push the younger man out.paul rose/sfmta- "we find the video very disturbing, and that's why we're working with the police department to fully investigate the matter. we've turned over our surveillance video from the train over to the police department to fully investigate this matter, um, and get to the bottom of what happened. rose says playing loud music on a train is a violation... which can result in a passenger being asked to leave a train, but not forced to pay a fine or be arrested. in this

case, passengers notified the train operator about the fight... who reported it to their command center, which then called police.whitney taylor/rider- "you don't know what's going on in another person's life, and this person, you could say hey, could you please do something about it and they could be very warm and welcoming and say hey, i'm sorry, and if they don't, its not your responsibility." police were able to speak with both the man in blue and the man in black. neither chose to press charges. the man in grey left before speaking with officers. videos of the incident have been seen several hundred thousand times on the web. in san francisco, philippe djegal, kron four news. just in just in tonight - firefighters have contained a grass on fire at the tesoro refinery in concord. the fire broke out just after three -- it burned 25 acres... the smoke was visible from downtown concord. this is a photo from a viewer. no damage to any buildings - no one was hurt. no word yet on what started the fire - but we have reached out to tesoro for comment - but have not yet hearf back. today. a hawaiian airlines flight had to be diverted after a pilot was concerned about a possible threat. kron four's terisa estacio explains how a passenger's i- phone picture escalated into a potential serious situation. (take pkg) (terisa estacio) "this all started to unfold early this morning when a mom and her teenage daughter came here ot oakland international airort for flight to maui"settled into their seats, the teenager opened up some home work - and shared a picture with her mom on the subject matter.... this was the picture. it is a crime scene, not real, it is a mannequin. ... howevr, the problem cropped up when the teen not only airdropped the picture to her moms iphone - but 15 other passengers... not really knowing what to think of the picture... the passengers with this picture staring them in the face... alerted the flight crew. sgt. ray kelly. the flight crew believeed there could be some kind of threat, so they told captain and out of the abundance of caution he returned the plane to the game and they family was met by our detectives. the alameda county sheriffs departemnt policies the airport.... spokesperson sgt. ray kelly says deputies quickly realized the perceived threat was just mistake.

(grant) new tonight at 5... police have arrested the suspect accused of stabbing a passenger aboard a bart train at the macarthur station saturday night. 59-year-old jamarr coleman was arrested yesterday. they say he got into an argument with a man on a warm-springs bound train.. and stabbed him in the thumb. nobody else was hurt in the incident. (vicki) students are returning to balboa high school in san francisco today-- just one day after officer swarmed their campus... because a gun went off in a classroom. kron 4's will tran has reaction from students as they returned to school. what was going through your mind when you heard the shot?i said god, forgive mewhy would you say god forgive me?because i thought it was the end imagine having those thoughts still in your head as you or your child returns to school. on thursday the students ducked under tables pressed themselves against the walls and turned off their classroom lights after a shot was fired on campus.we heard the system, the pa sytem that we were under lockdown. everybody was scared and everyone was asking questionsparents dropping off

controversial bill that would allow electric companies to pass on some of the costs of wildfires to customers. capitol bureau reporter ashley zavala spoke to both sides ahead of tonight's vote. lawmakers are expected to vote sometime tonight after 9:00. both opponents and supporters are calling this bill one of the most important issues in the state legislature this year. "there's nothing more impactful to our communities when we've had so much of this state that has burned.. where communities and families have been ripped apart."s-b 901 is a multipronged wildfire prevention package... it would allocate $1 billion to forest management and public safety. it would also allow utility companies to pass along the cost of wildfires to customers when power equipment sparks a fire...so long as companies show they reasonably maintained their equipment

(vicki) federal prosecutors and the f-b-i are warning people affected by the mendocino complex fire to watch out for fraud. the f-b-i is teaming up with the north bay disaster fraud task force. officials are warning victims to watch out for anyone pretending to be part of a cleanup crew. they're also urging people to be on the lookout for fake charities. (vicki) the deadly carr fire in shasta county is finally contained. eight people died in connection to the fire that started july 23. it burned nearly 2- hundred-30 thousand acres and wiped out more than 1-thousand homes. officials say it was sparked from a vehicle driving on a flat tire. crews will patrol the burn area for several more days. (vicki) also in the north bay... petaluma officers arrested a man suspected of prowling.. thanks to several tips from neighbors. late last night.. officers received reports of a prowler trying to enter parked cars in the area of albert way, mcgregor avenue and colwood drive. then someone who lives on colwood drive... reported hearing noises on their roof. officers checked the area and found 26-year old michael fowler laying on the roof. he was arrested for prowling and booked into the sonoma county jail. bay... police in el cerrito are asking for help identifying this woman. they say she was caught on surveillance camera taking packages from a home on arlington boulevard. she took off in a black ford excursion. investigators are asking anyone with information to please call them. (vicki) california is taking a big step towards workplace equality for women. state legislators passed a bill that would require publicly-traded companies in the state to have at least one woman on their board. the change would go into effect by the end of next year-- or the company will face a penalty. a broken arm. the child told his mother he was assaulted after standing up to a group of kids who were bullying his friend. but after police interviewed those said to be involved, they went back to the boy - who admitted he made up the story. officers now think he was hurt in a fall at his apartment complex. although some of the details of his injuries are odd....like sawdust that damaged one of his eyes... an injury that required surgery. there's also the question of why he was apparently afraid to tell relatives the truth. police say that social services will be checking on the little boy...to make sure he's ok. a go- fund-me site had been set up for the his medical expenses. that site has since been taken down. grant and vicki? on a muni train in san francisco.. is nearly thrown off that train... after getting into a fight with two other passengers. it happened at around 8-45- last night ... on the n-judah line in the sunset neighborhood. kron four's philippe djegal talked with investigators who say, the men involved declined to press charges. (ken) students returned to balboa high school in san francisco today-- just one day after officers swarmed their campus... because a gun went off in a classroom. today --- discussions on gun safety and extra counseling staff on hand to support students. four students were taken into custody yesterday in connection with the incident. one of the four students has been charged with multiple felonies in connection with the gun going off. three others are possible accessories. one student suffered non life threatening injuries in the incident. the east bay... mosquitos from brentwood and a dead bird from martinez have tested positive for the west nile virus. it's the first bird from the city to test positive this year. overall in contra costa county, more than a dozen groups of mosquitos have tested positive for the virus so far this year. officials are warning that west nile virus season is still very active this holiday weekend... they reccomend using repellant, draining standing water, and avoiding mosquito- dense areas.
