the building...(grant) the city had threatened to yellow tag the troubled tower...after the recent discovery of a cracked window on the 36th floor. kron 4's dan kerman is live with more on the city's change of heart. no yellow tag for millennium tower 0914185 insertsan francisco's building department has chosen not to restrict access to the troubled millennium tower.. the decision not to yellow tag the building came in an email to the homeowners association saying the building department was reviewing the hoa's letter and will respond early next week but will not take any immediate enforcement action unless the situation changes.sot tom miller/homeow ners association attorney 22-27 that's a very big deal and alleviated a lot of anxiety with the homeowners themselves homeowners association attorney tom miller thinks the city backed off because of steps the hoa took in the last 24 hours. among them taping up that cracked window on the 36th floor from the outside and extending the scaffolding on the mission street side and erecting it on the fremont street side to protect pedestrians should there be any falling glasssotonce they saw we were able to capture tha and put fall protection in addition to taping the window then the threat of that requirement went away.the

since this project broke ground. and there's still a lot of work to do before it's ready to host the dub nation. before the topping out ceremony the men and women who have been working on this project were able to sign their name to the final beam before it was put in place. over 1200 workers have been laboring a total of two-point two million hours so far. i put my name on the stadium. i put my prints on here it's on the roof.it's an amazing feeling the warriors are my favorite team it's such a big deal for me to work on this building this projectlaborer scott santos took this selfie after inscribing his name and his daughter's name. i got the chills, we're gonna be here forever my daughter and i were in this monumental area what more can you ask for special when you're born and raised here that means a lothere you can see that final beam being lifted up to the arena's roof.....this topping out means all of the steel in the 18,000 seat chase center has been erected. so far nearly 700 million dollars worth of work has been done here....on

you're looking at an abandoned home in sunnyvale...which turns out to be the latest example of crazy bay area real estate... this property - which comes with two small, run downcottages - is asking more than 4-point- nine million dollars. it's on maude avenue in sunnyvale -- not far from the google and apple headquarters. making it more or less at the epicenter of insane pricing.. it's about three quarters of an acre...and is billed as a "redevelopment opportunity." one city councilman tweeted that it's the "sunnyvale real estate market in a nutshell." (philippe) by the early afternoon... several dozen seniors had applied or inquired about applying for affordable housing in-person and online at montego place senior apartments in walnut creek.maggie/applicant- "it's v ery frustrating." some applicants say they're applying everywhere for apartments that offer 100- percent affordable housing units like montego place... but with little luck, because of the stiff competition. maggie/applicant- "from walnut creek to concord now to pittsburg." affordable means tenants pay no more than 30-percent of their annual income on rent. in order to qualify, a single person must make below 40-thousand 700-dollars. applications are being accepted for the next week. before the waiting list for consideration is narrowed down to 30.mary paris/resident- "took me two and a half years." 91-year-old mary paris has lived here for 15 years now...

(catherine) another big story tonight... a woman says an east bay priest molested her and others for ars... now she's demanding action and answers from the oakland diocese. (grant) this comes on the heels of a big announcement from the san jose diocese... saying they'll áname priests who were found to be predators. kron four's terisa estacio reports on the woman's plight and her fight for justice. kathleen stonebraker, catholic church abuse survivor. "you are my special girl, no one needs to know." that is what kathleen stonebraker says this man, stephen kiesle told her years ago, when he was a priest here at st. joesphs church in pinole and she was in cathesems classes. she says, kiesle sexually abused her for years, as well as other girls and boys. and now, she is demanding justice. she wasnts the oakland diocese to crack open the books and

disclose who knew what when and where... stonebaker. re- open your books, name all the priests, bishops, cardinals that are involved in the coverup. stonebraker is pushing for more now, espeically after the san jose diocese announced it plans to name priests credibly accused of sexually abusing children. it is all part of the bigger scandal facing the catholic church after a pennsylvania grand jury announced a sweeping indictment exposing predators hidden by the church. stonebraker. "tell your mom and your dad will beat me and he will go to prison and your mom won't be able to take care of your family. stonebraker says kiesle threatened she and others to keep quiet. kiesle was defrocked from the catholic church - and served time at san quentin for molesting a child. he is now a offender listed on meghans law - with a walnut creek address. stonebraker says although the statue of limitations ran out on her case, she is still fighting and wants the church to come clean.the oakland diocese told kron four, they have launched an investigation - but have not determined whether to name priests accused of abuse in the past. in pinole, terisa estacio kron four news.

searching for a second attacker in a violent home invasion in the east bay. one person has already been arrested. kron 4's will tran reports from fremont. the home invasion happened on monday afternoon on magellan drive in fremont. a man came home and saw a car in his driveway that he did not recognize. when he got out of his car two people attacked him... dragged him into the house at gunpoint and pistol whipped him. police have arrested alexander rhodes. they say he is a transient who was already wanted for another robbery and sexually assaulting a minor. police are still trying to identify the second attacker. stood by and cheered as the 19th century 'early days' statue was removed earlier this morning.activists say they're relieved to see it gone.ánatsá these are the moments the "early days" statue was lifted and removed from the very place it has been standing since 18-94.the statue depicts a native american at the feet of a spanish cowboy and a catholic missionary.activists have been trying to get it removed for decades as they believe it is demeaning and racist towards indigineous people.earlier this year the san francisco board of appeals voted unanimously to remove the statue with the approval of the arts commission.it was then

peninsula... police are looking for more victims after a man was arrested for committing lewd acts with minors. 31-year-old angel monney was arrested earlier this month. san mateo deputies say he was employed as a ride share driver-- and a part time babysitter through a childcare website. investigators say they've identified several young boys under the age of 14 as victims of various sex crimes... they say monney was good at charming parents and his victims. authorities say five victims have come forward andthey believe there could be more.. (grant) in the south bay.. four people are detained-- and one remains on the loose after burglarizing a home. it happened yesterday in san jose on mary-monte court. police say the man who lives there came home to find 5 burglars inside. the suspects then tried to get into a stolen car that was parked outside-- but the car wouldn't start so they took off running. the homeowner was able to stop one of the burglars-- but the rest ran away. police

eventually tracked down three of the suspects... who were all juveniles. they are still looking for a 5th suspect tonight. (catherine) the irving fire in west marin is now 95 percent contained. it's burned 152 acres. fire crews are now watching for hot spots... initial reports point to a downed power line as the cause of the fire.. pg&e says it's working with cal fire and the county fire department. the irving fire has been burning since monday night. is not yellow tag on the building. after threatening to restrict access to the troubled tower, the department of building inspection has backed off. in an email to the homeowners association, the building department says it's reviewing the hoa's letter and will respond early next week but will not take any immediate enforcement action unless the situation changes. sot i'm glad that they did, i'm not surprised becuase we supplied all the information that they needed to respond to that.homeowners association attorney tom miller says over the last 24 hours, the hoa has taped up that cracked window on the 36th floor from the outside and extended the scaffolding on the mission street side and erected it on the fremont street side to protect pedestrians should there be any falling glass. he thinks that the difference sotthey felt we identified and secured their primary concern which is that window falling out or breaking off and falling on the groundthe homeowners association says initial demands by the city requiring safety scaffolding on all 4 sides of the building and the inspection of windows

battle the mendocino complex fire.(grant) a new report now confirms... the air tanker that dropped flame retardant, causing a series of events that led to his death. kron4's ryan o'donnell joins us now in the studio with more on what this new report says. it's believed the plane was flying too low, only 100 feet above the firefighters... when it dropped the retardant. and because of that, the force of the "flame- suppressing liguid" was so great, the report says, it uprooted an 87-foot tree that ended-up falling and killing matthew burchett(berr-chett). it was august 13th when the battalion chief from utah, was killed. this report by the califorinia firefighting agency, says the pilot in a small lead plane nearly ran the 7-4-7 into the trees because the pilots failed to recognize a hill in the middle of the flight path. a hill... firefighters were working on.the report also confirms... another large tree was snapped by the same supression drop, injuring

where affordable housing is in short supply... today, the waiting list for a senior living community opened up for the first time in a while... (philippe) seniors hopeful of landing a home at montego place senior apartments were in and out of the 100-percent affordable housing community in walnut creek all day... applying for a spot on the waiting list to become a resident.no name/tenant- "for apply here, its uh, maybe one years." that's how long it took this woman to get a place when she applied 10 years ago. 91-year-old mary paris says she was on the waiting list for two and a half years before she was finally accepted in 15 years ago.mary paris/tenant- "it was quite a long list." she says patience is the key, but for some patience is running out. maggie/applicant- "even if its that tiny place here and i don't know if i get it or not."

the future home of the golden state warriors just celebrated a major milestone today....with what's called a 'topping out' ceremony.(grant) you can see the chase center construction project underway here in this video from quadcopter four. kron4's maureen kelly attended that ceremony with about 12=hundred construction

workers who now have some workers who now have some serious bragng rights. before the topping out ceremo the men and women who have been working on this project were able to sign their name to the final beam before it was put in place. over 1200 workers have been laboring a total of two-point two million hours so far. i put my name on the stadium. i put my prints on here it's on the roof.it's an amazing feeling the warriors are my favorite team it's such a big deal for me to work on this building this projecthere you can see that final beam being lifted up to the arena's roof.....this topping out means all of the steel in the 18,000 seat chase center has been erected. so far nearly 700 million dollars worth of work has been done here....on a project that expected to cost over a billion dollars....all of which is privately financed. here's a rendering of what it will look like when it's done. this shot from quadcopter four shows what it looked like at the ground breaking......co mpared to what it looks like now. the warriors team president says the chase
