from last year's deadly wildfires.... including the fires that destroyed thousands of homes in the north bay. kron 4's michelle kingston is live in santa rosa this morning with the details. michelle. michelleit's still early out here so we are not hearing hammers or seeing construction crews quite yet ..but people are starting to rebuild their homes and their lives here in coffey park ..and just as they start to get get back on their feet -- they're hearing how they'll be paying more for their electric bill. volawmakers voted to allow power companies to raise electric bills to cover the cost of lawsuits from last year's deadly wildfires ... even if pg and e is found to have behaved negligently.the measure has been sent to governor jerry brown's desk. even lawmakers who voted for it said they had misgivings but believed it was necessary to prevent financial ruin for pg and e -- who's on the hook for billions of dollars if its

( marty ) a big story we are following this morning... the man who was pushed out of a muni train in a viral video is speaking to kron 4 news... he says it all started ecause of the music he was playing. ella sogomonian has the latest éthis video of an attack on a muni train has been watched one and a half million times on social media. it shows two men trying to push another off the train...who's been identified as san francisco local , 21 year old dexter lotz. the deli employee says he was enjoying his day off and was on his way home when he claims the man in blue lunged at him for having the

volume up high while listening to music.sot: dexter lotz, attacked on muni// "we could have worked something out this has happened plenty of times on muni and people have asked me but have been polite about it. but he didnt even give me a chance to even turn it down. as soon as any verbal confrontation happened he immediately leaped at me."lotz says he nearly lost consciousness when the man put him in a chokehold...and a second man in grey grabbed his legs and joined in on the attack.people can be heard in the video begging the men to stop.(nats)lotz believes he was met with the aggressive behaviour because of his ethnicty...half guyanese...and has been on edge ever since. sot: dexter lotz, attacked on muni// "i just want people of color in this city to feel safe ou know what i mean? and im starting not to feel safe." police spoke with both lotz and the man in blue immediately after the assault. the man in grey left before they got there.already suffering from previous injuries and a broken ankle...lotz says he's struggling even more now. neither lotz nor the man in blue pressed charges at the time...but lotz now tells

( marty ) another big story we are following this morning... police arrested three men after three separate investigations into internet crimes against children. stanley barbarich was arrested in sausalito on child pornography charges. police say he was found with more than 600 files of child porn. maurice alvarez was arrested in san francisco after homeland security investigators say they found more than than 600 images of child pornography. police also arrested cristobal avendanoin san francisco. investigators say he was trying to use social media to meet a 14 year old girl for ( marty ) we are learning more about a standoff in san mateo... officers took a man with a gun into custody after nearly two hours saturday. crisis negotiation teams responded to the scene on first avenue. a woman told officers that her boyfriend, 23-year-old german alvarado, threatened her with

a gun. alvardo barricaded himself in a car. shoppers at a nearby hardware store were on lockdown during the negotiations. nearly 2 hours later... police took alvarado into custody. he was booked into county jail for multiple felony charges including possession of a high capacity magazine. significantly increased in the past 20 years. a new study found more than ten percent of american kids were diagnosed with a-d-h-d between 2015 and 2016. that was up from about six percent between 19-97 and 19-98. minority children saw the most pronounced increases. the rate also doubled in girls... although it is still much lower compared to boys. researchers found no evidence the condition is being over- diagnosed or mis-diagnosed. ( marty ) and -- there's a new rule for for parents of children in car seats. the american academy of pediatrics now says children should stay in rear-facing car seats until they hit the height or weight limit for the seat. thats forty pounds for most car seat manufacturers. this new guideline changes the previous rule... that kids should ride rear-facing until age two. experts say... using the car seat correctly reduces the risk of death or injury by more than 70-percent. ( marty ) ( marty ) community and religious groups protested for the final time outside of the west contra costa county jail in richmond. they were calling for the release of undocumented immigrants. but now that local authorities have cancelled their contract with ice.... undocumented detainees have been transferred out of the jail. eight undocumented immigrants were released from the richmond facility in the last week. that includes

( marty ) with the cancellation of the contract in richmond... the closest i-c-e dentention facility to the bay area is more than 100 miles away in yuba county. ( marty ) new this morning in national news... we are learning more about thursday's deadly collision between a greyhound bus and a semi in new mexico. the n-t-s-b released these new pictures of the bus d big rig involved. at least eight people were killed in that crash. n-t-s-b investigators are now taking a closer look at a tire that blew out on the semi... causing it to cross the median and collide with the bus. so far no charges have been filed in connection crash. california family has a warning this holiday weekend ... after an out of control jet ski slammed into the back of their boat.. the terrifying crash was caught on video on folsom lake. a wife says a jet ski came uncomfortably close - before striking the side of the boat - leaving a hole. luckily no one on the boat was injured... but leah prior of roseville says they did find the jet skier who hit the boat. ( marty ) state state statistics show a majority of boating accidents happen on holiday weekends. california state parks officials are urging everyone to be safe and follow rules - including wearing a life vest while on the water.

that was kron 4's hermela aregawi reporting for us this morning. in novato -- three people are in jail ...on d-u-i charges in connection with a police checkpoint. the d-u-i drivers license checkpoint there is on westbound san marin drive... at west campus drive. authorities have screened nearly two thousand vehicles so far this weekend. nine other drivers were cited or arrested for driving without a license, or with a suspended or revoked license. ( marty ) happening now... police are investigating a shooting in oakland that sent one man to the hospital. it happened on the 19-hundred block of 62nd avenue. there is now word on the victim's condition this morning. police have not released any information about a motive or a suspect. ( marty ) a bay area man who wants to help the homeless ...took his passion for pizza to the streets. he raised money for 2 organizations dedicated to helping the homeless. we first told you about him last week. now we learning that he's at it again. kron 4's ali reid was in the kitchen for an inside look.

suing a duck boat company after last month's deadly accident. attorney general josh hawley is going after branson duck vehicles and ripley entertainment incorporated. he says operators of the duck boats were aware of "safety hazards that posed a present and deadly danger." but the suit charges, despite those risks .. they allowed people to board their vessels. during a storm last month ... 17 people died when a duck boat sank. hawley says he wants to ban such companies from operating in the state. this morning... the number of children diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder has significantly increased in the past 20 years. a new study found more than ten percent of american kids were diagnosed with a-d-h-d between 2015 and 2016. that was up from about six percent between 19-97 and 19-98. minority children saw the most pronounced increases. the rate also doubled in girls... although it is still much lower compared to boys. researchers found no evidence the condition is being over- diagnosed or mis-diagnosed.

that was kron 4's hermela aregawi reporting for us this morning. in novato -- three people are in jail ...on d-u-i charges in connection with a police checkpoint. the d-u-i drivers license checkpoint there is on westbound san marin drive... at west campus drive. authorities have screened nearly two thousand vehicles so far this weekend. nine other drivers were cited or arrested for driving without a license, or with a suspended or revoked license. ( marty ) happening now... police are investigating a shooting in oakland that sent one man to the hospital. it happened on the 19-hundred block of 62nd avenue. there is no word on the victim's condition this morning. police have not released any information about a motive or a suspect.
