behind bars tonight..accused of several counts of lew acts with a child.an investigation that was launched in early september. det. rosemerry blankswade/san mateo county sheriff's officea concerned parent alerted us that he overheard his son talking about some inappropriate behavior of another child's babysitter. through that we launched an investigation. and through the investigation we did confirm that inappropriate text messages and behavior was going on between him, and unfortunately multiple other victims. investigators say... at least five boys under the age of 14 fell victims to monney but they believe there could be more.monney had profiles on babysitters for hire websites.. but was working with the victims families through referrals from people that had previously hired him through the sites.detectives say... he ingratiated himself with the victims and their families. det. rosemerry blankswade/san

mateo county sheriff's office one of the tools and techniques that he used to kind of integrate himself into these families lives is through being very charming and manipulating the families, buying different gifts for the families and their children as well so some of the parents were extremely shocked to hear of this news but once we dug down into the investigation and found out that it was confirmed, the parents were definitely on board with getting their children some help. ( marty )a local woman says she was molested by an east bay priest for years. this morning.. she is demanding action and answers from the oakland diocese. this comes on the heels of a big announcement from the san jose diocese... saying it will name priests who were found to be predators. kathleen

stone-braker says stephen kiesle threatened her... and others...to keep quiet. kiesle was defrocked from the catholic church - and served time at san quentin for molesting a child. he is now a registered sex offender listed on meghans law - and has a walnut creek department.">( marty ) stonebraker says although the statute of limitations ran out on her case, she wants the church to come clean. the oakland diocese told kron four, it has launched an investigation - but have not determined whether to name priests accused of abuse in the past. ( marty )in the south bay... police are releasing information about a pair of armed robberies at a san jose strip mall. it happened twice. first, on august 31st a young woman with a gun demanded money at branham dry cleaner's. police say the

next day that woman robbed a sushi restraunt next door to the cleaners. employees cleaners. employees there say she pointed a gun at the owner and his family... then stole 5 bucks in the tip jar and another 40 dollars from customers. police described the suspect as a white woman in her 20's wearing colorful, pattern spandex pants and a red checkered winter jacket. ( marty )coming up... a north bay family's desperate plea for help. in their search for a missing family member. ( marty )plus... the man accused of stabbing and killing 18-year-old nia wilson was expected to enter a plea. but in court yesterday he didn''t say anything. we'll explain why. eduardo in santa rosa sunday monday morning, eduardo got a call from him to pick him up at the bus station..then later told him not to pick him up, the missing man's relatives are worried because he may be suffering from mental illness in the meantime, san rafael police have his pictures up and are searching for him.. family and friends say dozens of people will show up at the

san rafael transit station at 10 a-m tomorrow for a big neighborhood search that will go block by block.live in santa rosa, gayle ong kron 4 news ( marty ) ( marty )in fremont -- police are asking for help in solving a murder... after investigators released the identity of the victim. the body of max balmes was found next to the union pacific railroad track. deputies don't know how he got there. homicide investigators are looking for a connection between balmes and whoever killed him. it was almost a week ago that a pair of hikers called police after they came across balmes' body below highway 84 near palomares road. ( marty ) investigators say they have ruled out the hikers having anything to do with the murder. and they are lookng at other clues, now that balmes

( marty ) a big story this morning ... the man facing a murder charge in the death of nia wilson ... has delayed entering a plea. 27-year-old john cowell appeared in court yesterday ... where he delayed his plea because his attorney is waiting for prosecutors to turn over more evidence in the case. cowell is charged with murder in the stabbing death of 18-year-old nia wilson at the macarthur bart station back in july. he is also charged with attempted murder for stabbing nia's sister...who survived.

cowell will return to court on october 26th to enter a plea. ( marty )in the east bay ...a controversy about privacy and social media. the berkeley police department is under fire for releasing booking photographs and sharing arrest updates on twitter. the latest backlash came after an august 5th "stop the hate" protest ... that resulted in 20- arrests for vandalism and arson. police posted all 20 of the suspects' booking pictures on twitter. now the city council wants to restrict the amount of information police can release to the public following an arrest -- other than in circumstances of an "immediate threat." ( marty ) in san francisco .. some good news for people living in the millennium tower.the city has chosen 'not' to restrict access to the building. as we've reported, the structure is sinking and leaning. and the city had threatened to 'yellow tag' the troubled tower.kron 4's dan kerman has the details. san francisco's building department has chosen not to restrict access to the troubled millennium tower..

the decision not to yellow tag the building came in an email to the homeowners association saying the building department was reviewing the hoa's letter and will respond early next week but will not take any immediate enforcement action unless the situation changes.sot tom miller/homeow ners association attorney 22-27 that's a very big deal and alleviated a lot of anxiety with the homeowners themselves homeowners association attorney tom miller thinks the city backed off because of steps the hoa took in the last 24 hours. among them taping up that cracked window on the 36th floor from the outside and extending the scaffolding on the mission street side and erecting it on the fremont street side to protect pedestrians should there be any falling glasssotonce they saw we were able to capture tha and put fall protection in addition to taping the window then the threat of that requirement went away.the homeowners association says the city has backed off requiring safety scaffolding on all 4 sides of the building and also stepped back on a demand to have windows inspected in all of 416

( marty ) governor brown wants to launch a satellite to track climate change emissions around the world. he made the announcement as he wrapped up the global action climate summit in san francisco

yesterday. during the summit, a number of new measures have been signed into law ... aimed at promoting zero emission vehicles ... and reducing overall climate emissions.the governor wants to use the new satellite to report climate change data to the public ... in an effort to help reduce pollution. ( marty ) affordable housing is in short supply in almost every bay area community ... and walnut creek is no exception. kron four's philippe djegal reports on a new senior living community there, with a lot of applicants -- for just a few spots. by the early afternoon... several dozen seniors had applied or inquired about applying for affordable housing in-person and online at montego place senior apartments in walnut creek. maggie/applicant- "it's v ery frustrating." some applicants say they're applying everywhere for apartments that offer 100- percent affordable housing units like montego place... but with little luck, because of the stiff competition. maggie/applicant- "from walnut creek to concord now to pittsburg." affordable means tenants pay no more than 30-percent of their annual

income on rent. in order to qualify, a single person must make below 40-thousand 700-dollars. applications are being accepted for the next week. before the waiting list for consideration is narrowed down to 30.mary paris/resident- "took me two and a half years." 91-year-old mary paris has lived here for 15 years now... she likes the proximity to hospitals and public transportation. and, feels the frustration others are experiencing in desperate search for housing.mary paris/resident- "sometimes we pass away. other times, they find an opening someplace else, so the list, you know, is open. you just have to be patient." which for some is easier said then done. maggie/applicant- "could be four, five, six, seven years. yeah, i don't even know if i'm alive then." before the summer, the city of walnut creek stated 560 affordable housing units were available with more than 140 others currently being built or are in the pipeline. in walnut creek, philippe djegal, kron four news.

golden state warriors just celebrated a major milestone ... with a topping out ceremony.kron4's maureen kelly attended that before the topping out ceremony the men and women who have been working on this project were able to sign their name to the final beam before it was put in place. over 1200 workers have been laboring a total of two-point two million hours so far. i put my name on the stadium. i put my prints on here it's on the roof.it's an amazing

feeling the warriors are my favorite team it's such a big deal for me to work on this building this projecthere you can see that final beam being lifted up to the arena's roof.....this topping out means all of the steel in the 18,000 seat chase center has been erected. so far nearly 700 million dollars worth of work has been done here....on a project that expected to cost over a billion dollars....all of which is privately financed. here's a rendering of what it will look like when it's done. this shot from quadcopter four shows what it looked like at the ground breaking......co mpared to what it looks like now. the warriors team president says the chase center is going to be an exciting addition to this city. to go for the pretty pictures, to the big hole in the ground to the big hole in the ground to now to see the wait is you get a sense what an amazing project this is i think this is gonna be the most amazing arena in the world. it's gonna stand toe to toe with the o2 in london with the staple center with madison square garden in new york city (maureen)the construction project is more than halfway

epidemic in the bay area... thieves smashing vehicle windows to steal what is inside. tourists and residents alike are dealing with this. reporter lisa guerrero went undercover to catch a thief in the act. take a look at what happened when she tracked them down. it's an issue all over the country: thieves smashing vehicle windows to steal anything left inside. they're called smash and grabs, and in san francisco, the problem has reached epidemic proportions, with car break-ins happening an average of every 17 minutes. inside edition's chief investigative correspondent lisa guerrero wanted to see first-hand how bad the thefts are, so she used a $250 speaker and a michael kors purse as bait to lure thieves to a car rigged with hidden cameras. what the would-be burglars didn't know was that guerrero and her team also hid

gps tracking devices inside the speaker and the purse. guerrero then drove up and parked the bait car at the renowned alamo square in san francisco, where tourists flock to take pictures of the famous "painted ladies" row of victorian homes. it wasn't long before a couple of bonnie and clyde wannabes strolled up and peered inside the vehicle. they waited for the sidewalk alongside the park to clear before one of them threw up his hood and tried to bust out the front passenger window with a special glass puncher. when it didn't break, he punched at the back window, which instantly shattered.he first reached in and snatched the purse. after tossing the bag to his female accomplice, he went back in for the speaker. he struggled to pull it out at first, butfinally got it out and walked off in broad daylight. guerrero then activated the gps units and pursued the thieves through the streets of san francisco with the help of a smartphone app.the gps showed the suspects had hopped on a local bus. when it came to a stop, guerrero took off after them.

( marty )dozens of people watched as the 'early days' statue was removed.this is video of the moments it was been sitting since 18-94. the statue depicts a native american at the feet of a spanish cowboy and a catholic missionary. the san francisco board of appeals voted unanimously wednesday night to remove the early days statue. ( marty ) the contra costa c-h-p is reminding drivers... they can't fool officers. according to a tweet from the c-h-p... the driver...who was in the car pool lane... told the officer there was no room at home for his "venom" look alike doll. venom is a marvel comics character. the driver was given a ticket for the carpool violation. coming up ... a classic alien comes back to the big screen ... and he's hunting down the competition.

( marty ) a big story we're following this morning.. a redwood city man is accused of sexually abusing children that he babysat. kron 4's hermela aregawi spoke to investigators. a babysitter who police say.. seduced his victims through charm and gifts.31-year old angel gutierrez monney is behind bars tonight..accused of several counts of lew acts with a child.an investigation that was launched in early september. det. rosemerry blankswade/san mateo county sheriff's officea concerned parent alerted us that he overheard his son talking about some inappropriate behavior of another child's babysitter. through that we launched an investigation. and

through the investigation we did confirm that inappropriate text messages and behavior was going on betwe him, and unfortunately multiple other victims. investigators say... at least five boys under the age of 14 fell victims to monney but they believe there could be more.monney had profiles on babysitters for hire websites.. but was working with the victims families through referrals from people that had previously hired him through the sites.detectives say... he ingratiated himself with the victims and their families. det. rosemerry blankswade/san mateo county sheriff's office one of the tools and techniques that he used to kind of integrate himself into these families lives is through being very charming and manipulating the families, buying different gifts for the families and their children as well so some of the parents were extremely shocked to hear of this news but once we dug down into the investigation and found out that it was confirmed, the parents were definitely on board with getting their children some

story a big story this morning ... the man facing a murder charge in the death of nia wilson ... has delayed entering a plea. 27-year-old john cowell appeared in court yesterday ... where he delayed his plea because his attorney is waiting for prosecutors to turn over more evidence in the case. cowell is charged with murder in the stabbing death of 18-year-old nia wilson at the macarthur bart station back in july. he is also charged with attempted murder for stabbing nia's sister...who survived. cowell will return to court on october 26th to enter a plea.
