ta-hernia. sanaz? milpitas: two men arrested with stolen mail, credit cards bcn13 -identity theft arrests milpitas (bcn) two men were arrested oct. 13 on suspicion of several crimes, including identity theft, milpitas police reported. allan david yap and hoi soo yang, both residents of san jose, were spotted in a car in the parking lot of a motel in the 400 block of valley way in milpitas shortly before midnight oct. 13. one officer saw drug paraphernalia in plain view in the car and detained both men, police said. further search of the men's car revealed several pieces of stolen mail and credit cards from residents in milpitas, san jose and los altos. initially, both men gave false identities to police, but their true names were later discovered. outstanding warrants, yap for possession of stolen property, and yang for narcotics violations. both men were booked into the santa clara county jail on their warrants. the identity theft case remains under investigation. anyone with information is asked to call milpitas police at (408) 586-2400, or call (anonymously if you wish) the crime tip hotline at (408) 586- 2500. you also can visit the milpitas police department website at www.ci.milpitas.ca .gov/crimetip thanks sanaz.

( marty )also in the south bay, san jose police arrested a man accused of stealing a car with a child inside. this happened on story road and leeward drive in san jose. police say 30-year-old martin huerta was arrested for kidnapping, auto theft and obstructing an investigation. officials say the victim went into a convenience store and left his car running with a 5-year-old child inside... huerta got into the car and drove away. when officers spotted the stolen vehicle huerta ran away. the child was not in the vehicle when officers arrived but was found a few minutes later. the child was uninjured and reunited with her father. ( marty )in the east bay... oakland police arrested a man who was wanted for shooting at a poli officer. officials say this happened just after 3 in the morning friday on east 17th street.

the uniformed officer was driving a marked car tried to arrest the man. according to police, that suspect took off running turned around fired at the officer. the officewas not hit and fired back. the suspects name has not been released. ( marty )also in the east bay... a mother says she is looking for justice after her son was shot and killed by police. it happened almost 10-months ago... when 45-year- old terry amons of antioch was killed by pittsburg police while he was sitting in his car. kron 4's gayle ong spoke with the victims family... and has the it's been an agonizing 10 months for sandra talbert..the mother of 45-year-old terry amons jr of antioch.amons was shot and killed by pittsburg police in january.officer body cam video shows what led to the deadly

shooting.it happened at the nation's restaurant on railroad avenue in pittsburg.. his favorite spot turned into a vigil a day after he died..it was january 12th -- police were responding to reports of an apparent drug deal. officers say they opened fire because the man made a possible move towards a gun in the car's center console.police say they administered first aid to amons until an ambulance arrived... but he later died at the hospital.police also say they found a loaded, unregistered handgun in the car's center console.talbert is now calling for the officers' job and is demanding a full investigation ..

cross is working with the 40 people who lost their homes during a weekend fire in valejo. it happened just after midnight saturday on georgia street. the vallejo fire department tweeted this picture. firefighters say when they arrived their was smoke on the second and third floors. but everyone got out safely. no one was hurt. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. ( marty ) new developments in a sexual abuse case at the university of southern california. the university is offering a settlement to women who say they were sexually abused by a gynecologist at a campus clinic. hundreds of women have come forward with stories of sexual assault or misconduct by george tyndall....over nearly 30 years. they have filed

several lawsuits against tyndal and the university. the doctor has denied the allegations. friday, u-s-c announced a 2-hundred-15- million dollar class action settlement... where the women would each get 25-hundred dollars. the announcement came as a shock to attorneys who are representing 180 women in the case.

( marty ) several agencies came together to help free an entangled whale this week. the humpback was first spotted in half moon bay from the air. crews from marine life studies, southwest fisheries, the coast guard, and a local fishing boat all came to the animal's rescue. the whale was caught in an estimated 500 feet of fishing line -- crews chased the whale south for two days before finally freeing the humpback. with stolen mail, credit cards bcn13 -identity theft arrests milpitas (bcn) two men were arrested oct. 13 on suspicion of several crimes, including identity theft, milpitas police reported. allan david yap and hoi soo yang, both residents of san jose, were spotted in a car in the parking lot of a motel in the 400 block of valley way in milpitas shortly before midnight oct. 13. one officer saw drug paraphernalia in plain view in the car and detained both men, police said. further search of the men's car revealed several pieces of stolen mail and credit cards from residents in milpitas, san jose and los altos. initially, both men gave false identities to police, but their true names were later discovered. both men had outstanding warrants, yap for possession of stolen property, and yang for narcotics violations. both men were booked into the santa clara county jail on their warrants. the identity theft case remains under investigation. anyone with information is asked to call milpitas police at (408) 586-2400, or call (anonymously if you wish) the crime tip hotline 2500. you also can visit the department website at .gov/crimetip thanks sanaz. bay, san jose police arrested a man accused of stealing a car with a child inside. this happened on story road and leeward drive in san jose. police say 30-year-old martin huerta was arrested for kidnapping, auto theft and obstructing an investigation. officials say the victim went into a convenience store and left his car running with a 5-year-old child inside... huerta got into the car and drove away. when officers spotted the stolen vehicle huerta ran away. the child was not in the vehicle when officers arrived but was found a few minutes later. the child was uninjured and reunited with her father. ( marty )in the east bay... oakland police arrested a man who was wanted for shooting at a police officer. officials say this happened just after 3 in the morning friday on east 17th street. the uniformed officer was driving a marked car tried to arrest the man. according to police, that suspect took off running turned around fired at the ofcer. the officer was not hit and fired

back. the suspects name has not been released. ( marty )also in the east bay... a mother says she is looking for justice after her son was shot and killed by police. it happened almost 10-months ago... when 45-year- old terry a-mens of antioch was killed by pittsburg police while he was sitting in his car. kron 4's gayle ong spoke with the victims family... and has the story. it's been an agonizing 10 months for sandra talbert..the mother of 45-year-old terry amons jr of antioch.amons was shot and killed by pittsburg police in january.officer body cam video shows what led to the deadly shooting.it happened at the

nation's restaurant on railroad avenue in pittsburg.. his favorite spot turned into a vigil a day after he died..it was january 12th -- police were responding to reports of an apparent drug deal. officers say they opened fire because the man made a possible move towards a gun in the car's center console.police say they administered first aid to amons until an ambulance arrived... but he later died at the hospital.police also say they found a loaded, unregistered handgun in the car's center console.talbert is now calling for the officers' job and is demanding a full investigation ..she has been working with local activists and organizations who dealt with similair tragedies

( marty ) new developments in a sexual abuse case at the university of southern california. the university is offering a settlement to women who say they were sexually abused by a gynecologist at a campus clinic. hundreds of women have come forward with stories of sexual assault or misconduct by george tyndall....over nearly 30 years. they have filed several lawsuits against tyndal and the university. the doctor has denied the allegations. friday, u-s-c announced a 2-hundred-15- million dollar class action settlement... where the women would each get 25-hundred dollars. the announcement came as a shock

crews from marine life studies, southwest fisheries, the coast guard, and a local fishing boat all came to the animal's rescue. the whale was caught in an estimated 500 feet of fishing line -- crews chased the whale south for two days before finally freeing the humpback. ( marty ) ( marty )new this morning... 2 men are in jail this morning after being found with stolen mail and credits cards. they we're arrested outside of the best western brookside inn hotel in milpitas. it happened thursday night when an officer saw allan yap and hoi soo yang sitting inside a car with drug paraphernalia in plain view. at first yap and yang gave the officer fake names... but after seaching the car... police found stolen mail... identification cards... and credit cards from people who live in milpitas, san jose, and los altos. both men were booked into the santa clara county jail for warrants. if you have any information on these men you're asked to call police. who was wanted for shooting at a police officer. officials say this happened just after 3 in the morning friday on east 17th street. the uniformed officer was driving a marked car tried to arrest the man. according to police, that suspect took off running turned around fired at the officer. the officer was not hit and fired back. the suspects name has not been released. ( marty )also in the east bay... a mother says she is looking for justice after her son was shot and killed by police. it happened almost 10-months ago... when 45-year- old terry a-mens of antioch was killed by pittsburg police while he was sitting in his car. kron 4's gayle ong spoke with the victims family... and has the story. it's been an agonizing 10 months for sandra talbert..the mother of

45-year-old terry amons jr of antioch.amons was shot and killed by pittsburg police in january.officer body cam video shows what led to the deadly shooting.it happened at the nation's restaurant on railroad avenue in pittsburg.. his favorite spot turned into a vigil a day after he died..it was january 12th -- police were responding to reports of an apparent drug deal. officers say they opened fire because the man made a possible move towards a gun in the car's center console.police say they administered first aid to

amons until an ambulance arrived... but he later died at the hospital.police also say they found a loaded, unregistered handgun in the car's center console.talbert is now calling for the officers' job and is demanding a full investigation ..she has been working with local activists and organizations who dealt with similair tragediesthe d-a's office has reviewed the case and determined that the actions were justified.. ( marty )also in the south bay, san jose police arrested a man accused of stealing a car with a child inside. this happened on story road and leeward drive in san jose. police say 30-year-old martin huerta was arrested for kidnapping, auto theft and obstructing an investigation. officials say the victim went into a convenience store and left his car running with a 5-year-old child inside...

huerta got into the car and drove away. when officers spotted the stolen vehicle huerta ran away. the child was not in the vehicle when officers arrived but was found a few minutes later. the child was uninjured and reunited with her father. cross is working with the 40 people who lost their homes during a weekend fire in valejo. it happened just after midnight saturday on georgia street. the vallejo fire department tweeted this picture. firefighters say when they arrived their was smoke on the second and third floors. but everyone got out safely. no one was hurt. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. ( marty ) its been 27 years since 25 people were killed in the oakland hills fire storm. this weekend, many are thinking back to the blaze that destroyed almost 4- thousand homes. kron 4's michelle kingston spoke with an oakland resident who

in a sexual abuse case at the university of southern california. the university is offering a settlement to women who say they were sexually abused by a gynecologist at a campus clinic. hundreds of women have come forward with stories of sexual assault or misconduct by george tyndall....over nearly 30 years. they have filed several lawsuits against tyndal and the university. the doctor has denied the allegations. friday, u-s-c announced a 2-hundred-15- million dollar class action settlement... where the women would each get 25-hundred dollars. the announcement came as a shock to attorneys who are representing 180 women in the case.

those patients who are willing to provide further details about their experience could be eligible for additional compensation of up to $250- thousand dollars." ( marty ) several agencies came together to help free an entangled whale this week. the humpback was first spotted in half moon bay from the air. crews from marine life studies, southwest fisheries, the coast guard, and a local fishing boat all came to the animal's rescue. the whale was caught in an estimated 500 feet of fishing line -- crews chased the whale south for two days before finally freeing the humpback.
