families involved that horrific crash in new york where 18 people died in the vehicle and two others hit when the limo crashed saturday. she says sadly, since the crash, her phones silent - which is suspicious since this is the busy time of year for trips to the wine country during the harvest. the problem she believes is that people think her company is affliated with the one in new york because they share the same name. satti. we have never had a problem. i take safety very carefully. and there is this.... monday night someone threw pumpkins vandalizing some of the limo's. they have since been cleaned up, but satti says it is concerning. satti. rules here in california are much different then in new york. while the investigation into the crash in new york is underway, satti talked with me about how california recently toughened up laws regulating limosinces following the

graffiti scrawled across the pavement at a south bay dental clinic is being investigated as a hate crime. and as kron four's rob fladeboe reports now, it's not the first time the clinic has been the target of hate. mohsena ahmad/hate crime victim '....of course i am shocked and hurt by this...."dr. mohsena ahmad arrived at her dental office here on union avenue in thecambrian district early monday to find a swastika on the pavement. there was also what she believes to be a reference to the ku klux klan and other hatefull images scrawled across the parking lot.dr. mohsena ahmad "....i was really, really surprised and shocked and stunned and petrified all at the same time..."dr.ahmad, who gave this cell phone and surveillance video to police, believes she is being targeted because she is a muslim. she

(vicki) a mistake was made at d-m-v registering non-citizens to vote. kron4's ryan o'donnell joins us with more on how this happened. d-m-v announcing around 15-hundred people may have been incorrectly registered. they're calling this a "processing error" that happened between april 23rd and september 25th, involving legal residents who are not u-s citizens. this is the latest issue with the department's new "motor voter" registration system. last month, d-m-v announced it may have botched about 23-thousand voter registrations because of a different error. the new 'motor voter law' went into effect in april and is aimed at making it easier for people to register, in order to boost voter turnout.in a letter calling for an audit of the d- m-v... secretary of state alex padilla wrote "i remain deeply frustrated and disappointed that persistent errors by the d-m-v and c-d-t have undermined public confidence."

the d-m-v director says they're already investigating this problem... and will cancel any incorrect registrations they come across. early voting for nexy month's election, began yesterday. (grant) paramedics and emergency medical technicians from across the state are speaking out against prop 11. dozens demonstrated at the state capitol today... capitol bureau reporter ashley zavala explains why the group says the ballot intitiative is deceiving.. shutting down today after decades of business.(vicki) kron 4's sanaz tahernia joins us live from the newsroom... with more on why today marks the end of an era. sanaz? .. (sanaz) that's right grant and vicki, it's been a somber day for many in the mission district because at 9 p-m tonight, la victoria mexican bakery and cafe located on the corner of 24th street and alabama street will be permanently closing its doors. they've been in business for 67 years and they're being forced to close because the new owners of the building where the bakery is located are actually evicting the bakery owners. with its doors open, locals and la victoria regulars walked out with bags full of various pastries and bread. almost every single person that walked into the bakery commented on how sad they were that the location was shutting down - some even reminisced about working nearby the bakery in the sixties and coming in every single day for a baked treat.

"vector control sent them some letters in the past saying clean up their property, trim your trees, here's what we recommendbut jerry says the problem has only gotten worse. we spoke with the property's owner on the phone tonight. lisa. . who didn't want to use her last name. . told us this.

talked with the wife of a man who was injured in this fire... she told us he suffered from burns of over 45- percent of his body. the home is a compelte loss. the fire started inside of the home at about 2 this morning. three adults were inside the home and they were all able to get out. emergency responders tried to airlift the man injured to the hospital... but it was too difficult because of the fog. he ended up being taken to the hospital by abulance. we talked to his wife about why he went back inside the home after they had gotten out. at this point we do not know how the fire

shutting down now? that's right -- 67 years is a long time for any business, especially one that many people were visiting on a daily basis. i was told that the bakery is being forced to close its doors because the new owners of the building where la victoria is located are actually evicting the bakery owners. i was there a little earlier today and i had a chance to speak to some of the customers that came in to make their last purchase. every single person who i spoke with said that they have been a loyal la victoria customer for years and that they were very upset that the business was shutting down. i even spoke to one woman who said she'd go to the bakery almost every day since the early sixties.
