san diego. 32 years later and it's like time stood still. check out the throw back bomber jacket. "e.t." learned production started in mid september. here's what else we know. the film is scheduled to be released june 2020. it was delayed a year due to the complex aerial sequences. val kilmer will continue his role. ed harris gave "e.t." a preview what to expect. >> do you know what your role will be? >> yeah. it's a couple fun scenes with tom. it's a cool script. >> "e.t." was on the set of "top gun" in 1985 where tom told us how much he connected to the role. >> maverick is very sure of himself. he's very intense, hard worker. he loves his plane. he loved flying. i researched this role for two months.

a month later abc announced a spin-off show, "the conners" without roseanne. >> i assume it will be addressed on the show? >> yeah. they don't like me talking about it. >> i would think not. have you told anybody accidentally? >> yeah. i got interviewed for a thing i was doing on the bbc in london and i was -- it's london. nobody's going to hear it. >> quite the opposite. while promoting "black earth rising" a "times of london" reporter asked john what's next for his character on "the conners." he said quote, i guess he'll be mopey and sad because his wife's dead. there's speculation roseanne dies of an opioid overdose. john was the only cast member to publicly support roseanne. >> how much did that support mean to you? >> i cried and my boyfriend was like, look, look at what he said. i was so happy. >> roseanne renounced her financial stake in "the conners" so the spin-off could move forward. >> she gave up a lot for us to do the show and i can't thank her enough. >> also on tuesday night "the
