drowning in accusations of sexual misconduct on campus ... is now looking for a new leader. the president of presentation high school in san jose stepped down wednesday. mary miller has faced allegations she did not do enough to prevent sexual abuse at the private all- girls school kron 4's hermela aregawi spoke to victims. a stunning development in a sexual abuse scandal at a san jose high school.the president of presentation high resigns.. amid allegations that she didn't do enough to prevent ongoing sexual abuse at the all girls catholic school. kathryn leehane a 1991 graduate and a victim herself.. says she didn't see this coming.kathryn leehaney/victimi was shocked. then i cried. because i'm certainly not happy that someone had to resign but i'm also, i feel like it was a critical first step in moving forward for both the victims of sexual abuse and also for the current and future students to ensure that their

safety is the top priority in a statement.. miller said the allegations had become a distraction.. adding.this is an amazing school, and the work done here is changing lives for the better every day. but the allegations of past sexual abuse continue to be a distraction for the school and bring negative attention towards presentation. it is my sincere hope that my absence will bring some peace and allow the staff and new administration to focus on the success and well being of our students--which is our common goal. more than 20 students have come forward with allegations abuse. including one 2006 graduate who filed a lawuit in august.. alleging miller knew theater teacher jeffrey hickshad sexually harrassed her. such allegations made miller increasingly the focus.. so victims say her resignation needed to happen. kathryn leehaney/victimthis

was absolutely necessary. mary miller had been accused of violating mandatory reporting laws dozens of times because of her failure to report, additional victims were abused. ( robin ) miller attended the school as a student.. and served as a teacher before becoming principal and president. a search for her replacement is underway. ( robin )in the north bay... several teenagers in american canyon are hospitalized -- after a robbery during their lunch hour. it happened as the students were walking off the american canyon high school campus for lunch wednesday. 4 to 5 students between 15 and 16-years-old were then approached by two suspects... and were told to get on the ground. the students were then robbed of their shoes, phones, and wallets. they ran back on campus-- which caused a short lockdown. police were later able to

track down the suspects and took two people into custody. it's not clear how the teens were injured. the victims have non-life threatening injuries. ( robin )new this morning... san ramon police and the f-b-i are looking into a threat made towards cal high. the threat was posted anonymously online.... no suspect has been identified, but the f-b-i was able to link an i-p address back to europe. there will be heavy police presence on campus today and tomorrow. if you know something, or see any suspicious activity in or around campus.... you're asked to call police. ( robin ) in the east bay... police arrest a man accused of attacking 2 people on the u-c berkeley campus. police say adam johnson threw a chair at a student... hitting her legs. he then punched a man in the face. neither victim was seriously hurt. ( robin )san jose police are asking for the public's help in identifying three people... accused of attempted murder. they are hoping surveillance

video from a tacqueria... will lead to a breakthrough in the case.. police say, two men and a woman - are involved in a shooting that left three other people injured in august. it happened at "la victoria tacqueria" on almaden expressway.. in the video you can see three people walking into the taqueria... where police say there was an argument with other customers. then a few minutes later a shooting happened outside... bystanders, including a child, run for cover... and the suspects take off. now police think they're all involved.... so far no arrests have been made. ( robin )an arrest has been made in a series of attempted sexual assaults at a popular beach in alameda. the first attempted sexual assault was reported august sixth and then two more victims came forward saying they were also sexually assaulted at at crown memorial state beach. police say each victim gave the same decription of the suspect. undercover officers were patrolling the area when they were notified a suspect matching the

description was arrested. investigators are still asking everyone to be cautious at the beach and to report anything suspicious to alameda police. ( robin )in palo alto ... a pilot who died in a small plane crash has been identifed as w john spencer. spencer was volunteering for a non- profit that helps transport patients and their families to get treatment. his plane went down in the wetlands about a quarter mile from the palo alto airport runway. as a result of the crash. - the teenager who was headed for surgery at lucille packard's children's hosptial and her mother are recovering from injuries. the n-t-s-b was on scene yesterday investigating the wreckage.

the woman convicted of animal cruelty and burglary will be sentenced. wakeen "lala" best - broke into a car on the seventh floor of a parking garage in san francisco back in february. a four-year old black and tan chihuahua was in that car. best threw the dog from the parking garage to the ground below. to their hotelin san francisco. the uber driver then tells police the woman began pulling the uber driver's hair and ears while she was driving. the uber driver pulled over, grabbed her purse and jumped out of the car. that is when police say the man jumped into the driver's seat and drove off. they were eventually caught and identified as 53 year old tyson pelanconi, and 44 year old brenda carlier of southern california. both have been booked into the marin county jail. ( robin )police in lafayette have made one arrest in an attempted kidnapping case of a woman... as she walked to a bart station early tuesday morning. kron 4's gabe slate explains there are ástill two suspects on the loose. early tuesday morning, around 4:20am, police say a female resident of lafayette was walking through downtown on her way to the bart station, on the 3500 block of mount diablo boulevard she was approached by a dark colored sedan.what happened next is frighteningpolice say a man

other suspects are still at large, they are asking for anyone who may have been around this area tuesday morning that saw or heard anything suspicious to call them. in lafayette gabe slate kron 4 news. ( robin )the dmv says wait times dropped by an average of 30- minutes... between july and august. however on average... customers without an appointment are still spending 100-minutes waiting in line during the week. the agency is responding to a public out-cry over the hours and long waits.. which d-m-v director jean shiomoto has called unacceptable. wait times vary significantly across the state from as low of three- minutes for customers with an appointment in napa or fall river mills.... to a high of 158-minutes for walk -ins in west covina. d-m-v officials say, they have hired extra staff and brought back retired workers. they have blamed the longer waits on new technology... and the new federal security standards for

( robin )also happening at the d-m-v... techinicans have botched about 23-thousand californians' voter registrations. that's all under the new "motor voter" law. the department announced wednesday it sent the secretary of state's office... incorrect information for some voters. the department says the errors mostly affected their vote-by-mail, language, and political party selections. the agency says it will send letters to affected customers... so they can correct their information. ( robin )4 your money this morning... if you have an i- phone eight and are having problems with it... listen up. apple is issuing a repair program to address a manufacturing defect in some of the devices. the company says the defect involves the phone's logic board, causing them to freeze or suddenly turn off. in some cases, the phone won't turn back on. the repair program is for i-phone eights sold between september 20-17 and march 20-18. apple

says it will fix the problem for free. ( robin )toyota is recalling more than 1 million of its hybrid vehicles worldwide over a potential fire risk. the automaker said the safety recall covers its prius, prius plug-in hybrid, and c-hr suv models. the recall applies to cars produced between june 20-15 and may 20-18. just under 200-thousand of the affected vehicles are in the united states toyota said the problem involved wire harnesses connecting to the cars' power control units. these can wear away over time, generating heat. ( robin )amazon has ordered 20- thousand vans for its new delivery program. the vans, which are stamped with amazon's smile logo in blue, can be used by contractors to deliver packages. the delivery program is part of amazon's plan to gain more control over how its packages are delivered. the goal is

brutal ... and now a 17-year- old is behind bars in a juvenile facility because of it. kron 4's jr stone has been following the case since july... and has the latest details. (j.r.) they are saying that after weeks of intensive work they have placed a 17 year old behind bars in connection to this gruesome murder. those close with this victim are sounding off tonight.sot i want him tried as an adult and i want him to get the death penaltyjack bryson is refering to the 17 year old arrested by richmond p-d in connection wi the murder of his ex fiance...kishana harley.sot i would love to see him tried as an adult and i would love to see him get the death penalty. you don't kill nobody like that you don't stab them repetedly and then set them on fire.kishana, who went by harley, was the mother of four. pictured here with her oldest son just who had just graduated from marine boot camp. harley's body was recovered inside her apartment back in july. family and friends aren't sure who this

to know if you recognize this individual. he is described as a person of interest, captured by a surveillance camera outside a home on white drive ... where a gun was stolen. the victim tells police, someone broke into his home last thursday afternoon.... and the thieves made off with a glock- 9 millimeter handgun and ammunition. ( robin )the homeowner suspects the burglars were a group of teenagers. police are worried the gun could be used to committ another crime ... and somone could get hurt. ( robin )a kidnapping hoax in fresno could end with the fake victim in jail. police say six detectives worked the case non-stop because of the violent nature and desire to get the supposed criminals off the streets. maria gonzalez also claimed the kidnappers stole 9-thousand

( robin )there is more trouble for the millennium tower in san francisco. over the weekend, a large piece of exterior glass on the 36th floor... cracked. san francisco building inspectors determined the crack was not a threat to those walking below. building management says it thinks the cracking

has to do with ongoing issues of the sinking and tilting of millennium tower. they say, these could be stresses due to what's called a "curtain wall" .. which holds the window system on the outside of the building so far, there have been no other complaints from residents regarding cracked glass ... but there is still the question of why the glass cracked in the ( robin )the building is required to submit an engineering report to the city by tomorrow.

(take vo)yesterday, the san ramon police and the fbi received a report about an anonymous message posted online threatening the california high school campus. no suspect has been identified, and although the post was anonymous, the fbi have been able to link the ip address to europe.in a letter to parents, school administrators are thanking the person who came forward to report the post.they are reminding the community "if you see something, or know something, say something." reporting live in san ramon, lydia pantazes kron4 news. ( darya ) 6 high school students were robbed and was one was beaten near american canyon high school. it happened as the students were walking back to campus from their lunch break yesterday. the students -- between 15 and 16 years-old -- were approached by 2 people. they were told to get on the ground... and hand over their shoes, phones, and wallets. one of the thieves then pulled out a gun and put to the head of one of the students. that student then got up... and the two started fighting. that student was able to get away and run towards campus... the other five followed. police were able to track down and arrest the thieves. ( james ) san jose police need help finding 3 people accused of attempted murder. they're now releasing surveillance video from a tacqueria. police say these two men and this woman are involved in a shooting that left three other people injured in august. it happened at "la victoria tacqueria" on almaden expressway. in the video you can see the group walking into the taqueria.. where police say there was an argument with other customers. a few minutes later... a shooting happened outside. bystanders... including a child... run for cover and the

( james ) in palo alto... the pilot who died in a small plane crash has been identifed as "w. john spencer." spencer was a volunteer for a non-profit that helps transport patients and their families to get treatment. his plane went down in the wetlands about a quarter mile from the palo alto airport runway. the two passengers -- a teen who was headed for surgery at lucille packard's children's hosptial and her mother -- are now recovering from injuries. a preliminary report on the crash is expected in a week or so... but it could be a year

santa rosa police have arrested a teenager in connection to a robbery.. with the help of k-9 'riko'. yesterday morning officers got a call saying the teen was in the area of peterson lane and yardley street. the teen then ran when he spotted the officers. when officers attempted to take the boy into custody he resisted. 'riko' was called in and he bit the boy in his leg ending the struggle. the boy was taken to a hospital and treated for his injuries.. he is currently at the juvenile justice center. ( james ) richmond's hilltop mall was closed for an hour after four people ran into the mall following a chase with police. this happened last night around 5 p-m. richmond police say two people were armed with guns.. and then discarded them inside the mall. police did arrest three of the four people. the guns were recovered while the mall was closed... no shots were fired. ( james ) a big story this morning... the delta wildfire burning in shasta county has now grown to 5- thousand acres. abandoned trucks are scattered along a section of a i-5... which closed after the fire exploded near redding. several drivers had to be rescued ... and at least one person was hurt injured. the delta fire started yesterday... and burned through timber and brush on both sides of i-5 near the oregon state line. the fire was sparked by a person... but right we don't know exactly how. evacuations were ordered for scattered homes and cabins in and around the shasta-trinity national forest. ( james ) meanwhile.. the north fire... which forced the evacuation of rural homes and campgrounds in placer county... has now spread to just under 1-thousand acres. containment is at just 10 percent contained. officials say the flames are

police, someone broke into his home last thursday afternoon.... and the thieves made off with a glock- 9 millimeter handgun and ammunition. the homeowner suspects the burglars were a group of teenagers. police are worried the gun could be used to committ another crime. ( james ) there is more trouble for the millennium tower in san francisco. over the weekend, a large piece of exterior glass on the 36th floor... cracked. san francisco building inspectors determined the crack was not a threat to those walking below. building management says it thinks the cracking has to do with ongoing issues of the sinking and tilting of millennium tower. they say these could be stresses due to what's called a "curtain wall" .. which holds the window system on the outside of the building so far there have been no other complaints from residents regarding cracked glass ... but there is still the question of why the glass cracked in the first place.

( darya ) 6 high school students were robbed and was one was beaten near american canyon high school. it happened as the students were walking back to campus from their lunch break yesterday. the students -- between 15 and 16 years-old -- were approached by 2 people. they were told to get on the ground... and hand over their shoes, phones, and wallets. one of the thieves then pulled out a gun and put to the head of one of the students. that student then got up... and the two started fighting. that student was able to get away and run towards campus... the other five followed. police were able to track down and arrest the thieves. hilltop mall was closed for an hour after four people ran into the mall following a chase with police. this happened last night around 5 p-m. richmond police say two people were armed with guns.. and then discarded them inside the mall. police did arrest three of the four people. the guns were recovered while the mall was closed... no shots were fired. ( james ) there is more trouble for the millennium tower in san francisco. over the weekend, a large piece of exterior glass on the 36th floor... cracked.

san francisco building inspectors determined the crack was not a threat to those walking below. building management says it thinks the cracking has to do with ongoing issues of the sinking and tilting of millennium tower. they say these could be stresses due to what's called a "curtain wall" .. which holds the window system on the outside of the building so far there have been no other complaints from residents regarding cracked glass ... but there is still the question of why the glass cracked in the first place.
