breaking news tonight... for the second day in a row... a fire comes dangerously close to homes in an east bay neighborhood-- and people who live there are forced to leave their homes. hello i'm vicki liviakis. (ryan) and i'm ryan o'donnell in for grant lodes tonight. the fire broke out in san ramon this afternoon... near crow canyon and bollinger canyon roads. people living on pradera way were told to leave their homes... but they have been allowed back in. firefighters say the fire is now contained.. and it burned a few acres. (vicki) today's fire is right next to the area where a brush fire broke out yesterday. on the far left of your screen you can see the black burn zone from yesterday-- and where the fire broke out today. investigators have not said what caused the fires.. but they are asking anyone who may have seen something unusual to call them. and kron4 first told you about the fire and the evacuations through a push alert. make sure you download the kron4 mobile app to always get the latest

spotted a 2002 silver mercedes benz belonging to the woman. kaboga-miller was considered at-risk because she was using prescription medications-- which she had left at home. c-h-p officers have not said when kaboga-miller died... but that her body had been there for an extended period of time. woman came forward.. accusing supreme court nominee brett kavanaugh of inappropriate sexual behavior. deborah ramirez ,attended yale with kavanaugh and says he exposed himself to her at a drunkken dorm party in the early 1980s. the previous allegation was made by palo alto university professor christine blasey ford,,, who said kavanaugh groped her and tried to remove her clothes during a party in their high school years. kavanaugh and ford are set to

(ryan) newly released video shows the moments leading up to the mob attack on a bart train at oakland's colesium station last april. the video shows a lot of teens jumping the fate gates. kron4's maureen kelly talked to one of the victims who was beaten and robbed that night... who says this says this illustrates how the transit agency needs to do more to keep passengers safe. these surveillance cameras show the scene as about 40 young people came streaming into the colesium station that night back in april 2017....jumping the fare gates or pushing thru the emergency gates.another angle hows the overwhelmed station agent calling for assistance.shortly after this video....the mob gets on board a train with rusty stapp, his wife and 18 year old daugther.... he says that's when three males reached for his phone who pulled back.three of them jumped on top of me, two of them were swinging at me one of them was kicking at me. i released my phone and at that

point they got off of me, they went on down the car, rob and a few other people in that instance also someone reached over and stole my wife's purse he sustained bumps and bruises and gave a statement to responding officers....here's video showing the rush of teens leaving the station. bart is now saying that two juveniles and one 18 year old were arrested. the 18 year old copped a plea and did one year in jail.stapp has slapped the transit agency with a three million dollar lawsuit. he says the ease in which the fare gates are jumped illustrates makes it too easy for criminals to enter and exit the station. i've traveled all around the world i've never seen a system that you can enter and exit as easily as this, nor have i ever felt is unsafe in the system as i do bart and i've traveled all throughout asia and all throughout europe and i've never seen a system like thisthe bart spokesperson could not comment on the lawsuit but says transit systems with tougher to jump fare gates still experience fare evaon and crime...they have taken steps like installing higher fencing and putting alarms on the emergency gates at some stations .and they are conducting a study on changing the gates to make it harder for people to evading paying their fare share....without slowing down commuters as enter and exit the stations. maureen kelly kron4 news (vicki) (vicki)

kron4 news (vicki) police in modesto are asking for the community's help in the search for a child who was abducted by his father. police say 6-year-old jayce cosso was last wearing a black "transformer" t-shirt with faded green camouflage shorts. his father -- 41-year-old john cosso is believed to have taken jayce this morning in a black 4-door... midsized early 200's vehicle. police are asking anyone with information to call crime stoppers. the homeless camp called 'hope village" in the south bay. the city and county-sanctioned camp was supposed to be moving to a new, more permanent location today... but that plan has hit a snag. kron four's rob fladeboejoins us now live from san jose to explain what's going on. rob? (rob live) the plan was for the camp to be up and running by tonight here at this location on ruff drive near the airport. instead, the residents of hope village will be spending the next few nights in a motel. (hope village pulls up stakes) exactly one week after it was evicted from a state-owned parking lot and then allowed to re-locate for 7 days at a nearby union hall, hope village is moving again. but not just yet to a new, more permaent location just down the street but to a motel says organizer peter miron-conc. peter miron-cong/hope village organizer "...we knew we would be okay here for a week,

all went down between 1-30 and 5 sunday morning.... at the 8-80 off-ramp that funnels into the high street area. and it wasn't easy for police to shut this down. two officers were assaulted during the arrest of two people. one officer was hit in the face with a rock... and another officer's car was rammed. dozens of citations were issued and a total of 85 cars were towed. police say participants were also firing celebratory gunshots into the air. councilman noelle gallo(guy-oh) says speedbumps should be put in the area to discourage the illegal activity. apple new phones hit the stores this weekend, and at one santa rosa store, the thieves were out to swipe them as well as other electronics... as kron four's terisa estacio reports, this time, a local resident caught the crime on tape, and did so for a reason he shared exclusively with kron four news. along with his children were just about to go into the apple store when this unfolded in front of him. "hey, five seconds later we would be in the store" and check this out, not only did he catch the thieves stealing, he also recorded this video he shared only with kron four news... it shows one of the suspects in a head lock by a good samaritan who then is surrounded by mall security and a theft protection officer. "it happened quickly, he was the last person running." santa rosa police confirm that one of the 6 suspects was arrested and they are currently working on some leads, including working with other agencies such as corte madera where a similiar crime happened recently. as for the resident who took the video, he says he wanted to share this message. ... this month. police say 55- year-old dondiego andrade was with several men at the casino in rohnert park on september 15th. the men got into an argument with another man when the door to their s-u-v hit the man's truck. andrade was shoved to the ground-- and knocked unconscious after hitting his head. he was taken to the hospital and died last tuesday from his injuries. 44-year-old james lewis was arrested in connection to the attack on thursday. lewis posted a 50-thousand dollar bond and has been released from sonoma county jail. ... (vicki) police are still looking for suspects after a stabbing at a high school football game in santa rosa. it happened during the game at montgomery high school on friday night. a female teenager confronted at least two other female teens in the crowd-- and tried to assault them. the girl who initiated the fight walked away but realized a short time later that she had been stabbed. no arrests have been made but santa rosa police are looking for more information that could help them in their investigation, and are offering a 25-hundred

(ryan) in the south bay.. san jose police have arrested two people following a string of robberies in the downtown area. police were called to the area of park avenue and south market street in connection to several robberies early yesterday morning. officer say the robbers approached three separate groups of people. one victim was assaulted and taken to a hospital with non life threatening injuries. we're told, one of the robbers did have a handgun. two men were booked at the santa clara county jail on charges including robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. (vicki) on the peninsula... a man is in the hospital for getting hit by a caltrain. transit officals say the train hit the man around 10 pm on sunday just north ogf the san mateo caltrain station. the train was not in service and there were no passengers on board at the time... no crew members on board were injuried either. trains were back in service on both tracks less than an hour after the man was hit and officials say no passengers were delayed (ryan) in the east

(vicki) a backlash on social media has sent disney animators back to the drawing board to adjust the skin tone on their first african- american princess tiana. the change came after the release of a clip for the new movie 'ralph breaks the internet' showing a new version of princess tiana. according to the wall street journal-- disney made changes after meeting with the actress who voices the character , other animators, and a black advocacy group. tiana made her debut in 'the princess and the frog' in 2008. the fbi has a scam warning for those of you who use direct deposit. cybercriminals have been targeting online payroll accounts at school districts, universities, and hospitals. the scam works by tricking you into entering your login credentials in a phishing email. once the scammer has your credentials, the scammer can now use it to access your payroll account to change the direct deposit. the fbi says they've seen an increase in these types of scams. to prevent being a victim the fbi says do not give your log-in credentials in response to any email... and do not reply and do not click on any suspicious links. also keep in mind phishing emails are usually sent outside normal business hours. congress has found something, both sides of the aisle can agree on... you need more legroom on airplanes. it hasn't passed yet, but both parties created a bill...

in woodbridge, virginia.the virginia wildlife management and control posted video of the snake on social media. according to national geographic, two-headed snakes develop the same as conjoined twins.virginia wildlife officials say the snake's left head is the more dominant of the two.the snake is being monitored and is not currently available for public viewing. if it survives, it will likely be placed in an educational facility.a church fire hit particularly close to home for one massachusetts firefighter. crews responded to a three-alarm fire at st. patrick's church in warheim. lawrence karnow: it was a nice day with hot temperatures in the 90s inland. offshore winds are developing tonight and will bring gusty winds and high fire danger to the north and east bay mountains. winds could gust as high as 35 mph. we will see a few patches of fog near the coast but mostly clear inland. lows will be in th 40s and 50s. on the satellite you can see high pressure building in and that will bring hot weather over the next few days. cooler weather is expected by friday with a slight chance of showers to the north on saturday and again on monday.highs tomorrow will be in the mid 90s inland, 70s and 80s around the bay and 60s at the coast with partly cloudy skies.
