(catherine) police are asking for the public's help in identifying two men suspected of being involved in a string of cell phone store burglaries in the east bay. today investigators released surveillance video of the two burglars in action... kron4's haaziq madyun has the story(take pkg) (pkg)take a close look at this surveillance video. in it you see two men wearing hooded sweat tops enter the at&t store in the clayton valley shopping center in concord. this video was recorded back on tuesday october 2nd, cellphone stor that day. after the burglary at the at&t store, the hooded men walked right next door to the sprint store and allegedly took cell phones and tablets

from there as well. unlike other snatch and grab cellphone store burglaries where the suspects run into the store and grab electronics and a fast pace, these two seemed to take their time, almost as if they were shopping or looking for specific items to steal. in fact a witness told me the two men were looking for the most expensive items in the store but at&t no longer places items out on displaysot concord police say the same two hooded men are likely responsible for a burglary minutes later at this verizon store in the oak grove plaza. this at&t store in pleasant hill is the location of the fourth burglary. pleasant hill police investigators say they are checking to see if these two men are connected to that incident in addition to three separate cell phone stores

(catherine) in the east bay... a suspicious fire in oakley has destroyed one business and damaged two others.. no one was injured - but a firefighter on the scene had a very close call. kron 4's sara stinson has the story. it was a difficult fire for contra costa county fire crews to put out at this tire shop on main street. not only is it an older building, but it's right next to the railroad tracks. i witnessed the scary moment when one firefighter just barely dodged a train passing by. you can hear the train's horn...and see the firefighter grabbing the fire hose just moments before the train passed by. battalion chief ross macumber says crews were near the tracks after they notified the railway company to close the tracks due to the fire.

it was a very close call, the train came through at a very high rate of speed.">thankf ully no one was hurt. the fire first broke out at saeed bro tires on main street in oakley at 2:15 wednesday morning. the tire shop is a total loss while the two other businesses next door experienced heavy damage. including delta boot camp...the owner worries his business is a total loss too. he's hoping to recover quickly so he doesn't lose over 300 customers who worked out here everyday. fire crews mopped up the scene for over six hours and are continuing to investigate the fire as suspicous. in oakley, sara stinson, kron four news.###

(catherine) u-c- berkeley campus police are asking for public help after a student was sexually assaulted in university housing. it happened early last friday morning...and no onehas been arrested. campus police are asking anyone with information to contact them.. experts say roughly 23 percent of all female college students say they've experience rape or sexual assault. (grant) on the peninsula... menlo park police are investigating reports of a suspicious man near ringwood avenue. police say a hispanic male driving a newer model dark gray or black b-m-w approached a 14-year-old girl who was walking to school last week. the driver reportedly told the girl he was low on gas and

offered her a ride if she gave him money.. she declined and he drove away. the vehicle was described as having a paper dealership advertisement instead of license plates. (grant) san francisco police are looking for the group of men who assaulted five people inside a home in the city's silver terrace neighborhood. it happened saturday morning just before 4 at the home on the first block of topeka avenue. police say five men stormed into the home with guns held the residents at gun point, assaulted them and left with cash. the victims suffered minor injuries but declined hospitalization. (grant) a 60-year-old man injured in a hit-and-run last week in san francisco has died. the man has been identified as norman tanner. the hit-and-run happened back on october third when a driver ran a red light at the intersection of baker and oak streets in san francisco's haight-ashbury neighborhood. the driver of the car stopped and out of the car after the crash but then got back in the car and took off.

police are still looking for the driver. they say it was a woman who was driving a black or dark blue toyota prius with front end damage. (catherine) police have arrested the son of a limousine company owner... in connection with a deadly crash in new york over the weekend. (grant) the man was arrested during a traffic stop. kron4's ryan o'donnell joins us with the latest on this crash that killed 20 people. here he is... his name is nauman(nah-man) hussain. even though his father, who's in pakistan, owns 'prestige limousine chauffeur service...' he's been running the day-to-day operatoins. and right now he's charged with 'criminally negligent homicide' after investigators determined he knew that limo had major problems and still used it. a memorial grows at the crash site... where 20 people died... after the modified ford excursion limo, barreled through a stop

(grant) you've heard of the term "a trademark image" ...well former 49er and current activist colin kaepernick is actually trying to trademark what has become an iconic image of his face and hair. kaepernick's company "inked flash" filed for the trademark last week. according to the filing, the goal is to put the black- and-white image on products from shampoo to lampshades. it may also be tied to t-v shows, movies, self- empowerment initiatives, and efforts to raise awareness on how to properly interact with law enforcement. in 20-16, kaepernick began kneeling during the national anthem before football games -- to protest racial injustice and police brutality in america. (catherine) police are investigating a disturbing case of child endangerment in new york. it's not clear how it happened -- but a group of toddlers ended up with crack cocaine in their hands at a day care center. nicole johnson talked to the mother of a little girlwho was hospitalized after putting the drug in her mouth. sabrina straker / mother: "had my daughter ingested the capsule and not spit it out, i would be planning a funeral." little serenity... is alive and well but her mother says her 4 year old could have died....sabrina straker / mother: "luckily because she spit it, out she's still here." sabrina straker is talking about these small capsules filled with crack cocaine. serenity says another child gave them to her on friday while the kids were playing together here at little inventors day care in the bronx.when serenity arrived home that evening, at first,

fremont street reopening delay 1010186 insertfremont street between mission and howard has been shutdown since cracks beams at the salesforce transit center. that's created a backup on fremont forcing cars heading north across the city to turn left or right on howard street. 4 steel towers are now inplace to shore up the area and remove the load from the cracked beams. the hope was to get the street reopened by this friday. but now transit center officials say reopening of fremont street won't happen until next wednesday october 17. that's because constructing similar shoring systems on the bus deck level above and the than expected... one block over on first street repair crews have successfully set up these massive yellow jacks to shore up that area which has a similar design. overnight closures of first street are

emotional support squirrel were forced off a frontier airline flight in orlando, florida.(ken) the fiasco delayed the cleveland-bound flight for almost two hours tuesday night. passengers said the woman boarded the flight routinely.. just before take-off - there was an announcement they had to get off the plane - since a woman had a squirrel in a small carrier on her lap. she refused to go - and had to be escorted off of the plane by orlando police. the resulting videos are making the rounds on social media.
